I’m not sure if I can make it now, since I lost my job yesterday. It’s kind of hard justifying gas and entry fees now.
The tournament date has a less than 1% chance of changing at this point.
The divide between SSF4 on PS3 and 360 is a shitty issue. I’d try to run the tournament on both, but there’s a slew of problems awaiting if I do that.
And damn Duckie, that sucks.
If necessary I can bring a couple of xbox controllers as well as the fightsticks. I’m perfectly willing to play it on ps3 if that’s what everybody prefers, I just don’t have any set ups for that.
im gonna try my damndest to make it to this…
can someone direct me as to where i should go to find more tourneys in mississippi? i kind of live here now. im in biloxi, keesler airforce base. any tourneys close to here?
http://shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=126823 will help you find a few MS players. On the coast, you should definitely check the LA thread too.
The tournament is a week from today, so get hype people! We are running three games on three different systems, so we will definitely need setups for all three! I have invested in my own 360 now so I will be able to provide the console and game, but do not have a second monitor.
Gonna make some clarification on the schedule. The registration will cut off at 1:00 PM for SSF4 only, after which the tournament will start as soon as brackets are generated. Depending on turnout, I plan to cut off registration for and begin Tekken at 3:00 PM and MBAA will most likely take place at the same time. The times for these games may change depending on turnout, but SSF4 will definitely begin at 1:00 PM. I would advise all participants for all games to be in the hotel by 1:00 PM CST.
Edit: I have also changed the SSF4 rules to state that the winner must keep same ultra as well as character. This is to coincide with EVO rules.
Now, for those of you who don’t want to scour Hattiesburg for a decent place to eat before/after/during the tournament, here’s a few of my recommended local restaurants, in no particular order:
Divine Swine (BBQ, price range: mid; destroys all other local and franchise BBQ)
Sake Cafe (japanese, price range: mid-high; the best sushi in Hattiesburg)
Sushi Fusion (japanese/chinese buffet: price range: high; this happens to be quite close to the venue if you feel like dropping $15+, and you can get all the made-to-order sushi you want with the buffet)
Jaybirds (pizza, price range: low-mid; cheap stone oven pizza with great toppings)
China Buffet & Sushi Bar (chinese & sushi buffet, price range: mid-high; much cheaper than Sushi Fusion and yet just as good on everything but the sushi, also very close)
Everything else is a franchise. There is an Outback Steakhouse within tripping distance of the hotel, and a Wendy’s within tripping and rolling distance. There is also a very close local place called Plaid Rhino, but I have yet to eat there, so I can’t comment on it.
Plaid Rhino has some kick ass roast beef po-boys…and Olive Garden is right across the way if you like that sort of thing. Getting pretty excited about this. Good luck to everyone.
yo this Hotboyrob i might be coming to this.
