Just thought i’d let you guys know that Hyper Street Fighter 2: Anniversary Edition is now avaliable on FinalBurn to play on Kaillera. I sure its only a matter of time before it comes to mame and kawaks. So if you see me running this game, its not fake.

Interesting I suppose. Been a long time since a new game came out. Still, AE didn’t get a great reception. Japan replaced all the AE machines with ST ones again since people got sick of CE Bison and it’s been dropped from EVO again as well in favour of ST.
99% of SF2 players will say ST is a better game than HSF2, but… in the UK for some strange reason hsf2 attracts the crowds, its the 3rd most popular fighter behind 3s and T5dr. And consequently hsf2 has been chosen over ST in all large UK events Even with ST on Ps2 now, i doubt it will change. Heads like playing CE and HF characters. Even as a ST ranking battle organiser in England, i have say if we switched to Hsf2 ranking battles we would get twice as many people turn up.
The game was dumped ages ago, I guess it was just being held back to support the console releases - which was a good thing.
Played a nice session with r3ko earlier - the game is good fun for casuals but i’m certainly sticking to ST when I want to be serious.
Which Final Burn you guys using? I got it working on Nebula, but nothing else…

Also, just a heads up, the bittorrent hsf2:ae “package” contains a virus. My McAfee found it and cleaned it when extracting, but beware.
:edit: Any suggestions for getting fb evo working? I got 3.03, but it says i’m missing important game data, such as hs2ax.03, hs2ax.04, etc etc. Any help appreciated.
Actually, this version was only dumped a week and a half ago. It was dumped from a bootleg asian phoenix edition board.
The older official dump is unemulated since Raz hasn’t released the XORs for it yet and probably won’t for a few years still.
Changing the zip file name to hsf2a.zip worked for me.
Um, the zip file already contained a .zip extension. I tried using this game on FB Evo, and I too couldn’t get this to work on this emulator. It works on Nebula, but not on FB. :wtf:
For all those interested. Kawaks1.57 is out now supporting HSF2. Only problem is you the XOR file to make the hsf2a.zip rom work. Now i have the link for it, but i don’t know whether or not its allowed to post Xor files. Even though its not a rom, i don’t wanna risk getting banned
I like how Raz decides to release the XORs for this only a day after I said he probably wouldn’t for a few years. Christmas comes early this year.

My rom was originally named hsf2d.zip and wouldnt load with the missing files error, then read somewhere to change it to -a and theen it worked for me.
The way I did it is that I extracted the files from hsf2d.zip and then I copied and pasted them into the hsf2a.zip file, and it works.
