Yeah. Also, remember that the US T5 stick uses the original HRAP layout in which the gap between the stick and buttons is bigger
I don’t think anyone answered this guys question. I have the same question.
How comparable are apples and oranges?
How is a HRAP and HRAP2 without modding it? I want to try to get use to a japanese stick as i think it will definetly help my execution out.
Ah, I was talking about the JP t5 stick, which has the same or very similar button layout to the HRAP2 afaik and a sanwa stick. Sorry for not being clear about that. Here’s a picture of the insides of the jp t5: http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20050408/ggl49.htm
On a closer look at the pictures, it seems like the stick has been moved a cm or two closer to the buttons on the HRAP2?
Thanks for answering the question tho guys
Say I want to put button plugs in the two end holes, what would I do with the remaining wires? Surely I wouldn’t leave them loose would I?
Nope, that was a pretty bad idea as I found out by trial and error during the modding of the two HRAP1 I own myself. I ended up using a piece of rubber hose and electrical tape to insulate the loose quick disconnects and then I taped the wires to one of the sides so that they wouldn’t rattle around.
Ahh, okay, thanks. There is 2 quick disconnects on each button, does it matter which one I attatch to the pins?
Edit: I had an idea. Could I just reconect the dissconnects to the buttons and fix them down inside the stick to prevent clogging up the disconnect with the gum of the insulating tape?
Edit 2: The mod was a success. There’s one thing pissing me off though. The wire that comes out the back came loose and I can’t push it all tghe way back in again. I now have the bottom plate sticking out where the wire is. Anyone know how I can get it in fully and make it flat again? Both me and my step father tried and we can’t push it in any further.
Does Himura sell oct. gates? If so, they would make my mod of the HRAP2 perfect.
Forgot to answer this D:
What made the screwins so hard to fit in for you? I either just put the button in, and span the “bolt” onto the button from the most accessable side, or put the bolt over the plate hole, and screwed the button in from there. The bolts between the buttons touch abit to make it more difficult, but it’s still fairly easy…
Thanks for the detail review. Reading this was the final thing needed to purchase a hrap2. What do you think is the best way to play with it, on your lap or on a table?
I have a quick question
If you put the LS-32-01 or the LS-32-02 in the HRAP 2, will the stick be the same height as the sanwa JLF? or will it be much shorter?
thanks
Are there dealers online that sell a LS32-02?
It seems the same height…Although I can’t properly tell because I have a bat on mine.
Gold reaver, get in touch with The Real Neo Geo. He should be able to help you out.
Hmm, a few more questions:
Can you turn that stick into a octogonal gate stick? And what’s mostly used in arcade? I hear lots of different things from lots of different people namely:/
Well, from a standard LS-32 it can only be used either 2-way or 4-way (shooters - Fighters). It uses a different kind of restrictor plate to the JLF, so I don’t know about 8-way. Personaly I think the LS-32 is nice in 4-way, more so than the square resrtictor plate of a JLF.
Iirc games like GGXX, KoF and other Atomiswave and Naiomi games tend to use Sanwa sticks, where as others like A3 and 3S use Siemitsu. Of course this is in concern with japanese cabinets. I haven’t a clue what the americans do with theirs, probably just stick a Competition or 360 in there for fighters.
But are those sticks squaregate or octogonal?
When you buy an LS-32 it comes with a blue piece of plastic on it which is the restrictor plate. You can either use them 2-way (left and right) or 4-way (square) like I said. Whether you can get an 8-way restrictor plate for an LS-32 I’m unsure, but you can’t use an octagonal plate for a Sanwa, that’s for sure. The one on an LS-32 is screwed on, not clipped on like Sanwas JLF.
GoLD-ReaVeR
I can get LS-32-01 (it says LS-32-02 on it wich is the same ^_^).
Ok, now there is no restrictor you can buy for the LS-32-01, you are stuck with the one you have. Also, it is always like the “4-corner” sanwa gate but the blue gate on it makes it either 2-way or “full-way” as I call it ^-__-^.
Sanwa in japanese cabs always use the squaregate, never the octagonal BUT the octagonal is nicer in my own opinion.
I’m not ordering anything yet, I had a total cost of nearly 200$ ordering the HRAP2, So I’ll be out of money for a while.
