[HRAP 4 Kai] new PCB less input lag?

I just got my HRAP 4 Kai PS Version new on sales for 90€ from french ama and it’s the new version with PS3/PS4/PC Switch intead of only PS3/PS4.
It has also new matte buttons. Think it might be a new PCB. Is it performing any better then the one in Teyah’s lag tests ? Or is the version in his tests already the new one ?

Don’t care about such silly things like input lag tests and just use the stick.

Care about making sure that all inputs work and all button combinations are smooth and you get no dropped inputs on complicated combos.
You saw the other thread where someone tested two RAP4’s and they both were dropping some sort of input identically (not every time but often), and on a madcatz TE, the execution was 100/100.
I don’t know anything about this but you can read for yourself and make your own conclusions:

i have madcatz TE and hori hrap vx(ps360+) for the lastgen. so get used to the input lag could be a problem for a while… but it could be a new board revision now because the switches on the side are different. maybe hori fixed lag and skipped inputs problem after one year hrap v4… mad catz TE had many board revisions in the last gen. and the input lag was better and better after time.

Well you own that stick and TE and a hrap vx, do you feel lag between them? Just play with each of them and see how they feel.

don’t know exactly because hrap v4 has hori buttons. they feel different.

good news! the new hrap v4 kai with matte buttons and pc switch has a improved board (according to neogaf). lag issues fixed

Is there a direct link to that thread?
There doesn’t seem to be a search button on neogaf…at least I can’t find it…

just some posts in this thread http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=483428&page=289

"I wish I had it on hand, but Teyah told me Japan did some tests on the stick and it had less delay. You don’t have to believe me, it’s just what he told me since he hasn’t been able to test it himself yet. "

"Yeah, I believe that Teyah.net said that some Japanese players were seeing significantly reduced lag with the new Hori sticks when using a test similar to the one he uses. However, we still haven’t seen any numbers posted. "

and it makes sense to me. hori redesigned the buttons and fixed pc support issues because of user feedback or at leaste from their hori pro team players… why not fixing lag issues?..
i guess teyah will add new ones to his resultpage soon because it seemes he is informed about that fact.

the hayabusa stick is a new rev. , too.

luckily i got the redesign from french amazon. on sales price is so good

but the packaging is from the old rev. they still write about kuro buttons. and the new ones are hayabusa like the stick.
don’t think this stealth update is a smart move from hori…

I would not take what posted on Neogaf with any seriousness.
Some guy said that Teyah said that some Japanese guy is highly anecdotal at best and at worst just a random rumor.

but it makes sense to me. the stick has now 3 way switch with xinput pc support added. so it might be a new pcb…

why fixing the other issues and leave the biggest disadvantage ?! a year of experience should be enough feedback.

The “xinput pc support” is true and it makes sense how there games like Street Fighter V and Killer Instinct on the PC that will not use Dinput.
Both I blame on microsoft for making Xinput the way it is, to work the Xbox controls into the PC environment when Dinput PnP HID devices work fine already.
Probability because PnP HID devices are now generic and anyone can produce it, Xinput is something MS can control.

@Darksakul Does Killer Instinct support cross platform play with XBOne?

I think the pcb are improved, my PCB is 1.1 or 1.2 (I posted the photo in the theme) and teyha’s is 1.0, I wish prove the pcbs more “scientifically” (i don’t know put 2 cables in 1 button) but in easy form, I put the GGXRD-R game (ps3 version), tried grab (Is a 1frame grab), hold direction and tap in the same time the HS button, if repels each other, they hit at the same frame, if not, no.

Vs a qanba top “input lagless model”, loss 3-4/30 times hori (ps4 mode)>qanba , with brook ps3/ps4 1.5.1, 8/30 brook>hori (ps4 mode).

The input lag is never accurated but the “speed” is no shit, that’s for sure.

do you have the version with ps4/ps3/pc switch or only ps4/ps3 ?

ps4/ps3/pc is the new one. it came out earlier this year.

lever is a new rev., buttons are new much improved rev. and the sidebuttons layout changed. not only the new pc option. the order of the sidebuttons, too. PS button is now last.

Microsoft’S Play Anywhere initiative will arrive this autumn (supposedly 13 September ). Killer Instinct for now on the list of supported titles.

But I would not trust Microsoft, it seems to be they are going back on their word.

Only ps3/ps4 but it’s work in pc too, I bought on February.

The ps home is in the middle.

Ok well, than it’s the old board with Kuro buttons. The new one has this great new matte Hayabusa buttons. They are now on sanwa level. Think hori fixed most of the disadvanteges of the old one. Whould really be nice if teyah tests the new. If it’s input lag is now about 4-8 ms great :). Because not only neogaf recognizing that the new one is reacting noticeable better. Too bad that i don’t have an old stick to test it. You could buy a new from ama france for sales price and than return your old stick in the packaging within 30 Days. No one will notise that B)… if it’s still in new or nearly new condition and not opened…

And you could test the diverence by your own

My stick have Hayabusa button, that for sure! so isn’t it the old old.

okay… than we have more than two versions…

Wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve been rolling out newer PCBs with less lag since at least late last year. The VLX we reviewed seemed to perform favorably vs the TE2 when it came to lag.
