HRAP 3 SA - HRAP EX SE: $89 at Amazon?!

The TE stick comes with Sanwa stick lever and buttons… all you need to do is go to the damn Madcatz website and look at its specs OR Google/Youtube “madcatz tournament edition review”.

They mean Shooter games like Ikaruga ect. But the FPS game quote is just some marketing bullshit. There are different types of games you can play with arcade sticks, they aren’t limited to only fighting games.

Also there’s a unique feature about the LS-32 that you can try out. You can remove BOTH gates entirely and just use it as a big circular gate type of feel. You can do this because it uses levered micro-switches unlike Sanwa.

I’ll try that out later and update you guys on how it feels.

I’m actually a huge fan of the square gate. I was an avid Happ user. When I switched to a JLF, it was one hell of an adjustment. I hated how it felt. Over time though, I couldn’t imagine using anything else. You just have to invest the time in learning to use it. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong though. I suppose it’s preference.

Yeah I just found it neat that you CAN do that if you so prefer. You get like 5 different gates stock with an LS-32, very cool.

Soooo any way to get this EX-SE to work with MAME? New Hardware Wizard can’t find any drivers. . .

It uses the default Xbox 360 controller drivers that all 360 sticks use.

What OS are you using? If you’re using Vista or Windows 7, it should have/get them automatically. if you’re using XP, or just want to do it yourself, get the official MS drivers here.

Install it, then plug in your stick and it should be found.

Haha I was hesitant to download from MS cause they wanted a genuine OS check :frowning: but that MS site doesn’t care about genuine OS and everything is A-OKAY!

i’m pissed… i saw it for 139.99 before so i bought one on ebay for 129.99, little did i see the fine print of CA sales tax so i wound up paying even more than i would with amazon. then i see that sale a few days later at 100 bucks, then drops to 89…so fucking pissed T-T

anyway to make these sticks work on both systems?

What all Semitsu sticks will work in a the HRAP 3 SA? From the research I was doing I was thinking only the LS-55 or LS-56 would work without modification. I came across a past that said an LS-32 would fit in an SA but not a regular HRAP. SO I’m just going to ask here. Point me in the direction of the right thread if I missed an obvious one.

Ok if I’m understanding correctly, the Seimitsu stick will NOT permit me to use an octagonal gate, just a square or circular one. Now, let’s say I wanted to swap out the stick and buttons for Sanwa parts. Could I then use an octagonal gate? Basically I’m just curious if this stick is pretty customizable, compared to the one I have xP And also, is it really difficult at all to get used to a square gate? Does the precision seem awkward only at first or will doing like QCFs always feel…I don’t know…different?

Thanks a ton so far with these questions, I’m hitting up Amazon ASAP…I guess they’re butts and don’t accept Paypal T_T Off to find someone with a card =P

Dual Mod?

If have HRAP 3, HRAP 3 SA, HRAP 3 SE, then add Common Ground Xbox 360 Controller PCB.
If have HRAP EX, HRAP EX SA, HRAP EX SE, then remove Hori PCB, add Cthulhu, add Common Ground Xbox 360 Controller PCB.

For standard Shaft Height, these Seimitsu Joysticks go in HRAP 3 SA.
Seimitsu LS-32-01
Seimitsu LS-40-01 with SS Mounting Plate
Seimitsu LS-55-01
Seimitsu LS-56-01 with MS Mounting Plate

You are right that Seimitsu LS-32(-01) not go into HRAP 3.

Mounting Bracket in HRAP 3 cannot take Seimitsu LS-32-01 unless modify.
Either modifying the Control Panel by drilling holes, or modify Seimitsu LS-32-01.

Here is how to modify Seimitsu LS-32-01 to fit into HRAP.
http://erwin1.blog64.fc2.com/blog-entry-14.html

Because HRAP EX SE has Seimitsu LS-32 Joystick.
Seimitsu LS-32(-01) does not have available Octagon Sub Guide.

There is Octagonal Restrictor Gate available for Sanwa JLF.
There is Octagonal Sub Guide available for Seimitsu LS-56(-01) (fits Seimitsu LS-33, LS-55(-01) also).

HRAP EX, HRAP EX SA, HRAP EX SE is non-Common Ground.
So you will find that the Joysticks have wires soldered onto Microswitch, instead of using Wire Harness.

So just telling you now, that if you plan to swap Joysticks, be ready to use soldering iron.
And then also modify the PCB of Sanwa JLF.
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=6426326&postcount=20

The link is for using with Wire Harness.
So not using Wire Harness, DO solder wire to where said not to solder and solder Red Dot.

Or find a Sanwa JLF-TM-8, which is the Joystick used in HRAP EX and HRAP EX SA.
Or replace the whole Sanwa TP-MA (Microswitch PCB Assembly) with four individual Microswitches.

Buttons have Quick Disconnect.
So that is good to go.

Easy to customize.

You have HORI Fighting Stick EX2?
I think you mistake when you Post:

Whatever that means.
That had me confused.

You didn’t mention what it is you wanted to buy.
You just said this Stick or Mad Catz TE.
That is ambiguous.

Well that’s fantastic news. Unfortunately my cell phone seemed to decide right now was the best time to suicide so I may not have the spending money to order one. Even at this price getting the Seimitsu parts I want would still propell the over all price skyward.

I’m wondering this aswell. My main question is for people who have used the Hori Fighting Stick 3 or EX 2. Is the throw engage on the LS-32 similar to that of the joysticks in the Hori FS3 and EX2?

Another question I have is, are these buttons like the buttons on HORI EX2/ Fighting Stick 3?

Also does this stick have a mounting plate that can fit a JLF?

no, these are seimitsu PS-14-Gs

I should’ve phrased that better. What I meant to say was do the Seimitsu PS-14-Gs feel similar to Hori stock buttons. I hear a lot of negative feedback of these specific Seimitsu buttons and I am curious to find an unbiased opinion.

Oh. Well the Hori buttons always feel sloppy to me. These don’t feel like that, but they do have noticeably more resistance than the Sanwas. One thing is for sure though, they are NOT quiet when combined with the hollow case of the HRAP.

K, thanks for your input.

main thing about the PS14G’s is that they’re totally flat. Like the oldschool cabinets. I dig em, but I dig Sanwas and PS14GN’s (which are different) too.
