Quick question: I see lizardlick is selling Seimitsu LS-40 w/ the wire harness, could I swap the mounting plate to the “s” type mounting plate and mount it on my HRAP2? In (anyone’s) opinion is the LS-40 a bit looser or tighter than the LS-32?
I’m not really sure about mounting the LS-40. You might be able to do it, but I don’t know if you will get the right mounting height. Maybe you should ask around for the correct mounting height.
I just bought a 45mm balltop for my stick with the adapter and I was wondering how exactly do I put it on? I know this is a dumb question but I don’t have any modding experience and I don’t want to kill my stick.
EDIT: okay I’m stupid I forgot to read the first page…sorry
Maxpound did you notice any difference between the 45 and 35mm, like say the throw range?
Well, the throw range is the same(I think it is) but it feels a lot different. It feels MUCH more sensitive then the stock ball top. I’m guessing because of the different size and the weight it makes the stick move around easier. Youll need the adapter if you are going to go for the 45mm though.
I’m more interested in knowing will the added weight eventually shorten the life of the spring because it seems like it would.
im kinda new to this stuff, thanx fellas for the faqs and the good questions!
i have a few questions though. I have a brand new HRAP 2 and i plan on modding the pushbuttons and joystick.
correct me if im wrong, but would Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm be easy to put in? and i need 24 mm start/select buttons? Joystick wise, i would like to have the clear ball top, the Seimitsu LB-39 to be exact. Is there a way to simply replace the stock ball top with this one? if not, can someone please explain how to get one in there. Thanks
From what I hear, PS-14-KNs are easy to put in, except for the X button, which you may have to sand down the nut a little to fit. Start/Select are optional, but yes, they are 24mm. And the Seimitsu LB-39 will fit on the stock Sanwa JLF that comes with the HRAP2. Just unscrew the old ball and throw on the new one. Read my guide on how to do it.
sorry to bother you again tingboy, but 2 last questions. What is so special about the LS 32? And is its balltop removable like the rest?
Seimitsu LS-32(-01)s have a shorter throw. They’re standard in SFIII: 3rd Strike cabs in Japan. I just bought one to try it out and eventually stuck with it since I liked it more than the stock Sanwa. And yes, the balltop is also removable. I removed the pink top that came with it and put on a purple bubble top in my tutorial.
The reason I like Seimitsu LS-32(-01)s better than Sanwa JLFs is because they are stiffer and don’t “rebound.” Also they are cheaper and the square gates on Sanwas feel less suited to the stick than the ones on the LS-32 which means you will probably have to spend another five bucks to purchase an octagonal gate.
Ahh, forgot about the stiffness. =P
Just a quick question…
I’m worried that the stock Sanwa JLF in the HRAP 2 will get worn down after some intense usage. How hard would it be and/or is it possible to put in another Sanwa JLF stick to replace it like the Sanwa JLF-TP-8T from Lizard Lick? is it just a mtter of unscrewing the current stick and simply screwing in the new one and reconnecting the pin connector from the PCB?
Thanks
yes, though you will have to pry the glue off of the 5-pin cable.
Yeah, I gathered that much from this tutorial. I’m just glad it’s possible and fairly easy.
I’d go Seimitsu but me trying to do double quarter circle forward on a square gate = epic fail, thus I like the sanwa sticks since I can get the octagonal gate.
Great tutorial. Those clear seimitsus are utterly beautiful.
For that very last part, I recommend some black electrical tape to cover the switch holes from the inside. Looks sleeker than paper =P
Thanks =). I’ve done this since the tutorial was made.

The LED is just placed behind the buttons for now. I’m planning on placing 1 LED in each button.
that is one amazing stick ting. im gonna order my buttons and stick later this week. thanks for the faq.
how complex/ difficult was it to get those LED’s in there? plan on making an faq for it lol? what would i need?
thanks for the faq man its great.
Instead of electrical tape, use thermoplastic tube, it’s “cooler” to handle and gives a pro finish.
Albert did you change your balltop/buttons? I remember playing on pink ones lol
Goodshit on the lights though, I may buy those Seimitsus so my stick would feel like how you described “Sex on my hands” haha
For now, it’s a very crude mod. All I used were 2 wires and an LED (I’m using a white one). Basically, I shoved the wires into the end of the PS2 cable that goes into the PCB. I used the +5v and Ground pins and just wrapped the other end of the wires to the LED, then taped it down to the bottom of the stick. I’ll take a picture next time I open up my stick.
Yea. My old buttons were made of the purple base and pink plunger. I just swapped the plungers back. I think I’m going to buy some Sanwa switches to put in my Seimitsu PS-14-Ks. I’ve always liked how Sanwa buttons felt.
