show her how to do jumping roundhouse, sweep, overhead/throw/meaty dp when they get up…rinse and repeat and she has a good chance to beat some scrubs

I told my girlfriend to pick Cammy, showed her a few moves, she insisted on doing the first two or three hard trials, and then I’d sic her on people I found in player matches who sucked. You’d be surprised how well you can do with Cammy against people who don’t know what the fuck they’re doing.
I think that one dude had it right, the biggest problem she ran into was that she hated losing. Luckily I bought Flower on PSN and that was a huge hit.

I tried teaching my wife how to play this, but after an hour of her spaming Tiger Shots and Fierce Kicks she said “This game really sucks” and took it out and put Virtra Fighter 5 back in and proceeded to beat me like I stole something. Some how I am married to a VF1 - 5 player.

IMO, anyone you’re introducing a genre of game to, you should start with the basics: earlier games. Alpha 3’s a pretty game to start off with because it’s a hell of a lot faster than 2, and there’s a ton of characters and ways to play.

I taught my 4 year old (at the time) niece to toss ReppuKens and Fireballs, jump over oncoming Reppukens, and even do the occasional DP.
News flash: Female noobs can learn the same way Male noobs do.
I think part of the problem is girls aren’t motivated by the same things guys are. But that’s just a thought I’m throwing out there.
