How would you teach Street Fighter 4 to a girl?

^agreed.

There are a handful of girls here in Socal who could teach a few guys how to play SF4.

Yes because the posts are dead serious, and they actually hate all women.

Also the thread inst completely retarded :stuck_out_tongue: as though SRK would have expertise on teaching women to play SFIV.

it’s super dynamic cooking time!

Tell her to think of it as clothes and shoes.

Dragon punch is Prada, and beats out spin kick which is payless.

Ultra is Jimmy Choo, so tell her link Prada to Jimmy Choo if she chooses Ryu

Seriously I think to teach anybody how to play fighting games just start with anti-airing. That teaches reaction, identification and correct response.

this is why girls stay away from games in general, you 40 year old virgin

**Funny.

hands nycg a chocolate milk**

g - r- url?
what’s one of those?:xeye:

girls are not that interested in strategy games, its not just street fighter, there are much fewer women in poker and chess as well. The question is pretty dumb though, you’d teach a girl to play just the same as you’d teach anyone, statistically its just less likely a girl would be interested/committed enough to invest in the learning process

The old fashioned way

I taught my ex how to play SF. Or actually, I taught her all of chun-li’s specials and she thought that was neat. When I tried to start explaining the importance of footsies and other things she said “Look… I’m going to just keep doing the special moves”. So there you have it.

EDIT: I would like to add that I did get some shortly after that.

My method.

Here is Chun Li
Here is the A button
Here is the joystick

Move foward and press A rapidly.

Same way you’d teach a guy? Unless she’s your gf and really not interested in sf4, then try and sell it on the ‘fun’ characters to begin with. If she’s not in to it, she’s not in to it though.

Lol were you really expecting a serious answer?

im trying to teach my gf to play atm (her choice) so im teaching her the special moves atm but having execution probs atm (she wants to play chunli) not the easiest character to start on but she still wants to play a lot even though she hasnt got the consistency down just yet.

Give her a dollar and throw her in CTF sounds about right. Really though, you would teach them the same way you teach a dude. It’s all about being interested in learning the game and sticking with it in the first place.

Tell her girl gamers get a lot of attention from guys, even if they’re quite ugly.

I know a lot of girls play games for that attention.

This will motivate the girl. Then just teach her the basics of doing moves and fundamentals of a fighting game.

The Rules

1:First she need to be a gamer . It’s much easier to explain you see. If she basicly never touched a gamepad/Joystick or keyboard … forget it.

2:Don’t explain too much stuff. Let’s her play and when she get used to the gameplay(Like Jumping and moving Forward) , explain her some advanced stuff (Like how to do an Ultra  )

*At this point she might give up because it’s too much complicated doing an Ultra

3:Put the IA at Very Very Very Ultra Easy … She might stay if she can beat the first opponnent

4:Tell her to play Ken and spam shoryuken online when she learn how to do an ultra …

So basicly … after 1 month she will be able to …

Jump a Lot
Do shoryuken
and Ultra

Voila … She will win plenty of match online.

Remember that a girl playing equal of a 4 years old playing video game.

I’ll be blunt, any person has to want to play a game to actually learn how to play it.

If she sees it and goes “Whats that.” in a manner that doesn’t express pure boredom, show a few matches. If she seems interested, ask if she wants to try. Don’t be all over them saying “This is how you do this” and so on.

Give them the pad/stick and if they ask you how to do something tell them. It is about them wanting to learn, not you wanting to teach them, thats true of any situation
