How would non-Marvel characters have reacted to Civil War (registration, etc.)?

^ Nice avvie. Official/other?

S’more stuff. ** POTENTIAL SPOILERS **

Reid - Wants nothing to do with it. The last time he got involved in something big like that he was dragged on a 40+ hour quest he didn’t really want to be on in the first place, because he wants to live a peaceful life hunting wolves and sleeping. However, should the Civil War encroach upon his food supply, he’ll likely take action… for as long as it takes to secure that food supply. God I love Reid.

Farah - Despite her desire to make a difference in the world, she’d probably see the folly of interfering in the conflict and will stay out of it. For reasons clear to anyone who has finished Eternia, she’ll follow Reid wherever he goes.

Keele - Pro-reg. Superhuman registration makes sense to Keele and he’ll lend his knowledge of magic to Iron Man’s cause. After Spidey’s betrayal, Keele becomes Tony’s new protoge.

Meredy - Has concerns about getting involved, but will likely stick with Keele. She probably won’t want anything to do with the fighting.

Chat - A government paycheck vs. continuing life as a pirate. Hmm… I’m not so sure Chat would resist the benefits of registration. She’d probably be pro-reg and try to cheat the system at every opportunity.

Max - Anti-reg. He’s too rebellious to fall into line, and too itching to lead a rebellion to just do government missions.

Nate Grey - This is kinda breaking the thread’s rules a little, but, since not every Marvel character was involved, I like to think about what they’d do in CW. Assuming he was unmerged with the Harvester, the Shaman Nate would try to keep himself and his people away from the war. I could actually see him overseeing a refugee’s shelter on or just outside of American soil that welcomes superhumans looking to get away from the war. If, however, this is pre-Shaman Nate (during the Threnody/Spider-Man days), it’s harder to tell. Does he follow Spidey’s example and join the registration forces, only to rebel when he discovers the Negative Zone prison? Does he go anti-reg right away? Though I believe he’d ultimately join Cap, I don’t know how he’d get to that point.

Saiga (and Kagura) - Assuming this is still on-the-run-with-Kagura Saiga, he’d find a way to America and promise to register under two conditions: 1) Iron Man personally guarantees Kagura’s safety, and 2) Saiga’s eyes are treated (possibly with nanites) to prevent further deteioration while allowing him to use his powers. Iron Man agrees, trains Saiga to be slightly less lethal with his descructive photography, and sends sleeper agents to penetrate and take down Suitengu’s empire. Despite the deaths and conflicting morals, Saiga intends to serve Iron Man for as long as he can, using the money to give Kagura a normal childhood (though she remains under heavy guard).

Suitengu - Still trying to amass money with the intent to destroy it, Suitengu’s plans hit a snag when Saiga escapes Japan and registers with Iron Man’s forces. Finding himself under Iron Man’s investigation, Suitengu arranges a phony suicide, transporting his money and bases of power to America. Working behind the scenes, possibly with the Red Skull’s help, Suitengu continues his quest to amass wealth with the intent of destroying it all, crippling the world’s economy. He still pursues Kagura, and still keeps the evil PM of Japan in his sites. Suitengu runs into a major snag when he encounters Wolverine, who manages to defeat Suitengu and force the villain to realize, “oh shit these guys aren’t dicking around!” as he gets away.

Shiki Tohno - stays out of the war, cursing his dumb luck for moving to the states JUST as Stamford blows up. Secretly fights villains while not giving away that he has powers, but is caught on video and visited, personally, by Iron Man. Shiki tells Tony he has to sleep on it… and runs, looking for a way out of America. He knows his powers can seriously fuck up lots of people. Unfortunately, Tony pursues, and Cap’s Secret Avengers help Shiki. Grateful, but still unwilling to join the war on any side, Shiki thanks Cap and wanders, remaining hidden. Eventually joins and stays with the Secret Avengers after the war ends.

Warakia - gets his ass permanently destroyed for looking at Dr. Strange the wrong way.

It’s Official, it’s Chun-Li’s loosing character portrait in HD Super Street Fighter II. Only PsychoSquall colored the image in lol!

First thing i thought when i saw this thread was preacher. He would probably tell stark to go fuck himself. Heh.

Who is “preacher?”

Jesse Custer from Vertigo’s Preacher. His voice is The Word Of God. Basically, whenever he tells someone to do something with The Word, the person must comply.

You gotta read Preacher because it’s just too good.

sounds kinda sacreligious, though (in my personal tastes after reading the comic’s Wiki page)…

The Sandman would drink a beer and then Singapore Canee everyone.

Preacher’s premise is sacrilegious. I’m a Christian, and I know it’s blasphemous. But I also know it’s entertainment, and it’s not like Ennis (the writer) is constantly preaching his own personal worldview on every page. I mean, there’s definitely things in the story that are, y’know, redeeming values, or however you want to phrase it. It’s not like it’s just this totally negative, hateful, worthless story.

The Autobots would go pro-reg to show the humans they have nothing to fear. The humans would also probably make them get driver’s licenses too…

(Cue sirens)
OPTIMUS: Aw, not again…
CHP: Excuse me, sir. Do you know how fast you were going back there?
OPTIMUS: I’m sorry, but if I don’t hurry, Megatron will destroy the city!
CHP: Uh-huh. Show me your license and registration, please.
OPTIMUS: (sigh) Fine. (Transforms)
CHP: Oh… shit… Umm… nevermind…
OPTIMUS: Thanks, human!
CHP: Man, I gotta go on vacation (Sees Jazz speed by) Oh shit, a Negro! I’m gonna need back-up!

The Decepticons, on the other hand, would team with the rest of the neutral villains who had their own interests, and then attempt to destroy everybody

The God-Emperor would not allow the Civil War at all.

He’d destroy Tony Stark’s mind and begin to launch a planet-wide empire.

Marty McFly would be anti-reg at first, but he’d get with the program as soon as somebody calls him a chicken.

Doc Brown is a perpetual outsider to the establishment, so he would be anti-reg all the way.

I’d say Superman would be pro reg, but then Batman would beat some sense into him (as usual) to see the light and then be on the anti reg side.

How exactly does Batman beat *anything *into Superman?

Batman + Prep Time = not to be questioned.

Ash from Pokemon would be pro-reg, while Brock would be anti-reg.

Brock would take one look at Ms. Marvel and then he’d be Pro-Reg. But maybe Misty would grab his ear and drag him back to the Anti-Reg side.

Batman is a force to be reckoned with. He and Supes are usually on the same side, but occasionally they tangle–and it’s Superman’s contest to lose. Bats is an unscrupulous son of a bitch, and he keeps kryptonite handy for those rare occasions.
