Chuck Norris wouldn’t join either side. He’d roundhouse kick whoever came near him.
Sorry, I had to throw it out there.

Bruce Lee wouldn’t join a side. He’d just beat them both.
Megaman and co would be pro-reg. Protoman wouldn’t give a shit. Too busy lightin up.
Most of the Maverick Hunters would be pro-reg.
… Except for X, who would go emo and lock himself in a capsule, and cry to himself wondering why this is happening while slitting his circuits. Whiny bitch.
The Boogiepop Phantom would be anti-reg, probably set up a situation and kill everyone to restore the time flow.
edit
I just had to add this.
Starscream. He’d join with the pro-reg thing, sooner or later, he’d overthrow it, then get scraped.
I think Starscream is a perfect candidate for the new Thunderbolts.
The same goes for Balrog (boxer), Birdie, Sagat, Vile (MMX), Tuxedo Mask (as a mole), Lex Luthor (was plots for world conquest obviously), Seto Kaiba (his trash-talk no matter whether he wins or loses is just too attractive for Osborn to pass up), Sasuke, Illidan, and some of the bad guys from Scryed.
Teen Titans - Most of them being young they would rebel against the government much like the Young Avengers. When things get hot and heavy I can see Wonder Girl (blonde one) jumping ship since she’s still upset about Superboy’s death and all and wouldn’t be able to take the pressure, going Anti-Reg. This would put a strain on the possible Wonder Girl and Tim Drake hook up oooh…
Jason Todd - Would take the exact opposite side of whatever side Batman picks, anything to go up against him, he’s bitter oooh…
The Joker - you know, I could see him being pro-reg and asking to be a part of the Thunderbolts just to mess with the entire country. On a side note, I just re-watched the JL episode “Wild Cards.” I loved it… but there’s no way the Joker would be messed up by Ace. Didn’t the joker completely resist Scarecrow’s fear toxin once? Isn’t the Joker so messed up that most Marvel psychics would be batshit frightened (no pun intended) to even consider probing his mind?
Kazuma and Ryuho from SCRYED - Since they now have an uneasy rivalry-friendship, but a MASSIVE distrust of the government, they are so totally anti-reg it isn’t even funny. The issue is, would they have meshed with Cap’s Secret Avengers? Ryuho might have. Kazuma? No chance in hell. Kazuma would work on his own, and Ryuho may consider the same after Goliath’s death partly to stick with who he knows (Kazuma) and partly because Kaname probably had Ryuho promise her he’d look after Kazuma. Too many Ks in that last sentence.
The Tick - pro-reg at first, anti-reg later. Would invariably get his ass kicked by things somehow way stronger than he is, just like in the cartoon. Is probably strong enough to beat Clone-Thor down.
Ramza Beoulve - totally anti-reg. Would probably help Wolverine uncover some of the shit going on in the war’s shadow. Might find out that the Zodiac Stones and evil priests are behind a looming threat. Would ultimately emerge too late to have any real impact on Civil War, and would return to exile soon after, flipping Edgar’s coin to decide how heretical he really is when faced with his sister’s advances. :looney::wgrin:
Abel Nightroad (Trinity Blood) - similar to Ramza, sans the incestuousness (unless the manga makes Seth more clingy than she is in the show). Investigates the war rather than participating in it. Invariably ends up helping Wolverine somehow. Slips into the shadows at war’s end.
Classic Green Ranger (Tommy) - joins the secret Avengers but always has “something to do” before the big fights. Ends up helping in the end of every fight. Sticks with the underground after the war’s end because he’s stubborn and won’t betray his ideals. Worried about Goldar’s new appointment to the Thunderbolts.
The Magic Knights from Magic Knight Rayearth - Fire chick and water chick are anti-reg. Wind chick wants to be pro-reg but won’t abandon her friends. Lantis wants nothing to do with shit, but moves to Mexico and pwns SRK. Hilarity ensues. (I couldn’t resist )
Jason Todd is such an emo.
Is Nightwing still part of the Titans? Honestly, with his mindset lately, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pro-reg. But I agree that the Titans have no desire to stick with a registration protocol.
Nah Nightwing is the current leader of the Outsiders. If he did go Pro-Reg he would probably leave them since the Outsiders kind of operate outside of the law, would be funny if he had to hunt down his old team members.
I think I’m having some kind of flashback.
I think the Tick would be pro-reg first, not understanding what it is, have an epiphany or sorts. Missing the point and thinking the government is trying to control everyone and make a speech about how that’s bad. Tick would be a force to reckon with though, since well, you just can’t beat the guy.
Spawn would probably just avoid the whole deal altogether, to him that would be stuff for other people to deal with, if he did get in the fight, I’d expect someone of immense strength to pull him limb from limb eventually. He’d come back, just not after losing an arm or two.
More or less, yeah. He’s more or less immune to any and all types of poison and too screwed up for psychics to probe. And since he was mentioned…
Inspector Gadget: Pro Reg, but due to Penny and Brain (and his own bumbling) would wind up being more help to the Anti Reg side.
Carmen Sandiego: Neutral or Anti Reg. Steals the Negative Zone prison and Stark Tower on the same day and hides them on Planet Hulk.
Awesome thread with awesome replies. sano, what you said about Disney characters had me
-DBZ-
Goku: Anti-reg all the way. He loves to fight powerful opponents and be free and since he’s a bum, I can’t see him doing anything for a pay check.
Vegeta: Anti-reg. Even though he mellowed out a lot by the end of DBZ, there’s no way he’d be the gov’s dog. I doubt anyone would really come after Vegeta either, considering that he (and basically all the heroes in DBZ) can easily blow up planet Earth. You don’t screw with someone like that.
Krillin: Pro-reg. He’s got a family to raise and 18 would probably put pressure on him because of the money.
Piccolo: Wouldn’t care because he’d be looking down at the world from the Lookout and thinking to himself “Fools.”
-DC Characters-
Darkseid: He’d use the opportunity to invade Earth and be amazed as Batman roll cancels his Omega Beams.
Batman Beyond (Terry McGuiness): I could see him going either way since He has a family, a girl friend, a best friend and a mentor to protect, he could easily go pro-reg.
Invincible: Even though he works for the government (from the last of what I read) it would only cause trouble for him. Last thing he needs to worry about is his alcoholic mother getting killed. His dad would be for it since he would believe that being registered would help his misssion.
Battle Pope: Only one person has the right to have this kind of power…and his name is God!
…
Unless he decides to go pro just so he can find out who Spiderwoman is and hook up with her.
Tenchi Muyo!: Tenchi would most likely go pro for it since he’s always safety conscious, even though revealing everything about his guests would be hard to explain. Ryoko…Fuck that, she’d go awol. Ayaka would be pro since she still holds the government and her position in high regard (maybe to spite Ryoko just a bit too)
Team Ichigo/Aizen: Anti-reg.
Gotei 13: Split down the middle~
Pro-reg:
Yamamoto
Chojiro
Soifon
Marechiyo (would be useless to either side imo)
Byakuya
Komamura
Tetsuzaemon
Mayuri
Nemu (mostly out of loyalty to Mayuri, defection is a possibility)
Anti-reg:
Kira
Kenpachi
Yachiru
Hisagi
Ukitake
Shunsui
Nanao
Hitsugaya
Rangiku
Retsu?
Isane (99% likely to follow Retsu to w/e side she chooses)
Kiyone/Sentaro (likewise w/ Ukitake)
…And I probably missed 1 or 2 somewhere, but it’s too hot and I can’t think too clearly right now.
non-Marvel characters (probably Capcom, from their game-inspired involvement) aren’t mutants at all, but probably would still be perceived by the general public (in Marvel’s universe) as “freaks”. So they still wouldn’t tachnically be concerned by the registration act, though I’m sure villains, such as Bison, would make an effort to tie their own desires for power into the pro-registration force’s corrupted ways…
I?d wager most of Marvel?s heroes are un Akuma?s beatability range.
If the teams were the Avengers or something, yeah. But most of the people in the whole mess were no Avengers.
There was no real Thor, Hulk, Surfer, Captain Marvel, Gladiator or any other rather powerful superhero. There was…Jack O?Lantern and a lot of other mid-tier and street-level people.
Sentry was easily the most powerful person in the whole thing. Then Herc and then maybe Ironman.
I?d say Akuma could take the new Venom or most of the people in the CW one-on-one.
As for my List:
Superboy-Prime: Would take this as even more proof all the heroes are actually villains beside them and destroys Earth with one punch.
Doomsday: Plows through everyone until we get a Death of Sentry storyline.
Albedo: Would set himself in the middle of each fight and laugh as he?s destroyed again and again but regenerates.
Shinnok: Would use this chance to lead his legions from the Netherrealm into Marvel Earth and begin conquering.
Hulk Hogan: Would give Tony 3 punches, a Big Boot and Leg Drop.W ar over.
I too think Gouki/Akuma could take out a lot of Marvel characters.
He can sink an island with one punch. (Ryu’s ending, SFZ2/A2)
He cracked Ayer’s Rock with one punch. (His ending, SF3 Second Impact)
He can remain underwater for a fair amount of time and sink a submarine. (His ending, SF3 Third Strike)
The Shun Goku Satsu allows him to travel to Hell with his opponent for a brief second.
Strength wise he is up there. That boulder Ryu is carrying in SF3 Third Strike in Oro’s ending, an actual boulder like that weighs about 8 tons in real life. And we know that Gouki is stronger than Ryu. I’d estimate that he’s in the 15-20 ton range.
I think he could give Spider-Man (who has a sucky record against Martial Artists) a good run for his money, Captain America too. Iron Fist+Daredevil possibly, but Martial Arts in Marvel work different than Capcom/video games/anime/manga so that one would depend on the writer. Iron Man, Sentry, Hercules, Ms. Marvel are all people he’d have trouble with. Clor just sucks so he doesn’t count.
But if a bunch of heroes jumped him at the same time yeah he’d have problems, though there’s a good chance he’d murder at least one of them in the process…
I think he would stay out of America and avoid Civil War like Specs said though, doesn’t seem like something that would interest him. If Registration became a Global phenomenon and if they were able to spot him there’s no way he’d register or join the Anti-Reg side - joinng teams is not his style. There’s a good chance he’d wind up in the Negative Zone once Iron Man either figured how to take him down or after sending in a bunch of Initiative people after him…
There are Marvel characters who’ve already experienced hell, been punched by Superman (or any other superhumanly strong being), and who can live underwater, so Akuma’s not really so outstanding. Besides, Evil Ryu is just as powerful as him (and I think there are other Street Fighters who are more powerful than both)…
Carefully not trying to turn this into a versus topic so I am speaking in general here…
Lol I didn’t mention some of those guys who you are talking about, I am mostly dealing with people who participated in Civil War afterall. There were lots of Marvel heavy hitters missing from that ordeal. Silver Surfer, Doom who has a get out of Hell free card was no show, Nova, Thor, Hulk, Ronan, Thanos, nope, nope and nope. CW was Sentry and a bunch of weaker guys.
We have no idea how strong SNH(Evil) Ryu is because storyline-wise he only gave into it one time briefly to scar Sagat. If you are talking about manga, anime, Udon’s comics, I suppose that’s another case but in none of those places has SNH Ryu defeated or even tied with Gouki, I suppose you can make a case for SFA Generations kind of… (but he did turn to “light” at the end…) Versus games have no real official story to speak of and his appearance in the SFZ/A series is kind of a “What If” scenario soooo…
Whether or not Gill, Oro, possibly Ingrid, maybe Vega in SFZ3(M.Bison in the US) are stronger than Gouki is unknown and up to speculation. Stuff like this usually boils down to “Which beyond human act do you personally think is the strongest?” Traveling to hell? Sinking islands? (Gouki) Regenerating yourself and being able to create and uncreate fire and ice? (Gill) Time Travel and being a God(Ingrid)? Taking on a small army of people before being taken down and having a screen filling Psycho Crusher? (Vega) Living for over 140 years and having the biggest fireball in all of SF? (Oro) I’ll skip over again Gen since most likely he’s dead by now…
In the end that one is up to you. Though Capcom doesn’t seem like they want to mess up Gouki’s image as being powerful by flat out loosing at the very least. Well there’s Kairi in SF EX Land that killed him in that universe I suppose. But he’s still alive and kicking in regular SF games at least.
Since I just finished reading Death Note lol!
Yagami Light (Kira) will be Pro-Reg because he believes in inforcing the law. He will start writing Marvel characters down in the Death Note and killing them off, but it will be minor characters no one cares about, you know, just like Marvel did during Civil War.
L would be Anti-Reg because he doesn’t like to be controlled. However before turning he would work with fellow braniacs Tony Stark and Mr. Fantastic and would eventually figure out that Light is Kira and bring him down, Misa too oooh… they just go to jail because without the Death Note they are useless. Light Yagami will hide a piece of the Death Note on his person but he will save that for the right time hanging on to it for years… all I can say is don’t worry too much about the notion of Apocalypse ruling the world MWAHAHAHAHAHA… and don’t think someone as smart as Light will remain in jail forever either. :badboy:
Iron Man gets hold of the Death Note (let’s assume Misa lost her Death Note to make things less complicated) and has a meeting with the Illuminati about what to do with it. They divide the book pages between all of the members just in case but swear never to use it just like the Infinity Gems. Prof. X was out during this time, Namor was bitching so he was away, so the peeps that have pages are Tony Stark, Dr. Strange, Mr. Fantastic and Black Bolt. With Dr. Strange being Anti now, things are split so Tony can’t use it without Dr. Strange doing the same.
Ryuk decides to chill with Dr. Strange for the most part because of all the mystical stuff around him he’s the most interesting.
KIRA OWNS ALL!
