Yes everyone else play Strange last because they don’t know how to play him and they would rather play it safe because Strange’s defensive options coming in are weak.

Yes, I have grown much better as a player thanks to him as well.
Played against Chris/Spitfire Twice with a point Strange team today, that matchup suuuucks.
I had Unibeam and Missiles but neither of them were helpful against that team. I had to completely concede the ground game to Chris and resort to attacking from the air, which is really hard.
Basically, all I could do was super jump out of Chris range, deploy yellow graces, fly, deploy more yellow graces, and fire them off and hope I can teleport in that way. Keeping pressure after that is hard because Chris’s cr.M will beat just about anything Strange does, and will easily punish any wrong move.
So yeah, Chris-Strange is totally in Chris’s favor. Unless you guess right on a grounded gun fire (which no Chris will do in that matchup without an assist) or are willing to use X-Factor to get a quick kill, that matchup will blow up Strange. You have to play much more reserved and abuse the area that Chris can’t shoot at.
For me, you actually said why I think Strange wins, he can’t touch you when you jump up and yellow grace. Sure, his magnum can cut through mystic sword and eye, but if you bait it out a teleport equals a full combo.
This isn’t a problem for Chris if you just play around the fact Strange can’t hit a moving target. If Chris opts for super jump gun fires, you can’t punish it normally. You’ll certainly never get an assist out properly. Chris dominates Strange anywhere where he can shoot his guns, and the area that he can’t is Strange’s weakest area. It doesn’t help much that Strange can stay there for a while because Chris just has more time to set up his game and prevent you from doing anything. Besides, all Chris would have to do at that point is super jump up and air throw you if you tried this. Or if he had missiles or vajra, you’re screwed.
Where do I begin? lol
First of all up close you can frame trap Chris Redfield so easily.
From teleport L or M range you can do St M. IP. FOF and you’ll be out of range of his best poke which is cr.m
It’ll allow you to Mystic Sword L + assist at a safe distance or dash IP + assist + teleport his whiff or even crumple a counterhit
If he pushblocks st.m immediately shoot out a FOF. It’ll stuff any move he attempts start up. He has to remain ducked or upback. Which gives you time to call assist & teleport again and repeat a frametrap
When Chris Redfield SJ’s dont forget you can teleport H, fly & call an assist. or jump, fly upback, assist + port
Chris Redfield has zero mixups and zero mobility.
There is no reason to not upback him or frametrap him to death.
Also because of his team composition there is literally no reason to not just XF kill Chris Redfield. Unless you are afraid of Spencer or anchor RR lol
Strange players need to get over their fears. Get rid of people who press buttons and breakdown peoples team compositions by order of who is a bigger threat to Strange and his zoning.
I have every blockstring/frametrap from corner to midscreen from upclose to tele L M range from standing to crouching.vs every character.
Strange doesnt have bad match ups only match ups that are 5-5 at worst.
Frame traps are not a matchup advantage. Even if it was, Chris has a great throw and is known for killing off his ground throws. Frame trapping wouldn’t help. You can’t just use teleport L or M and attack from there because it’s highly punishable without cover, and you won’t get any cover without doing SJ height yellow graces which won’t even get you so far in the matchup. Calling assists won’t help either. At that point, I’m pretty damn sure Chris can just cr.M under a FoF if you so choose to fire one up close without the proper spacing.
Doing teleport H when Chris SJ’s is a bad idea at any time. If you do it while he’s jumping up, you’ll get blasted. If you do it while he’s going down, you’ll get air thrown if you try to land on him. Plus, he wouldn’t do a raw super jump gun fire without an assist, so having my own assist is out of the question.
Upbacking Chris gets you dead. So does frame trapping unless the Chris player is just stupid.
Also Spencer/Raccoon and Raccoon anchor are no joke.
Dr Strange is a frame trap character. Its how you maintain advantage in his match ups
lol The fact you dont know his blockstrings that maintain frame advantage shows you aren’t there yet in understanding how he is suppose to work
If you fire a FOF after Standing M. IP from teleport L or M distance (which implies the spacing range) he can not punish you with cr. m
Its a fact
You can keep people blocking for a considerable length of time while doing solid chip and leaving them in a punishable range if they try to press a button, backdash or airdash.
You should be able to counter everything he does with your zoning tools while staying outa harms way.
If he’s chucking a grenade you, sword M
if hes doing magnum, you jump over and do daggers L or put a grace
You teleport h over his sj guns, not when he just jumps.
You need to learn how to read and react accordingly
Frame traps require your opponent to react to work, it is not a fact of a character’s offense. And if you can’t threaten your opponent with a throw in your blockstrings (which you can’t at Teleport L/M range) then there is no mixup, thus no reason a frame trap would work unless your opponent is just stupid.
There is literally no blockstring that gives Strange frame advantage against a crouching character, and everyone is going to crouch Strange. The only way is with a grace the opponent is overlapping.
You really need to fight the matchup yourself to understand because what you are suggesting is not applicable. Doing an air Daggers is the worst thing you can do because it will just leave you vulnerable, and it’s not going to hit anyway.
Like I said, doing teleport H over super jump gun fire isn’t going to get you anywhere even if you do it after they shoot because you’re very vulnerable to air throws or any anti air in general. Teleporting again will just get you hit.
why are you so dense?
St.M IP FOF is a frametrap because Chris Redfield is out of range to press a button.
If he tries attacking out of crouch the FOF will hit him and you can dash in a bit and do St.M IP FOF again.
There is nothing Chris can do in that position other than remain crouched.
The mix up is what you do after seeing as how Dr Strange is in a position of advantage.
I dont even play your team and I could tell you what you could do
St.M IP FOF - Call Unibeam + Mystic Sword L
After that you could either daggers m, eye of agamotto, put out a grace, or even teleport h for an overhead that leads right back into a frametrap or simply land and throw
And you can easily react to jump gunfire with teleport h and call your assist mid air. lol There is no threat of being thrown. Unless you teleport vs an empty SJ instead of reacting to the actual gunfire.
In your case you could have missiles out and Chris wouldn’t be able to punish.
I akready know the match up. Everything I’m telling you is legit but somehow you fail to comprehend.
Been playing around with Strange/Ammy lately again. Trying to come up with some corner mixups. So far, you can st.M, st.H (call Coldstar) f.H, Teleport H, Yellow Grace, FoF. From here you can come down with j.H for the crossup. Really dirty, hopefully I can find more.
Strange/Dante wins from a distance. Just stay on the ground chuck sword M’s vs voomerangs and call jam session.
7 Rings vs Bolts will cripple his Strange
