Can someone help me on extending the combo using the Tron assist. On the second part of the video, how can I improve on dodging the soulfist and missiles or is it better hitting it with standing H?
That Tron assist seems to be low in hit stun at that point and it’s very hard to extend the combo at that point. The best I can think of is if the Gustaff fire is fast enough you could cancel the palm into flight or Eye and do something after the fire hits. As for the soulfists, you should cancel standing H into drill to move forward. I don’t know if drill cancels projectiles but it’s better to just move forward and get hit since you’ve already negated at least one or two in front and/or behind. You’ve minimized the damage you will take and at least now you’re closer to her with bolts backing you up. Hopefully this helps.
If you’re going to play Strange/Tron, put Strange on Bolts and Tron on Boulder. Anything else and you’re playing them wrong.
I’ll try to revise the Centurion Rush extension by using the Gustaff fire. On a shorter combo that I did, palm + call Tron, flight, palm and it connected but haven’t applied it on this one yet. I tried cancelling the standing H into drill, but sadly enough it didn’t nullify the soulfists. I guess I’ll just cancel into light beacon bomb or medium if I get a chance. Then sj.H until she doesn’t have any more meter.
I have Bolts on Strange but I didn’t like the Boulder for extending the FoF loops. Can you explain why I should pick Boulder rather than Gustaff fire?
Because this isn’t just about extending flame loops. Strange needs a horizontal assist to make anything work. Boulder is actually a very good choice because it goes full screen, only hits once (no damage scaling,) and up close, the startup is much faster because of the initial hits, so it doubles as a close range quick assist.
Trust me, I run this team to troll with. Tron/Strange is straight up nonsense. Use those assists.
Here it is, my friend just done editing it
Most of my team techs are in there
I actually watched through this earlier and got some crazy ideas. I’m guilty of not playing Strange as much but it’s still fun doing lab work around the character. This game just isn’t as rewarding to a methodical character unless you can flow chart through games. This video kind of sets that up using Strange.
Wow, great combos, practical tech, fantastic editing. I like it a lot. Nice job!
The fuzzy guard setup is very far from practical, and the “game changer” DHC is more situational, because the ensuing combo will build you no meter and the opponent plenty.
The fuzzy guard setup is a bit situational, but this team has quite a unique convert out of it.
I didn’t understand your 2nd comment
There’s really no way that fuzzy guard setup will work without an assist, and in that situation, you can’t DHC. This does however give me some ideas, I’ll work on it.
Anyway, spending 2 bars to do a Dante combo that will build no meter, and not even kill every character, is just not worth it in a lot of situations. If it’s the last character, fine. If it’s a problem character, maybe. The better option would be to Acid Rain tag back to Strange to continue the combo so you can get your meter back.
Actually I found a very nice property on j.L. While it seems useless, you can use it when almost landing on the ground. Teleport H with an assist, and instead of using j.H or j.S you can use j.L really close to the ground or use a c.H. It’s an almost 50/50 XD
j.L is better as an upward angled air-to-air, it has a lot more active frames than it looks, so it’s good for hitting air recovering characters meaty.
Also, it can be ducked by a lot of characters, so it’s pretty much pointless as a jumpin. If you want to do high/low 50/50’s with Strange, use flight.
Sure, but you have to confirm the corner asap. Myself, i like the idea of being able to kill for 2 bars + whatever strange will get, from anywhere on the screen. Usually when dante take the 2nd spot he already has more than enough meter, i dont mind burning it for the kill. (Saving my xf for other uses).
The combo does arouk 1.1 million, good enough to get the majority of the cast.
I ran this assist and nobody believed me when i said it was good. because the assist hits multiple times while up close, it opens up a word of mix-ups that people are not prepared for.
Hey GG’s Gefen! I would never expect to meet a fellow Strange player in real life let alone in my home state. Hopefully you learn a lot from playing our scene.
So many Strange’s at KGA. I’m actually impressed.
I missed most of it. Anything they were doing stick out to you?
Nothing in particular. Hiroshi G knows about the corner red grace trap, and put it to some good effect. Tenboss played solo Strange pretty solid. Nemo surprisingly got a lot more solid with Strange and puts him second on his team now to good effect.
It’s nice to see a lot of Strange’s upping their game to a playable level. There’s still a lot to master though. Snaketits has been learning well too. Starting to see a few grace formations getting popular.
