Helm Breaker plus horizontal assist, like arrows or plasma, that illusion thing is not going to help at all.
Otherwise, I really like the Dormammu and Vergil matchup stuff. It has already been pretty helpful.

Some people might know this already like I have…but for new people…
Dr Strange has a great double option select with jumping forward - H into J. IP
That on top of Dr Strange having one of the lowest if not the lowest os’es to the ground, means he can tech throws 1 inch off the ground easily & consistently. So its pretty good if you are fishing for a throw.
Been testing it on people who like to catch you in throw situations mid air like mags, wolverine, nova etc
I find that jump forward H, canceled into a J.FOF, can bait people into a throw situation where if they try to grab you, since FOF recovery is so good you can tech, do a falling I.P & a ground I.P or cr.m - Mystic Sword L while calling an assist all in 1 motion.
Jump forward H, J. IP, IP, S, TK Teleport H needs to also become a standard confirm against crappy long start up boxdash tridash movement
like Nova, Ironman, Trish, etc
Just some thoughts
The IP’s, forward H, and Tk teleport I understand, but is that S worth throwing out considering if you whiff or they block, you are absolutely getting combo’d?
you are confirming off jump forward h - j.IP
The rest is just the combo that follows afterwards
That’s a combo? Ohhhhhh, silly me.
Well, I wanted to write these texts and I finally found time.
Why you should use Flames of the Faltine:
Almost every Dr. Strange tutorial available says that raw FoF doesn’t have use, and it just exist for using after creating GoHs. I say the opposite: FoF is one of the moves you should use the most, and not just in the FoF loop, you should use it in the match itself. It’s slow, meaning that the opponent needs to find a way to evade it or block and you can teleport after for a simple mixup. Also it has the fastest recovery of all Dr. Strange projectiles. FoF can make a blockstring safe on big opponents. And while the opponent is finding a way to evade it you can safely create an EoA. FoF can be used to stay more in the air while you can still block and teleport after using it. It’s true a lot of characters can just duck under it so use it wisely (after they jump for example). It’s a lot better than Daggers. Daggers disappear when hit, doesn’t have good startup or recovery and leaves you vulnerable after using it in the air. I don’t think I need to say about using EoA everytime thinking opponents will just wait you to do it.
Why you should teleport after a blockstring:
Dr. Strange teleport is very fast but not safe. Button pressers will stuff you while in recovery. However, using teleport (specially H teleport) after a blockstring is a great way of creating pressure. If you notice your opponent is pushblocking too much, you can use the H teleport after a pushblocked string and hit them with air H or S. Don’t get too happy using this everytime though, if people start to notice a pattern they will punish you. The best is to mix this tool with Mystic Swords for safe blockstrings.
Agomotto is still the best move he has free since it’s the only non aerial move he has that’s heavily positive on hit or block and is basically like having a low durability Stalking Flare as a special move. Once you release it with impact palm you can always recreate it and release it again and basically just create a flowchart and a general constant anti rushdown and rushdown starting tool.
The other stuff is alright, but the whole point of the character is to get agomotto on screen. The agomotto is what makes him truly powerful in the neutral and is generally why he is rather incomplete as a character without it.
this is a horrible idea and i feel dirty when i misstime my safe stuff and end with a blockstring>teleport
I agree, but using it at unsafe moments makes you pay for it. That’s why you should cover before using it. Check Dieminion and his compulsive usage of this move.
Not at all. Try calling an assist before if you feel unsafe. Check Will Richards, that guy abuse this and get rewarded. It’s way better that whiffing a mystic sword L, for example. Obviously using those character specific blockstrings are way better…
If you have a big hit box assist like jam session or one that occupies space like hidden missiles that can easily help take care of those spots. Once you get going the opponent pretty much has to have a projectile invincible move or heavy invincible special or super to get around it. Especially since the impact palmed agomotto helps cover the start up of the next agomotto.
Once you get the first one out…the move basically covers itself.

oO blockstring into teleport is unsafe… jeez, dem stranges with raw teleport M neutral games…
adding an assist to the blockstring is another story.
Yes, myself use hidden missiles with Strange so I use the eye a lot. Dieminion has Dark Harmonizer behind him and the times he got stuffed before the eye come out are countless. If he at least create some space with FoF before… I respect his V.Joe so much but It’s clear his Strange is just an assist.
I know is unsafe, I just said that if you feel like you can H teleport after a blockstring for continuing pressure… Strange’s air H after H teleport has very good priority. If you have good execution and reaction you can do this also after a blockstring in the air. Against characters that can easily follow up a combo in the air (Magneto, Doom, etc), those with stupid normals (Vergil, Strider, etc), or s.L mashers it’s too risky (making a tool you should use sparingly). Also a thing people used and don’t use anymore is flying after a blockstring. Is that too risky?
There’s a huge difference between a raw Dieminion EoA and a assist/FoF/mystic sword M/ covered EoA. He can’t get it out once without being punished most times. But if its out, it’s there, and likely to stay considering its frame advantage compared to its startup. The first one is always toughest but the rest are easy mode. Theoretically, after the first EoA there should always be one out afterwards everytime which a lot of Strange players don’t attempt because they want to be flashy or think their character is sub-par if he’s not always running mixups.
Eye of Agamotto is fantastic but its still match up specific. Its great if you have it out and get it out but Dr Strange is a walking toolset. Every button and every special serves a purpose in various match ups, its about putting together what you need for each match up. He IS THAT specific.
Heck a couple match ups, the best thing to do is simply remain crouching and wait in defense mode so your in a position to punish or start ya offense.
Although Dr Strange is considered unsafe, his neutral is one of the safest in the entire game.
Also Will Powers is good, amazing combos but he plays extremely wreckless and unsafe. He teleports like a madman with no thought behind what he should actually be doing.
Yo long time no see
I’ve been doing some matches in the last week and got to record some of it so here it is:
<a href=“http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZ6eQnYt3dE”>youtube.com/watch?v=eZ6eQnYt3dE</a>
pretty bad execution by me, dropped all my FoF loop attempts.
(part 2,3 4 are in my channel)

I’d answer it GameHova, but as you asked Strange/Thor, I’d say our expert on the subject got you on that one.
summons Serpentaurus
team changed lol to Task Strange Thor.
I made a new combo video!
It’s Mostly Nemesis stuff with Bolts assist, but there’s a bit of Strange in there too. He’s mostly my assist/anchor character, but I have a few thingies for him in there.
