Spencer/Strange/Vergil might be really good too. Gotta hit the lab.
One thing they are not pulling out with that team - probably because they’re not using Strange for that much long - is end a palm-loop calling Spencer, hitting a s.M into Palm to crumple, hard tag Spencer in and bionic arm into otg-bounce zip-zag and manouvers. It’s a great way to develop meter for a ToD and get Strange back off the field.
I’m still waiting for somebody to really show off what I think Strange can do in the neutral with the right assist. We’ve seen Strange be really strong as support but he’s still been like a really fair version of Dark Phoenix when he’s out on the screen so far. We’ll see. I guess Marvel just doesn’t give him enough time to really flood up the screen like I think he can. Least so far.
Yeah, Yipes’ old Spencer/Vergil/Hawkeye team put in the work. I’m sure that team will be nasty since it does buttloads of damage all around.
It’s gonna be with Doom assist for defensive play and Ammy assist for offensive play like with what @serpentaurus does. He told me Cold Star gives Strange really tight blockstrings that go on forever or something, and with Hidden Missiles I can see some pattern-based zoning coming out of it a la Bullet Hell. But like, the more fair version. And with more 1-frame book reading involved.
At this point, we know Strange’s utility value, and now we just gotta develop the thing that matters the most in a match: neutral game.
Usually a character winning a major would result in hoard of bandwagoners jumping at the “new” tech. Fortunately for Strange, I don’t think it’ll happen because:
a) he requires execution
b) he requires the player to think
Pretty much my sentiments so far. So far Tenboss has the best neutral Strange out there but that’s only because he’s the only profiled player to do so. Nemo, on the other hand, may be the better player but he hides Strange at the first chance he gets.

I kinda adore this thread right now. I came here a while ago to try and learn Strange’s neutral, simply because I love Nem and Bolts, I currently am going Nemesis/Nova/Taskmaster, just because I’m way more comfy with Task than Strange, but I expect Strange to show up on that team once I finally get around to improving my neutral.
So, even though I don’t have him on my primary or secondary teams right now, and even though I’m not a hardcore-devoted strange player, I gotta say, this absolute lovefest over here makes me happy, as it is a huge inspiration to users of under-appreciated characters everywhere. X-23 and Shuma are next.
Which reminds me… looking back at Nemo’s matches and knowing how well Combofiend and Yipes did with Strange anchor, I’m pretty sure I said something a while back about theory Strange being one of the best utility characters in the game by giving strong offensive support and ToDs without actually having to play neutral game. Dat prophecy, lol.
Oh, and Skrull/Strange. Somebody should start causing fist fights with that team, because we all know now that Bolts is a friend of everyone who has a good throw.

I’m playing the DDD 3.0 team online, and it’s giving results - even with some Strange and Iron-Man expected drops - so let’s take the boys offline next weekend and see what happens. I’ll try to upload some stuff, even though my cap-card is busted. He can play a solid neutral with the right assists, and by right assists I’d say two out of missiles/drones/coldstar/arrows/unibeam/rapidslash/tatsu.
Just saying, Tenboss doesnt use point-Strange anymore too. He’s become an anchor. His new team is X-23/Dormammu/Strange.
Me and Dreize are the only lunatics left that still use him on point #Kappa
I’m starting to use him on point, but still get commonly blown up. Coming to terms on putting him in anchor soon but want to rep Strange than just a support character. If things don’t continue to work out I’m going to have to put Strange as anchor.

Are we all forgetting Vergil? Vergil/Strange is broken as shit.
Skrull is cheap as hell too, I recommended that duo to a friend and I just cried and cried at how irritating it was.
P.S: Second hit of bolts allows Skrull to say safe and combo off of raw meteor smashes.
P.S.S: I know Vergil is boring to use, but he gets wins in this case.
the secret to playing solo strange or strange with assists is pokes. cr.H > Mystic Sword M is a poke that Yipes and Combofiend should learn or implement in their neutral game and that shutdown wavedash approaches. s.M is also pretty gdlk with good air range and 6 frames startup. Still think X/Strange/X is the position for Strange to go.
Also correct me if im wrong, but i think Nova has assists that can help in Strange neutral. Nova/Strange/Amaterasu and Nova/Strange/Vergil are S tier teams that should be more efficient than Nova/Strange/Spencer.

Serp, Nova’s assist can set up unblockables with cr.H, can start flame-loops after palm ones (I think you need to add a cr.H after the j.MMHPalm parts for timing purposes but anyways) and in a THC, the Gravimetric Blaster will ‘hang’ the opponent. I used to play a trolly Wesker/Nova/Strange team with unblockables and all, it’s quite funny
I use Mystic Sword M all the time, if you delay it slightly people tend to get hit by it as well.
s.M into Mystic Sword L is also something I tend to do.
People need to use DoD L more, I’m telling you!
Grav pulse can help him in neutral.
Nova/Strange/Spencer is nothing great, Strange needs a better neutral assist.
