Do you have to hit that st. H in the same spot religiously or is there a margin or error? Because when I try it, the st. H seems to either make or break the combo.

Rule of thumb with st.H for spacing is hit as early as possible. It’s easiest off an Alzarath starter or anything that picks up the opponent into st.M, IP xx Mystic Sword L.

Called this. I do the same thing with Magneto (corner carry combo) TAC into Strange or I can TAC right back into Magneto with the infinite if I end Faltine loop early.

Blockstrings intro crossups and frametraps, thats how Strange get in. I have been developing a blockstring with Ammy coldstar, my goal is to develop an endless blockstring… so far i’ve got this

consider the other character will be blocking every hit, preferably doing advancing guard
s.M (call ammy at once), s.H, teleport M/L/H, grace M at once, EOA, Impact Palm, (the advancing guard will pushback strange), flame, teleport M, repeat…

Starting to pick up strange. Just need to work on the FOF loop. My execution is normally ass, but I hope to get this down.

I am pretty sure this is mentioned somewhere in the combo thread for XF3 combos, but I didn’t see it on the main page so I am just throwing this out there. I apologize if this is a waste of internet space.

I was looking for the fastest way to kill with anchor strange. (1.1 million) The XF3 loops posted are pretty flashy, but they seemed to take quite a bit of time off the clock. I’ve been doing a :l: mystic sword loop which took the opponent down pretty quickly. This can be done in the corner as well as midscreen, but the midscreen version is a little more tight on the timing.

Anything into grounding IP -> [:l: mystic sword x l: mystic sword dash] x 2 IP, :s: into the basic air series (with IP :s:) ender. You might be able to get 3 iterations of the mystic swords.

I am toying with a Tron/Strange/Deadpool team modeled a little after Abegen’s Tron/Thor/She-Hulk team. I believe the FOF loop is what will allow me to finish the Tron -> Lunchtime Rush -> DHC into Rings -> Finish Combo technique that Abegen does with Thor. (Tron -> Lunchtime rush -> DHC into Mighty Punish -> Finish Combo)

I am not sure if anyone has played with this, but if you have and can provide feedback, it would be appreciated.

almost breaking 1mil tac meterless with hag (600k) strange (398k) pretty sure i can optimized strange tac but hag adds so much hit stun

won’t work the same, spark H is unscalled and mighty punish has way less recovery than Raggador.

Raggador isn’t the problem. You recover in plenty of time. It’s because charged might strike has soft knockdown. I was just wondering if there was anything the good doctor could do after lunch time to continue building meter and dealing damage. I’ve yet to find anything to make it worth wasting that second bar.

Well, Hi guys! I hop around character discussions a lot, because I’ve been in a crisis of how to make my mains work. It used to be Nemesis/X-23/Hawkeye, but I was a terrible hawkeye, assist character only. Then I used Nemesis/X-23/Ammy, and similar problem occurred, my Ammy was okay, but really Ammy was only there for cold Star, and my first two characters were very vulnerable to fullscreen zoners like Trish, Doom, Chris, Hawkeye especially. He was angry at me :P. So, now I’m trying Strange, and I am in LOVE with bolts of Ballsack (don’t know the real spelling, never check movelists, lol). And I really want to get good with my mains’ anchor this time (I could always switch him to slot 2 for the DHC, but I doubt I’ll get much use from him neutral-game wise with my other assists), so I feel like putting some serious work in with Strange, and hopefully becoming useful around here after…well, forever.

So, I’m on hour 1 with Strange, and I got a lot of the basic combo thread’s OP okay. I figured out the anti-air combo on post 2, the corner combo for 700kish, the Ryan Hunter start to the Jump Loops, and the Alzarath starter to the Jump Loops. And I’ve found out how fun looping j.MH Impact Palm in XF3 is, my god that is fun. I’m not gonna even attempt the flames of the faltine loops until I actually learn what the hell I’m doing with his movement and stuff like that.

So, forgive me for not having delved through all the forum topics, but I see the starters to strange combos all being the same or similar, a few normals and impact palm. So, what I’m wondering is what Strange has along the lines of safe ground strings. I know the big plan is to stay away and annoy them, teleport when their pants are down and throw in the killing combo, but I want to assume they’ll block me at least a few times, and Strange is not Vergil or Zero as far as safety goes, no one is. So, safe ground strings, what am I looking to do if they block and I’m going for my cr. L L Impact, do I just need to reflexes mystic sword L, do I flight cancel and go for ghetto magneto stuff, any tips for a newbie to the good Doctor?

anyways, i play anchor strange with pretty good success. outside of assists, i don’t always get to use him because my first two characters usually kill the opposing team.

here’s how it works with being safe:
**first of all, **if they use advancing guard on you, congratulations, you’re safe.
:m: **mystic sword **is what you’ll mostly be ending midscreen blockstrings with. it’s -16 on block, but it pushes the opponent away. to my knowledge, it’s not punishable at all with exception the corner.
:l: mystic sword is for keeping blockstrings safe when your opponent is in the corner. this one is 0 (neutral) on block. the problem with this one is small characters can duck under it and punish you!

if you’re really having trouble staying safe, you could start your combos with :l: mystic sword. :l: or :m: teleport>:l: mystic sword, st. :m:, Impact Palm works great. i’m not sure if you can get a jump loop off of that, though. the combo i know is
:m: teleport, :l: swords, st. :m:, I.P. delayed st. :s:, super jump, :m: :m: :h: I.P. delayed :s:, land, :m: DoD, Sov.
not sure if that’s optimized, but i saw someone doing that online, and you can easily stop if :l: swords is blocked.

Ooh, thanks, I’m wondering there’s a way to start impact palm loops from a Mystic L starter. I’m going to do lab #2 with him later tonight, mostly for zoning purposes this time around, combos will wait until tomorrow, but thanks for letting me know what’s safe and what ain’t.

Also, EoA, would that be possible to set during a blockstring without them smacking me upside the head? Or is it just like Task’s 3 arrows, a risk/reward for positioning if the fool’s sleepin’?

And what of cancelling into Grace of Hoggoth during a blocked impact palm? I see it occasionally, and it looks idiotic, but does that actually work, or are the opponents just dumb as a stone?

Well in pretty much every scenario, if they pushblock, you’re 100% safe and they’re dumb for doing that (even though like 90% of the Marvel community knows how lackluster Strange’s normals are). Cancelling into a Grace or Eye could work if you call an assist during your blockstring to cover the startup or if they just pushblock.

for a while, i had a dr. strange avatar with that phrase as my title. i figured i was the only one who had trouble understanding him. guess you guys just don’t pay attention lol.

I didn’t mean to I promise! I spent like 2 hours maybe more writing down all the character I like in the game, categorizing them by point, assist, anchor, what space they control effectively, etc… and after a while doom and hawkeye just seemed like a no brainer, and it came down to strange or nova.

But are there any vids you would recommend watching of strange on point? And are you on xbox or ps3?

I think my new experimental team is gonna be Vergil/Strange/Doom. Gonna see if I can pull off MvC2 Strider/Doom levels of lockdown and chip. I think I can with Eye of Agamotto assist.

my new Dr Strange team is Chris (grenade toss L), Hulk (gamma charge AA), Strange (bolts)

team is gdlk, and Chris gets a painful bnb from bolts: cr.M, s.H, sf.H, s.S, superjump forward, j.MMHS, regular jump forward, gun fire M, land, s.H, s.S, superjump, j.MMHS, land, call Strange, brief delay, cr.H or sf.M (OTG), gun fire H (magnum + wall bounce in the corner), flametrower, s.S, superjump, j.S, j.magnum before of landing (ground bounce), land, flamethrower, hyper or THC. They have lots of synergy in combos and in the neutral game.
