from there I came a long way I think in terms of execution and proper spacing, the two-projectile-zoning with Strange stuff, started to play a more defensive Dormammu (even though I still go ham with tri-dashes during bolts of balthakk assist) and tried to never use footdives at all.
also on technology department, I upset a brazilian friend of mine who had propose a challenge at our brazilian boards. He wanted to see a team even make 1.150.000 starting from no meter or 1.250.000 starting from one without xfactor or TACs.
This team (which I call FilipinoStrange btw) kills Thor from nothing in stock while building an EXTRA meter. Check it out.

I need to develop more resets. There will come a day where people wont hit buttons coming in, and dark-hole+teleport wont cut the chase against pelican-button-pressers.
Lol, pelican button-pressers. In the corner I mostly just go for throw setups since I’ve been trying to get into the habit of getting Graces up all the time when doing corner Flame loops, and that allows me to combo off air throws all the time. It also OSes nicely with Impact Palm, which is an easy confirm into another Flame loop. If you use Cold Star assist at the start of the combo, you can get all three Graces and still have enough hitstun to go for several reps of the corner loop: something like cr.L, cr.L, st.M ~ Palm xx Grace, Grace, cr.M (call Ammy), st.H ~ Palm xx Grace into whatever. Still trying to work on corner lockdown stuff so I have more opportunities to open people up with overheads and such, but it’s coming along nicely I think. My team now is just so damn fun and I don’t think I’ll ever drop Magneto.
Dr Strange has an invisible cross up overhead with Dark Hole.
Not to mention something I call the levitation lock in the corner that becomes one big frame trap/block string sequence
Mazio if you run EOA assist, you can use magneto to lockdown your opponent in the corner for almost an eternity, as long as you do it right. Magneto beam as an assist is excellent to help produce your keepaway also
Strange’s H teleport recovers faster than the rest of his teleports. your idea is very good, I do this with magneto beam assist to pressure my opponent (not the invisible cross-up part)
If you use darkhole you can teleport H, enter flight mode, and just as they are outa blockstun slighty go forward and press S and he’ll cross to the otherside without looking like he moved at all. Its so dirty.
thats crazy VASaga, I’ll try that out later today.
in another news: Drebin’s tech created a new shell for any team. Someone/Strange/Vergil.
Any basic combo from my Mame-Strange team (Strange/Vergil/Doom) starting from 3 cr.L’s and not extending it to the fullest, the really basic stuff leads to a ToD of ridiculous proportions.
Any palm-loop+flame-extension creates at least 2 bars. With one from the beginning, that’s 3. After the SoV, you have a corner sword loop and two regular ones. By the end of these, you will have an extra meter to another loop. From a lazy-ass combo it goes to 1.350.000; from an ellaborate one, over 1.600.000. It is INSANE. I’m rocking Wesker/Strange/Vergil and Strange/Vergil/Doom besidees the Dormammu/Strange/Doom one.
AND PLEASE, COMMENT ON THE THREAD REGARDIND ZONING THAT I MADE, ‘DOCTOR DEFENSE’. WE NEED TO DEVELOP THE DERPNESS OF LONG-RANGE STRANGE.
Start moving backwards immediately, unless the opponent is faster than you and gets within throw/normal range. In that case, there’s nothing you can do other than try and throw them or jump over their head at the last second.
Eye of Agamotto is the cornerstone for Strange’s defense. Use his other zoning tools like Mystic Sword L and M to create space, call assists, setup an eye, the rest is kind of based on your play style and mixups. You can Impact Palm the eye, setup red or yellow Graces of Hoggoth, Daggers of Denak M and L, teleport cross up. Whatevs.
Lots and lots of people don’t know the Strange matchup. So you have the advantage as far as having the drop on somebody. That being said I had mixed results. I performed poorly in the tournament but did well in the casuals over the course of the weekend. Got a round in on F Champ, but got bodied plenty as well. It doesn’t take much to shut Strange down if he doesn’t have any momentum, and he’s not boasting any serious health. Plus he struggles with a lot of the characters that are popular right now like Spencer and Vergil. People may not know the matchup super well, but (and everyone else can attest to this)…
This right here is exactly why people should consider playing Strange in 2nd position before anything. Momentum is what makes and breaks a character’s success, regardless of top-tier status or not. Putting a stronger point character like Zero, Dorm or Magneto (who have a much better shot at building momentum early on) up front to build momentum FOR Strange and avoiding neutral game where he is much less threatening is probably a better idea in the long run. IMHO, Strange is a support/utility character; when he isn’t supporting the team with Bolts/Eye assist, he’s killing characters off Faltine loops and threatening to DHC into SoV for punishes.
DHC into SoV punishes makes it scary for characters like Morrigan to start setting up BS with Doom. Its very fast and bleeds alot. It also discourages Random Supers.
