I suggest just jumping in with j.MP (beats out s.HK most of the time) and then bread 'n butter all day. As he doesn’t have a shoryuken-move for easy reversal it doesn’t matter if your BnB-execution isn’t perfect. My own BnB-execution still isn’t perfect, but that way I beat most Bisons, Vegas, Abels and Balrogs.
Also meaty j.LK seems to work great when he’s knocked down.
Thanks guys, much like with viper and rufus I had no idea how to fight bison so I was trying all the wrong strategies and fighting like a idiot. Next time I fight agaisnt this bison player I will try the strats offered and hopfully we can see me 10-0 him lol.
I know how you feel. Sometimes I don’t know what to do either.
Here’s how I got beat by a bison player btw:

That SK is just a pain to deal with. And I have to learn how to use cw more properly. Also I dropped many links for hk/ex.ce>bnb. Not saying I can pull that off consistently, but I’m still mad.
you can punish bison’s scissors kick on reversal cr. lp -> rekka.
for me its visual but one of his scissors can’t be punished.
if he is long distance and trying to build meter with his jump stomp you can dash forward to cross him up and mess with him or flame kick him when he is deep in you.
how many of you can you consistently do lp rekka x3 (single no piano, or mixing different levels of rekkas) on both sides ? with a super filled at all times and not pulling an accidental super.
lk sk is not punishable, mk version (-5 on block)you can punish but depending on the distance though, while hk and ex version you certainly can punish since it is -8 on block but distance wise can have some effect
Rekka can’t cancel into anything except for another Rekka, so the only way you’ll ever get a Super is if you press punch after a Rekka has already completely recovered (as opposed to during the recovery).
You need to rethink the way you’re inputting it because you’re clearly doing something completely wrong in order for that to happen.
I read this guide and many other posts, spent 25? hours on Fei (have plenty more experience with other characters which I do not suck with)… I have come to the conclusion that Feilong sucks or I suck at Feilong. Just thought I’d save everybody the trouble, heh heh.
Training Mode with input visual enabled helps a ton. The two major problems with Rekka execution I’ve experienced were hitting the punch button too early or missing the diagonal input. After successfully identifying these problems, I was able to overcome them pretty quickly.
Strangely, I have no problem with lp, but I do have problem with the 3rd hp Rekka. It clearly isn’t a problem of input order, because I could see that in Training Mode. There’s something about the timing of that 3rd hit. I can mess that up every once in a while. I still can’t figure out if I was too fast or too slow.
Amazing how so many show up in the Fei threads after the Sanford thing.
People will hate on some character for whatever reason, “he cant do this”-“he cant do that”-----
with less than 100 views, in a year…
Next thing you know some random guy will come out of nowhere and get a Perfect on Justin Wong with
HAKAN and youll see 800 views in the HAKAN threads and now theyre talking about, ’ MAN HAKAN IS TOP TIER IM GOING TO MAKE HIM MY MAIN’ :blah: :blah: :blah:
Remember how nobody used Ken’s 3rd Super art in 3S, ( most people used 1 or 2nd SUPER ART) Well after the Diago/Justin match @ EVO
Everyone uses 3rd SUPER.
Theyre is a name for this kinda thing but escapes me for the momment
-Not trying to dis anyone …just putting it out in the open.
Luckily I think Fei is different enough that people pick him up after stuff like that then go back to their old characters. I’m still the only Fei main at Orange County’s Wednesday Night Fights and we have over 100 people there every time.
Maybe they play the Guile match once and go “fuck this” haha.
Obvious sign that the player is not thinking when he/she goes into the matchup. Heck, that’s a major issue with alot of people (not dissing anyone, of course). Alot of players play reactively and don’t apply any cognitive thought to what they’re doing. Apply that to your basic gameplay and watch your winnings go up by leaps and bounds.
Edit: One can perform a 800 dmg combo and hit each link 100% every time but it’s all for naught if he has no strategy to set up the combo in the first place.
Does anyone use the Super?? I must have played near a hundred matches with Fei and had the meter about twice. I’m Interested to see if players save it or use it.
i use the super in certain match ups or when im using U2
mainly use super against blanka for punishing his balls and chun because that sweep is just too annoying 0(-_-)0
i dont use Super too often. I mainly save it for FADC stuff due to the mind games it gives your opponent. If anyone is curious though, no i rarely ever use it for EX CW.
I actually use the super a lot. Depends on the matchup but he has a lot of ways to land it / set it up and it’s a pretty effective punish. I don’t intentionally go for it but if I’m not FADCing flame kicks I don’t really use meter (why would you unless its vs a fireball character?). Vs characters like Blanka, Honda, and a few others, it’s a godsend, as it can punish most special moves.
I’m thinking of writing an advanced guide for Fei at some point, but I’m not sure how much info I could include. Right now my ideas are like:
Defeating option selects.
Fei’s option select options.
Baiting, strategies, and tactics.
etc etc but a lot of it is subject to playstyle and your own types of decision making so I dunno. Input from other people would be nice as well that are experience with playing Fei at a higher level.
