I don’t want to start a new thread but I can’t find this anwer anywhereo n the net after three to four days of searching.
Anyone here use MAMWAH? I’m having an issue with the HORI where after an inpout (any input) with it plugged in and MAMWAH running, the menu for games just starts scrolling Up…and Up…and doesn’t stop. I’ve changed and tweaked everything I can find in the config file, and hitting ‘down’ doesn’t change a damn thing…help :crybaby:
I tried installing the drivers listed before but no matter what they never worked for me even after reading thru most of the thread, and the stick works perfectly fine with MAME. Any clue as to why MAMEWAH is being dumbe about up?
help, i’ve looked everywhere and tried everything.
i have windows 7 x64, and i can’t get my ex2 to work.
regular wired xbox controller works fine, and even recognizes the EX2 when plugged in, but doesn’t read any of the inputs…
hey what’s up everyone. i have windows xp sp3 and everything works in the windows game controllers test menu. as people have stated the joystick is a “hat switch”. when i try it on 2df the buttons work but the joystick doesnt for whatever reason. is this because of bad drivers that can be fixed w/ the drivers in this thread? or is this a problem with the program not recognizing the stick.
Hey what’s up everyone. A guy on #srktt gave me some sound advice. Thanks FiveAway. If your stick is config’d as a “POV hat switch” you can easily map it on MameUI.
I was never able to get the Hori Fighting Stick EX2 to work correctly on my laptop.
Windows Vista x32.
Tried XBCD and XBCD+ and joy2key and Xpadder and Microsoft’s Driver.
For some reason, the LT and RT Buttons just does not get recognized.
Tried to load the Profile that was linked on First Page too.
Set up normal buttons according to instructions, but for LT/RT go to “Triggers” and activate them (you don’t need to press anything, just “enable”)
And for the stick, you can try enabling stick, or you can assign directions to D-pad
Define each button to a keyboard stroke, and each keyboard stroke in the emulator
A little beating around the bush but at least it works
For SF4, it works with just plug and play --> make sure you use “Arcade Stick” settings in the control settings menu
Hey guys, I’m thinking about getting this stick but I heard that there were problems with the LT, RT from a post on amazon
“It seems that the XP driver recognizes the triggers as opposite analog inputs on the Z-axis. This quirk makes it so that a press of RT followed by a press of LT will result in a net gain of 0. It will be as if you never pressed anything. This means that any techniques that require 3 kicks to be pressed simultaneously will be unavailable to you unless you remap the buttons. This may be solved with a keyboard to joystick button assignment program. I haven’t tried that yet. .”
From reading the thread, has this been solved? I think the thread suggests it has but i’m not sure. THank you.
Any experiences with Horis and Windows 7? Haven’t tried with my EX2 yet at home. Just got it a couple days ago and it’s been hotwired to my xbox so far
If it’s so damn hard, I’ll just keep using the Madcatz TE for emulators anyway…thing is it’s so damn big it takes too much space on the desk.
i got everything working but im using a xobx 360 hori ex2 but i cannot change the buttons on mame witht he joystick.like i wanted to change the (up button) on my hori.but it doesnt working but when i move it on th xbcd setup the gamepad moves too.
I just got an EX2 in (SC4 version), and I’m running Windows 7 RC1 (7100 build).
I plugged the stick in, and everything seem to be working just fine. I tested all the inputs in the Properties for the device (even recognized by name), and everything works.
Haven’t tested in Street Fighter 4 yet, but if it works in Windows, I’m almost positive it will work there too.
I got this all working a year or two ago, but since I’ve reinstalled my computer, I can’t get it working. Most of the links in this thread are dead and the instructions for setting it up under vista are not very clear.
I’ve edited the XBCD.inf, but I don’t understand how to get windows to use XBCD drivers.
When I try to update the driver, there’s no option other than the default microsoft drivers.
EDIT: I got it working. I was looking under HID instead of Microsoft Common Controller blah blah blah.
But now the LT and RT buttons register as A and B and none of the other buttons work except start and back, even though the raw data shows them all working fine.
The configuration that I set in XBCD just gets ignored, LT and RT show up in windows as buttons 11 and 12, they show up as A and B in the XBOX tab, and the whole thing is just buggy trash.
It used to work so well before I reinstalled. What the fuck am I doing wrong?
I’ve spent 2 days trying to get my Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE to work with my vista and/or xp machines to no prevail. I have followed all directions here and downloaded the XBCDv107.exe file for my xp version instead of the nonworking file in the original thread.
Is there anyone out there that can get the Hori stick working now-a-days on either a Vista or XP machine? If so post here that you can and we’ll go into further detail!
Thanks so much, I’m seriously losing sleep not being able to play MAME with the stick!
EDIT: OK, so details.
I followed all directions, and when you go to Control Panal > Game Controllers. The stick shows up (by name) and tests fine. I can even use it to select games in MAME. I went to the settings in MAME gui and selected: Options > Default Game Properties > Controllers. I selected the option “Enable joystick input”, but (even after all that) when I enter a MAME game the stick does not respond to selecting the buttons or directions for the joystick controls.
Thanks again for any time and effort you give to answering this post. You guys are GODS among men!
just got an EX2, running Vista and cannot get MAME to read input from the stick. I can’t even get XBCD to recognize the stick so I can’t load any profiles. Any help?
