They should be easier to tech…
Honestly, I think the cheapest thing in the game is throws… You can do so much damage off them and they so easy to do.
Tired of being raped by newbies who air dash, light, then throw all day…
Any advice.

I’m not sure if this is correct, but I heard you cannot tech throws while crouching.
It also says this in the tutorial…
Yesterday I played against a friend and he got pissed off with my playstyle or something, so all he’d do is air/ground-throws. It’s super effective! For the first 1, 2, maybe 3 times. If you know it’s coming, it’s easy to tech. If you throw out a grab in anticipation and he tries to grab you, you auto-tech.
Just lost a pain wheel who just flew and spammed throw when next you in the air or ground… Some cheap stuff.
I’m gonna just go ahead and say you’re terrible…
Ground throws won’t catch someone in the air. Try jumping.
Throws are going to be a central part of the game, if Double’s reliance on throws and throw resets is any indication. I’d imagine after some point of playing you will eventually learn to recognize the cues that your opponent is going to go for a throw reset.
Hmm, wonder if that was me. Jump block, try to identify throw setups. If you’re blocking fairly well, chances are it’s coming.
To counter throws either tech them, or jump away. If you get thrown 10309 times a match then you need to learn to tech which the tutorial mode trains you to do. stop being lazy kid.
throws are insanely good, the range on them is amazing. so ot’s pretty natural to have issues with them. try to recogize situations where your opponent might throw and tech/jump. and work on tighter offense string that don’t leave big gaps.
yes member who registered last month. it is very cool to call people terrible in a game that came out a couple days ago. i am sure the 09 ogs will instantly recognize you as a true fighting game beast now despite your reg date.
keep up this attitude.
If you are playing against a Peacock who has three bars you can anticipate that she is going to try to grab you because the Level Three is awesome.
I find that the throw range is different for different characters. Some of a throw range that a bigger and I don’t realize that it is coming.
Just realized that the painwheel was using Buer Reaper + regular throws. He was grabbing from from the ground and air. Some superskrull stuff.
Well throws in fighting games have been around forever. Their main purpose is to go against blocking. I understand that in games now like Marvel 3 or Skullgirls where one throw/air throw is guaranteed damage/kill, that it can be frustrating to deal with. But until you practice how to tech, it will always be a problem.
-Practice in training mode or with a friend and get the timing down.
LOL… Whining about throwns being overpowered is so 1991…
But anyway, just be glad they are at least techable, unlike a few oldschool SF titles.
Well, the best thing about Skullgirls throw system is that if you think they are going for a reset, just hit throw. If they try throw you, it techs, if they block you get a free throw. Just don’t get mash happy because obviously you can still be punished, such is the mind game of fighters in general.
Dude you make me feel bad now, damn, the last like 10 different people i played i used hella throw resets. Dont get discouraged though, once you play certain characters and the game fleshes out you should be able to recognize the resets and react to them.
1.) When I registered has shit to do with anything.
2.) It is cool to call people terrible at a game that is a few days old when they complain about loosing to one single tactic and then calling it cheap, yup.
3.) I have no clue what an 09 og is.
4.) I called myself terrible at this game least 5 times since it came out, since I am quite terrible at it (my combos have to be relatively short and my hit confirmation ability blows). I expect nobody to call me a “fighting game beast”, and would argue if they ever did so.
5.) Do you have a registration date obsession?
6.) Attitude will indeed be kept up, sweetheart.
I used to be extremely free to throws in other fighting games, so I just started throwing people. I used every piece of throw tech I could find. Tick throws, walk-up/dash-in throws, reset throws, kara throws, standing 360s/720s (though that’s not an issue in this game). If your opponent is prone to using throws, then you’ll at the very least get thrown less often, statistically, because you’ll be teching them. Unless they’re command throws, in which case you should be jumping more.
They can’t be as bad as in ST. The fastest throw starts up in 6f, too, not exactly lightning fast.
Anyway, you should never be sleeping during your opponent’s combo, lest you get reset into another damaging combo. Also, know the throw ranges in order to recognize when the opponent is more likely to go for one.
