I don’t think it’s racist or stereotypical at all. Though, aren’t you stereotyping your own (apparent) nationality in your description? When I think Ireland, I don’t think that at all. I can sort of see where you are coming from, but why make a fuss over something so small.
Hahahaha. I’ve always wondered why Brazil is just like the CRAZY country to Capcom. Not only Blanka but Oro. Apparently Brazil is full of strange green people.
Never bothered me at all really, in fact I hope the can always include new fighters in the future from different countries with fighting styles unique to their region like a Krav Maga practitioner from Israel or if not new fighters, include new locations since there are many cool and exotic places around the globe even if Capcom has to get a little stereotypical.
I think it rules
Sean is just a silly scrub. Here we go: a perfect nod to Brazilians in overal games: loud, annoying and plain silliness.
Blanka is amuzing just for the lulz. Oro is pretty cool, though (he lives in Amazon, btw).
Im not making a fuss, I dont mind it, provided it doesn’t get to this level

:bluu:
I don’t know why but I found that hilarious.
Hey, its no worse then Gill stealing Dudley’s car, right ?
Well, that’s just the way the game is. I don’t think they make the characters like that with the intention of offending so it’s fine. I wish it wasn’t so stupid cartoony but whatever.
Paddy McSpud needs to be in street fighter 5. I think you are on to something.
That’s a stupid plot as well, I love Dudley though. He makes me feel like an embarrassment to England because I’m not an English stereotype. I need to work on that. Must grow a curly mustache and drink more tea.
To actually contribute to the discussion… I don’t think there is anything wrong with stereotyping characters as long as it’s done in good fun, I don’t think there are really any offensive characters in Street Fighter except maybe T.Hawk or Balrog, but they’re both cool so it doesn’t matter. If it was just a bunch of generic characters who happened to be from different countries Street Fighter would just be like Tekken.
Lars Alexandersson is Swedish, but there is nothing Swedish about him except his name and his blonde hair.
Raven is Canadian but there is nothing about his character to tell you he’s Canadian.
Nina and Anna Williams are Irish but they speak in American accents.
etc etc.
I’m not saying I don’t like Tekken Characters, a lot of them are pretty cool but they lack… stereotype
Well technically its Dudley’s dad’s car, his dad had run into from financial problems while Dudley was in college and had to give up everything including his prized jaguar(the car), so Dudley took up boxing, became the champ, managed to buy back almost everything except for the jaguar which had come into possession of the Illuminati which explains his SF3SI(as New generation was overwritten) storyline but yeah.
And yeah having his lucky charms stolen by Bison would make a good story for the Irish guy, that or he makes a new brew of beer and sets out in order to share it with the world lol.
That’s why one of Deejay’s colours has him very dark and his teeth and eyes bright white… and on the right stage it’s the only thing you can see on him… FUCKING CAPCOM!
I wonder if the French are offended that Abel is revealed to be gay in his new intro movie…
Well if he was Greek then it wouldn’t matter !!! lolol But since it’s french we dunno how LIBERAL they are!! lol
t.hawk = john redcorn = redskins logo = crying indian when you litter on the freeway = jacob from twilight
I’m an African-American, and I always hated how absolutely brain-dead stupid they portrayed Boxer. I understand that he was based on Mike Tyson, but it’s not like there aren’t some more respectable examples to choose from.
Also, I’m not Jamaican but Dee Jay strikes me as being along the same lines as “breakdancing black fighter” that people thought was cute in the 90s. (And no, it’s not capoeira. It’s more like the retarded crap you saw from Zack on Power Rangers.)
Except T.Hawk is the STEREOTYPICAL HOLLYWOOD portrayal of a Native Indian, they use a fricken Mexican.
Real NATIVE INDIANS reside in Canada, USA and Tuktiaktuk (the Eskimos in the NORTH)
when you hit Mexico you are looking more at the Incan’s and Aztec’s (Hence ElF’s new outfit of an aztec warrior)
if you think street fighter is racist then you are either a. too sensitive or b. looking for racism
I don’t really mind Dudley, being English and all. But English people don’t say trash, or at least no one I’ve ever met says it, more of an American thing. Is Diddles part American too?
Cammy is sort of irksome, with the silly accent and all, but that’s neither here nor there.
