How do people get so good?!

I am impatient :frowning: can’t say anything, Better work on moves

If you want to get good at Street Fighter you need to learn to be patient and learn to accept losing over and over again cos that’s what’s gonna happen. This ain’t no Call of Duty where you level up and get rewards for doing nothing. SSF4 is casual unfriendly, so do bare that in mind.

Ok, ya it’s also not a game where you can be shot twice in the face and still knife someone XD

Number one. If that ever happens you are using a shitty gun or your internet is on the same tier of failure as that gun.
Number two.

As stupid as this post is, theres some truth to it.

There’s the phrase “knowledge is power”. Understanding of the game makes a player good. Topic creator, if you just play the game mindlessly you won’t get any better. You say you have 2 days of experience but it might as well be 0 days.

Your right…because even a shitty gun wouldnt kill someone in real life if you shot them twice in the face…

Nope, Ive definitely improved.

Learn to hit the reply button. Call of duty isn’t real life though. It’s an exaggerated simulator of war. If every game worked the exact same as real life, the FPS genre would have stopped creating games as soon as the Insta-gib game mode in unreal tournament showed it’s face. SInce everything in that is a one hit kill, and actually taking a bullet in real life incapacitates most people, or does something which would hinder the usual duties of a soldier in battle. Such as quick movement or reloading.

This is off topic though. So drop it.

lol “learn to hit the reply button” right above is me replying to someone I understand what you are saying, I just quit Call of Duty because I just didn’t like the style of game play it had to offer. It isn’t a realistic game, but it is somewhat based around realism and it just gets annoying when you poke someone in the foot and they are dead, meanwhile lunging 20 feet, when you shot them in the face. That is why I’m here though, I don’t care that street fighter isn’t realistic, I just like the style of game play and it is nice to see a game where hard work actually shows instead of every noob being able to be good.

You posted that while I was typing my reply. I proofread everything so it takes forever for me to finish writing. I’m not sure why you took so much offense to me saying what I did in my first post. Unless your internet does in fact suck, and I hit a nerve.

Also, you don’t get very far from doing trials. You learn a few basics about the character, and some links or cancels. But you get better by practicing against living people. When you lose you can watch the replay afterwards and learn things. Such as “When I cancel an unsafe move into Shoryuken, they have all day to punish it. But if I cancel into EX Tatsu, they can’t punish it since it is safe on block.”

I smell a quitter

Ya, I actually have been doing that, I’m either in the training room or online now since the computer is nothing like people at all, people dont fall for ultras like computers do :O, for evil ryu now I can do the shoryuken FADC Ultra almost every time now…on the right side XD

Quitter?!?! Practice actually did help, I went from getting owned every fight, to actually winning a few now! I also went back to evil ryu, I actually did better with him than I did with sakura. I can actually enjoy the game now that I don’t just use hadokens and shoryukens the whole time XD

Shit…you are right, I forgot to reply again.

Oooooh you mean CoD… I just got that XD You can go look for yourself, I actually was good at Black ops 2, I just couldn’t stand it.

ANYWAY GUYS…

REALVINNYBLESS, you have potential if you just keep at it. Specifically speaking, I noticed that you don’t seem to know how to defend yourself on wakeup, and your tactics are far too repetitive and predictable. If you’re going to play against people you need to keep them guessing. Force pressure on them like I did to you when I got you into a corner. Force your opponent to make decisions, and learn when to back off and when to go in for the kill.

You seem to have some basic combos down and the like, and you seem to know how to punish fairly well, which is good. Those are important. But at the same time learn how to utilize your normals better.

Also between Sakura and Evil Ryu, I’d stick with Sakura. But play who you have fun playing.

EDIT: Sorry for taking a long time to rejoin the lobby…my pad won’t register HK to L2 for some reason and it was throwing me off. I have to play with R1 assigned to HK and L1 assigned to HP. Very annoying and it was fucking up my game. o_O

Just practice everyday one thing with a character you like. I’ve lost to characters ranging from Cammy to Dan. It’s not the the character, it’s how you use them.

The FADC just take slow steps
Do the move, repeat then just press cancel. Then dash. Then put it all together.

If you wanna get good and see how far you can go, just practice often.

No its not. outside of the numbers on the side, the name is legible to people who speak English. Tales of how horrible my name are, have become legend on this site. To add to my reputation, I invented the famous phrase “population pudding” which was approved by all of GD. You have a long way to go before you can challenge my name. Return to the mountains and train.
