Correction - mitsu won more matches in the vids posted (8 to wongs 6) but wong won 75% on the matches they played.
allright, i stand corrected…but if i recall correctly, Mitsu would have beaten Jwong in Evo but he messed up 4 times on the infinite i think. and Jwong must have been in “tourney mode” as magman calls it.
like i said in my previous post, a good sentstriderdoom can beat any team . Also, you said something about getting a hit with psy and the game being over, this apples to im/sent/cable also i guess, if you get a catch then infinite till death-guardbreak-infinite-pc-dhc hsf kill.
and it seems like you think Ironman sucks in any team. Play against BBhoodcontroller’s BBhood/IM/Doom. its a good low tier team

Well since this is the how to beat Blackheart thread, anyone got any advice on beating Blackheart/Doom with the team in my av??
BH loses pretty bad to Cable, BH’s whole runaway game is fucked thanks to random AHVB factor.
ok WOW!!, wat happen to this thread lol, i just wanted some tips on good teams to pick up on for someone my lvl and a team to be good against BH players. But after reading wat all you guys had to say it gives me a lot to think about and some really good tactics against BH players. But yeah i just want to know some good tips for someone my lvl thats all ill figure everything else out on my own like a good player should :-D.
High-Jin: I would come down to Stargate to play you guys in Houston but ppl like PowerDN, and vinnieman and Crow scare me lol. Plus i need to learn the basics before i even think about going up there to play MVC2
coos coos - u should win that by literally any way u start it. with storm just be a little more careful. holding u/f (her float moving forward) will make inferno miss if ur already floating, if it misses, let go, ad d hp, then whatever.
panda - not at all do i think im sucks, just that im not that afraid of him. one of the reasons why he’s not god tier is because its hard(er) to land a hit with him. you have to be in the right spot if u hit with cable AAA if u wanna make it gg.
yeah my av is mag/cable/cyc, i was winning against a good player with that team a while ago. doesnt really work on everyone and its not my best but i like it :). my top 3 teams are santhrax msp scrub mss in that order. even if u assumed those are the only characters i play, its still marvel characters.
You’re not supposed to be afraid of Blackheart. Fear is not how BH wins, it’s how Magneto wins in general. Be aware that I never claimed that Blackheart beats Magneto with any degree of consistency. To be blunt, if all things are equal, Mags beats the crap out of BH for S&G.
However, it’s so difficult for Magneto to get in on a good BH that by the time he does (and eventually, he will), the player is too mentally exhausted to execute the appropriate attack and four times out of five will be blown away by Commando or land on rocks or drones.
So, it again goes back to what I originally said. How does Magneto beat BH? Patience.
MagnetoManiac: I play good people with Storm/Sent/Cammy, if that tells you anything. My BH teams are only lower-echelon picks.
Hey quazy come to Sg its alright well teach u how to beat BH. And also help u out with your magneto. If u want we have MagnetoX, Buckethead, Ron-o all those ppl play Magneto. I personally own BH with Rogue and Tron. If u come down there this weekend for regionals u can probably play me and vegita-x and get some exposure. There is no one hit kill magnetos out there. He relies mostly on resets. I’ve seen the best of them and the only one hit kill magneto that I’ve seen is buckethead and it isn’t all because of magneto alone. He has ironman behind magneto and he does tag combos and kill ur whole team if he touches u. By the way if u come to stargate just ask the guy who u pay ur money to for Big Chris. And i’ll introduce u to every1 that way u dont have to worry about being scared of ppl. Crow doesnt even play Marvel and within 3 months we had him winning matches.
Tron assist only defeats people that insist on calling assists. And honestly, I’ve never fought a Rogue I was scared of. Ed Ma plays Rogue, and he’s pretty good, but it’s mostly his Magneto in combination with Rogue throw assist that kills me.
the best way i can think of helping you deal with blackheart is what dasrik already pointed out patience and i’ll add practice and experience.
Face it, mvc2 is old and overplayed, talk all the theory you want but any SMART/GOOD player already knows their team/characters own weakness before you do. What you are looking to exploit in a match up is execution mishaps from the other player, or patterns and bad decision making. As long as we are are human, we are not perfect and we will make mistakes, its just that some mvc2 players keep mistakes to a bare minimum (jwong >_>) , to me its all about who is the more patient and smart one.
If BH does this then mags should do that , all theory bs, no 1 player plays exactly the same as another, we all have our comfort and insecure zone and strategy but they all come from some basic fundamental of what we see works in other matches or vids on the net. Thats why i say practice and experience. Just like baskketball, you can spend hours refining your 3 point shot but if you never practice shooting it under pressure or stress or exhibition games, in a real game, it becomes obsolete. Same applies for marvel, the more you play and learn from your mistakes, the better you will be. Don’t train and play to be better then someone else, because there will always be someone better than you. Play and train to be better than yourself, i find that to be a more reasonable goal.
I am not saying not to listen to advice that people give you like if BH throws demons, then wave dash and do this. Its theory but knowing your available options is helpful, just apply them with the experience you gain and at appropriate times.

Well im in no place to talk but mag maniac is being very ignorant, and id prolly be thinkin the same things everyone else thinks when they see hes 14. But theres someone thats also 14 that plays here too, and hes exceptionally good w/ mag and storm. Infinites and tri jumps up the ass. He also kinda acts the same way in a sense. But we happen to have an anakaris player thats very good. So he stopped talkin crap about mid-low tier. Their both top 5 in our arcade. So im guessing he does know how to play, just that hes probably not have fought the best bh that he could have. This is not an insult to anyone, just sayin that there happens to be a really good young player in my area and theres some great bh players out there i know i havent seen yet. :wgrin:
However i do have a question for mag maniac, do u think anakaris is good at all?
yes. i think anakaris is good, i would be more afraid of him than BH.
i just dont think BH is that good because i dont get killed if im hit, unless i get hit over 10 times.
the anakaris i saw in that vid is godly, i wouldnt want to get hit by that. but, i still say mag would beat anakaris, of course just dont get hit, maybe mag players would have a hard time because a good anakaris might throw them off. still though just rush safely and mag should be fine :).
