By the same token, most Aussies have never seen a gun outside of a police weapon in its holster. I don’t trust our people to use them responsibly, so I would never agree with concealed carry here (all for it in the US). Home defense, with proper licensing and storage requirements absolutely.
Apparently the man had a valid gun licence. This means another living being took it upon themselves to ignore the man’s criminal record during the required background checks and give him lawful access to a firearm.
Thus is not a problem with the law. When followed correctly, the law largely prevents access. This is a case of people playing with fire.
Extradition at the request of another country is not the same as sending someone there without asking. Sending him back to Iran, even though Iran asked us to, would breach non-refoulement.

I hate that in the uk that middle eastern, persian, farsi, arab, and egyptian have been re-classified as “asian” because being labled as any of those has bad connotations apparently.

Technically Egypt is definitely Africa. The rest are indeed in Asia. Although so is Israel, and part of Russia. Middle East is just a convenient term though for Arab speaking countries.
However, there are lots of Muslims from South Asia, and those usually have been grouped with the Middle East when obviously that is incorrect.
Part of the reason is that pretty much all brown people look the same. From South America to South Asia to Indonesia, even to places like Thailand. Arabs some are brown but most are actually white, hence why most Arabs can more around freely even with massive racial profiling—the profiling generally hits the South Asians who many aren’t even Muslims to begin with.
It’s all pretty interesting and funny. In all likelihood, Jesus looked like Bin Laden. If you’ve ever been to Israel or known a lot of actual Jews, they look the same as Arabs. There are Euro Jews that identify as Jewish too, but they aren’t the majority. The majority are brown, and are Semites. Arabs are also Semites. They are pretty much just cousins, in fact that is exactly what they are, as the only difference is one descends from one of Abraham’s sons and the other descends from the other one. Same father and same region and everything. Like Hattfields and McCoys.
The reason why Americans don’t understand this stuff is first Americans are very insular and racist, and secondly Americans do not travel. Americans stay in America where they form ridiculous ideas about the world and then just repeat it to each other. It’s similar to Japan actually. In Japan they have a stereotype of Americans, especially Blacks, that they get from their media, including manga. It’s pretty darn hilarious to us in America because we obviously have exposure and understand the stereotypes. But the rest of the world that has more exposure to some of these other things also finds American perceptions pretty hilarious too.
Now another perception in the US, especially on this site, is Asia is just China and Japan. Asia is actually a huge continent, and as I already mentioned South Asians look like all the other brown people from the Middle East. Now in Europe, when people refer to Asia, they usually mean South Asians, because British colonialism was centered in India/South Asia, and that is where most of the trade took place. So there was some overlap of cultures, now there is a bit more to it than that, but I’m already probably wasting my time even being serious so far with this subject at a more superficial level. So I’m not going to take that leap and be serious for much longer. So to Europeans, it’s a pretty quick and easy thing to just lump South Asians and Arabs together as Asians, if there is a similar religion and because of racial similarities. The perception in the US is it’s strange because we actually had more exposure to East Asians, who we forced to build our railroads before kicking out of cities after the railroads were finished. Ah, racist American history, the official word for East Asians was I believe “coolies” which is actually a lot worse than you may think it looks.
Personally I generally prefer to spend time with Europeans, moreso because I am attracted to European women much more than I am American women. Now racism exists everywhere you go and all that, but generally Europeans travel a lot more and have more exposure to a lot of different cultures so it’s actually more fun and intellectually satisfying for me to associate with them.
Because you Americans are so fucking stupid, especially you damn blacks.

Honestly I think the only people who have a problem with this are dudes who believe asians are only allowed to come from kung fu movies and anime.
Amusingly with Rhio2k, he really hates Arab people because apparently he was really into some Arab chick once, but then some Arab guy swooped in and took her instead. All these years later he can not let it go. Technically, Muslims can’t even date, so I don’t know where he thinks it was going to go anyway. Still, it’s one of my all time favorite SRK stories because it’s been like 10 years and the guy is still stuck on it.
Whenever Muslims/Arabs come up I know Rhio2k is not far behind to make one of his anti-Muslim posts. I really like when he goes way over the top, because to me that’s like the best style of comedy. It’s just really artistic when you do it right.
It’s easier when you pick one theme though and always hammer it like he does, but then you can’t comment on as many things and have to space it out a lot or it gets too stale. An artist of my caliber has more nuances to consider because I don’t use one theme.
This is really sad news but what is additionally sad is atheists posting their “Oh religions fault” garbage as if violence would make a positive decline if the whole world becomes atheistic. History tells that to be false.
People are silly if they think religion is the sole reason why humans treat eachother like shit. Take away religion and they’d just find another reason to kill one another.
