I’ll be opening mine up when i go to pick it up and i’ll post full pics.
Not like it’ll matter too much though.
Well we can pretty much expect soldered buttons and Hori brand stick.
It’s absolutely a Hori stick and buttons. No question about that. Judging by the height I think it’s also pretty obvious the buttons are soldered to the PCB. But, nevertheless, I will try to get pics up later today if possible. Turns out my tri wing bits are all too large so I’ll have to take a trip to Sears to see if I can get smaller ones. Neither Home Depot nor Lowe’s carries them.
insomnotek:
does it have the option to be hooked up via USB? or is AA’s only?
The 360 version is AA only. There’s no wire at all. I’m 99% sure the PS3 version is the same.
Well I’m going to using a ShinJN sixaxis to dual mod this sucker wireless for the PS3.
So what im gathering from this thread it that the stick is a P.O.S…? If so im sooooo glad i popped the extra dough for this…im feelin the whole Madcatz SE experience all over again…
I wouldn’t call it a P.O.S. It’s decent enough and highly convenient. It’s just that it’s overpriced for what it is.
Here are the pics of the internals I promised. Sorry for the low quality. My digital camera is on the fritz so I had to use my cell phone.
Soldered buttons as expected. Ordinary Hori stick.

Believe it or not, that shine you see on the start button? That’s Scotch tape. I don’t know what it’s doing there as it isn’t actually holding anything but it got a laugh out of me regardless.
The stick and battery cover.

The PCB.
The placement of the batteries will make swapping out the stick more challenging.
looks very cramped ^ swaping sticks will be difficult does anybody know what sticks will fit in model
JLF unmounted. That sixaxis controller definitely looks possible to fit in there. However I might take out the PCB that is soldered onto the buttons.
Thank you for the pictures TonyTheTiger.
Now I know how to modify.
Same as any other.
Laugh.
You think there is clearance for Sanwa JLF?
Looks kind of not, without grinding the Shaft.
Oh yuck.
On that note, is the Hori stick common ground? If not, do the non-common grounds match up with sixaxis grounds?
Either way, g/l with doing it. You are definitely a more patient man if you get this working and it’s not a perfect match for the sixaxis.
I was considering getting the PS3 one and putting a 360 pad in it, since I should be able to share the AAs. Just lost interest in carrying around the dongle.
I have no idea how to determine if it’s common ground or not. If somebody can tell me what I’m looking for I’d be happy to check.
boy oh boy that doesnt look like too fun to mod. do you think there is more clearance for a jlf than the fs3, ex2, and wii stick have?
Well I’m going to be using terminal bays to hook up two signals at once from each pcb(360 and PS3) and thinking of mounting a Neutrik Usb Mount to charge the battery on the Sixaxis. I just want to know if it’s common ground. To check this, the pins from the buttons mounted on the pcb should allow you to identify which contact is a signal and which is a ground. A multimeter should work but I don’t have one unfortunately.
As for the JLF mounting, I think it might need dremel work if certain Hori stock sticks are all universal for their joysticks(FS3, Hori EX 2)
I think this is a different Hori Joystick?
Because doesn’t this Wireless Tekken 6 one come with Shaft Cover?
On other Hori Joysticks, like in Fighting Stick EX2 or Fighting Stick 3, Sanwa JLF-CD not fit.
Would have to cut Shaft Cover to make fit for shortness of Hori Shaft.
Let us see.
If there is Shaft Cover, then that could mean this Hori Joystick have same length Shaft as Sanwa JLF?
With that is mean, so to say that can install into the Case a Sanwa JLF, and there would be no clearance issue?
But then I don’t know yet.
Maybe Hori can be using their short Shaft again, and using different size Shaft Cover compared to Sanwa Shaft Cover.
I would like someone to check this out and confirm what is in this Wireless Tekken 6.
still cant open the mother up. went to a couple of stores to see if they had any triwing screwdriers but no go. will settle for internet delivery
it does work on windows though. was on ggpo trying it out.
oh btw, i have the ps3 stick. dunno if the 360 one works on the computer.
I think Modchipman sells them FYI.
