-Alot of people just fill the button holes theyre not using with hole plugs. You can print your artwork with the 8 button layout and just plug the holes your not using. Or you can leave the holes unplugged and buy a 6 button plexi.
-Doesnt matter the trim of the JLF you get, you wont be using the mounting plate. You dont need to change the orientation of the pcb. I recommend an LS32 just because thats my fav stick. But its alot of work to get into the t5 stick. If you like the JLF, then i recommend you use that one
-Any MC Cthulhu tutorial will work just fine, the only difference is the box that contains all the components, which in your case is a T5 case. All the wiring will be exactly the same.
Thanks for the response. I think I can ahead and order the parts now. I’m sure I’ll be back in here again once I start the process. I’m working my way through this thread just trying to get my head around everything.
About the plexi, does that just replace the original top plate? Where can I order?
No it sits on top of the plate. By itself i can not support the weight of the parts and your hands. Look in the STICKIES on the Tech Talk. ARTHONG plexi service or something like that.
Lee’s Auto Parts.
Use Plastikote Vinyl Color works and adheres the best. I still lightly sand the shiny coating off the T5 case though with a fine grit sanding sponge like 200 grit.
Use very light coats at the begining and every 10-15 minutes apply another coat. Despite the ease of use of vinyl dye, it still will leave drip marks and get thick and nasty if you apply too heavy of a coat at once.
Good thing is you do not need to sand this between coats. BUt wear a mask or respirator…this shit stinks and you will probably pass out from the smell.
But the end product looks like it came out of the HORI factory itself.
After I attach qd’s to the buttons and wire them to the terminal switch as well as the joystick, I plan on daisy chaining all the grounds from them and putting it into one slot on the terminal switch. My question is, on the t5 pcb, am I just wiring one wire to each input and wiring one ground to the pcb since its a common ground pcb or do i daisy chain again on the psb for the ground? If I do one wire for each then ground separately, thats no problem, but with all the mods I have seen, I’ve never seen that done. If I daisy chain on the pcb again, then I will have to wire 3 wires (or i can just fold the ground wire) with only 2 holes. That would make sense too and would not be a problem to do either, but again… never seen anyone do it. Which am I doing or if there is another method, what is that method???
AJtheMishima - I am officially done with Sanwa sticks. I am offically a Seimitsu man. I see that you installed a LS-32 in your t5 stick. I want to install a LS-32-01 in mine. It has an S mounting plate as opposed to a flat one. Whats the best way to install this? Do I have to removed the mounting braket like you had to do for the LS-32? I do not have the actual stick yet, so I can’t see for myself.
nice switch. Youll have to do the same things i did on the ls32. The only difference is the S plate. I believe the Splate will work, but only if you mount horizontally instead of vertically. THe reason behind that is the end of the plate will catch on the “turbo switch” area of the case not allowing you to close the case completely if you mount it vertically. Other than that, it’ll be the same. Ill know for sure if the Splate will work since ill be using one for a ls32 in one of my cases later this week.
Yea, in the Mad Catz SE case, you have to install the LS-32-01 horizontally as well. I just wish my stick would get here already. I am starting to think this dude is trying to scam me…
If I’m putting a MC Cthulhu in the T5 stick, does that just replace the stock PCB? I’ve got the stick open and am about to desolder the PCB and am wondering if I need to be particularly careful or not…
His name on srk is mOoO. I sent him the money on Aug 2nd. Didnt hear from him for three days. I hit him up and he’s like “I didn’t know you sent me the money” and he askes for my address. Doesn’t Paypal sent the address with the receipt??? Anyway, I gave it to him. That was August 5th. Haven’t heard from him since. I hit him up yesterday and he hasn’t responded. I checked out his profile and I see that he has been online. He just not answering me. He says he’s from Texas like you. You know this dude? It’s not a lot of money, but still. This is quite annoying.
I will def let u know if I run into a problem with my stick.
So its confirmed, i just used the Splate in my orginal T5 stick thats in the original post about how to mod t5 stick. I was even able to save my Krizalid artwork, so im happy.
Damn man, how much did he sell it for? YOu shouldve jumped on that gamingnow coupon for $5 off. The special ended on the 7th. I ordered my GNC buttons, ls32 spring and some misc stuff on thursday and to my surprise my parts were at my door by saturday. Sooooo fast, especially with the demand for parts right now.
I dont know that guy, but was he in houston? If so i can always look him up for you
Ok. I got the stick. Got it from someone in the Tekken community which is what I should of done to begin with. I will end up doing a chargeback to this other guy. Everytime he contacts me he says he will send it tomorrow… Since August 5th, he has been sending it tomorrow. Says he is from San Antonio.
Anyway, I have a question. I want to move the start and select buttons to the back of the case. I want to use 24mm black buttons, but these are hard to find and I will have to wait at least a month to get them. I can use the stock one until then? Those are 24mm also right? I want to use those temporarily, but I want to make sure then the black buttons get to me, I can use the same holes.
