Help guys, first time desoldering and ended up butchering my board… I lifted a pad on L1 so I soldered a wire from the lifted pad to the L1 leg on the chip. Plugged it in and it appears that L1 is stuck on On. I took of the wire and the button is still stuck, I have no idea why it’s doing it…
PS:
I noticed that the Hori stick have identical restricter plate as the one from Seimitsu LS-56. Can I just buy 4 Sanwa microswitches and a Seimitsu octo gate for a poor man’s Sanwa stick? 
If L1 is constantly activated, then you probably shorted the L1 trace to ground somehow. Make sure that the place where you soldered the wire near the chip doesn’t connect L1 to any other traces. Make sure all of them are totally clean. Also, if one the poles on the button is correctly soldered, then you can scratch off some of the area around the other solder point and run a blob of solder the scratched-off area.
Evil, make sure there is no solder between the signal and ground. If its touching then that will happen.
Did you take both wires out of the L1 ports? Try that and if the button is still activated we got another problem.
Thanks guys I finally got it fixed, the lifted trace was touching the ground somehow…
Also what did you guys think about the LS56 gate on a hori stick? I just ordered the gate from lizardlick and let you guys know when it arrives.

Just a question for everyone using custom plexi for this mod…
I’m a total newb and have never used it before, but do you just put the plexi on top of the original metal? Or are you somehow mounting the stick via the plexi? Thanks!
goes over the metal plate. Plexi cant support the weight or your hands.

So i was just wiring mine up and noticed on the first page of the tutorial this should be Grey, Yellow, White, Red and not Grey, White, Yellow, Red. Unless the wires are not the same colour on all the T5 pcbs. However this is my second one and it was Grey, Yellow, White, Red on that one too… 
Yeah, they guy i quoted that off didnt get the order correct but the colors correspond to the correct direction

This is a dumb question, but how are you guys changing it to a straight 6 button configuration? I’m planning on modding one of these with a ps3 board really soon and would probably like to do that.
LS56 not fit
you missing 2mm on hole in restrictor 
Kowal-are you talking about fitting the ls56 octo gate onto a hori stick. OR are you talking about installing an ls56 onto the mounting plate in the t5 stick?
Hope you guys could help me on picking out the right ones for my t5 stick, I am not exactly sure what size I need, I only need 4 of them and button hex socket cap. I would like to know whats the exact size so I can check out home depot before I buy them online. Also I did keep the original nuts and hot glued them so they are in place already,so metric would be the way to go for me, thanks to whoever can help me.
