^^^Exactly if you want a TE buy a TE, the HRAP stands for REAL ARCADE. Most probably have never been to an arcade, but the start button on a vewlix panel and most every other arcade panel is always on the face.
At the distance the start button is you shouldn’t be wildly lashing on the stick to hit that button easily.
My bad about the button. I didn’t know there were grey OBSF-24s.
Don’t get me wrong, if I’m looking at such minor details to point out, it means I really dig this stick. I still think a tournament lock would be nice to have though for peace of mind.
Just to be sure, these can accommodate an LS-32 using the stock SS mounting plate? I wanted to purchase a VX-SA and make it my go-to all-around stick after I mod it.
Thinking of getting the V3 SA as a secondary stick to my dual modded Qanba RAF3 for my friend and brother as training sticks and second player shmups sticks.
To be honest from the specs, I am sorta disappointed that these HRAP V series sticks are a bit lighter than the previous gen(and the TE sticks as well) and it’s finish isn’t a sexy glossy finish but the form factor looks like WIN(because it’s pretty much is a mini VLX Premium)!
Anyway, thanks to NRX, I expanded on his template for the more “generic” style of layered templates:
Gray Top Template
Border(Negative)
Buttons/Openings HRAP V series template
Might as well post it up, I’m more used to this style when I made SE, RAF3 and HRAP3/EX templates.
As for the material to be printed on, looks like it needs a rather thick material since it looks like the the metal plate and plastic case are two separate pieces.
I’m thinking of purchasing one of these soon, VX-SA. I want to replace the buttons out. I thinking about going fully white with a green shaft cover on my LS-40. Another idea is possible blue/dark hai, but I have never seen that combo to see exactly what it looks like.
Also, heads up to anyone looking to buy one. Newegg.com has them for $119.00 with free shipping. Not sure how long that deal will run but it’s the cheapest I’ve seen it on the internet.
while i agree that it is a good deal. but I would think there is a chance for it to drop to 89.99 with free shipping on amazon one day just like the HRAP3 SA. I am shooting for 100 with free shipping though.
Just got a RAP: VX and now wanting to dual mod the thing, I was wondering if there’s anyone out there that can tell me the exact pin for the guide button, and if it’s possible to use the Turbo switches to act as the switch like the way bomberman does it with his RS switch for the TE?
Does anyone know if each part of the switch for tubro represent an active wire?
I basically plan on dual modding this with a MC - Cthulhu and RJ-45 hack. Ideally, I would like to use the turbo switch to change from 360 to PS3, but if I can’t find the active wires for it, I’ll just use a normal dpdt switch.
Just bought one. I’m in Brazil so god knows when i’ll get mine with brazilian customs.
I had the HRAP3 modded with Full Sanwa and Paewang.
I’ve been reading all threads about these sticks. You guys know how we are. We play and we wanna know, so i’m really studying what i just bought. Especially in Brazil where a stick like this costs over the price of the minimum wage.
I bought the VX-SA and i’m looking ways to get it to work on a PS3 without the minimum modding possible. I hard modded my HRAP3 and, to be honest, i’m tired. I bought an adapter but really, i’m skeptic about adapters. I cant believe there wont be lag. I liked how the guy fitted the paewang without making changes to the original eletronics, i’m interested in that. Also interested in the ChimpSMD.
I’ve just gone through this whole thread. It was hard, but thanks for the info. So far, what i could see is that a late US release has made the love for this stick a little slower in the community as a whole. I hope i did a good job going from the hrap3 to this one.
