And amazon just lowered theirs to kill newegg. $113
fuckin bought. Can’t wait to customize this baby (visually, all the parts are to my exact liking).
so i kinda wanna get one of these but i was wonder hows the palm rest on them? they look a small but i dunno some input would be nice.
Unless you have really large hands you shouldn’t have trouble adjusting. I find it to be more comfortable than the TE.
Looks like Newegg went and dropped their price again, $99.99…plus free shipping.
It’s getting more and more tempting everyday to buy, but I really shouldnt unless I get rid of some of my older sticks.
I wonder why the V3 SA is rapidly dropping in price just as the HRAP EX SE has? Isn’t the V3 SA still relatively a new item to be dropping so low now?
Thank god I still kinda got a good profit from mine that I sold last week or so.
Held out just long enough to see the price come down. Purchased and awaiting arrival!
Does anyone happen to have a template with the stock artwork of the VX/V3-SA?
Yup, that’s my review & picture (w/an SFAC stick) I uploaded LOL!
Agreed 100%! I’ve got pretty large hands yet I still find it a bit more comfy than my TE stick.
Nice, I was waiting/hoping for a price like this to come along around X-mas time. FWIW, last year (around this time) Amazon had the HRAP3 SA on sale for $90 shipped (then it went back up its regular $120 - $130 price). I’m gonna buy this bad boy (again) right after I finish this post, hehe! Thanks for the price update!
I feel you!..Although I didn’t make a profit on mine, I was happy (phew!) to break even (~$170’ish) when I sold my import version back in Sept/Oct. I got lucky b/c the following week Hori USA announced the MSRP of $130. I love this stick & only sold it originally since I knew it was gonna be available for much cheaper once it officially arrived here in the states.
Look at the economy in general… not so good!
Also, I think we suffered a huge glut of joysticks last year and that’s why ALL the TE’s and HRAP 3 SA’s were generally much cheaper around this time, too.
The V3 SA isn’t going to sell well without a price cut. We STILL have a huge stick glut situation this year, too. Hasn’t everybody by now seen the crazy sales Mad Catz has had at its GameShark.com Store? They need to clear inventory of the existing product before they can announce a new design. They’re definitely glutted with R2 and R1 TE sticks. They also had to reduce pricing on BOTH the BlazBlu and Chun Li sticks because they couldn’t get rid of those limited editions at regular pricing! They manufactured too many of them. They probably should have made just 350-500 of LE’s a piece instead of producing over 1,000 copies and pricing them $25-$50 over the R2’s and regular TE-S’s.
As soon as the V3 SA and its 360 counterpart get much rarer, the same freakin’ scalpers on e-Bay and Amazon.com will jack the price up just like they have on the 3-SA already. You know that are probably still at least a few hundred R1 TE’s in circulation around Frye’s and other vendors with an online presence that don’t sell at regular prices. Who WOULD buy them at $150 if you know they drop prices on sticks like this 30% off or more occasionally? The only people without a clue are both the scalpers who have dozens of these sticks to sell and people who will BUY from scalpers because they don’t know better!
Enjoy the low price now. I’m planning on getting a new, unopened V3 SA as cheap as possible now. No more importing special edition sticks for me for a while! It’s just not worth it if you have a feeling the sticks will come stateside.
I knew last year that this would be the case for the V3 SA!
Everyone thinks they’re know how to run a business haha…
The bolded area could not be any more wrong…
To tell everyone the honest truth. We don’t have that many FightSticks left. We stopped producing these a long time ago.
Us selling sticks DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON (OMG people have sales during the holidays?) is not so we can clear our existing product in order to announce new ones. We’re trying to drive traffic to our site because… well. We make more than just arcade sticks.
I for one, also like doing this because I want to give a better deal for the fighting game community and people looking into getting into fighting games.
We did not reduce pricing on the BlazBlue sticks. Those were a OEM deal with Aksys/Arc where we made them FOR them. They decided on the pricing. They priced them out at $199 and decided when/where to make price cuts. Mad Catz had nothing to do with the sales of the BB sticks.
We never dropped the price on the Chun-Li sticks and AGAIN, I iterate: I like to support the fighting game community by giving them deals.
I think most of us know. The FGC is frugal and prefer not to pay full price on things. Knowingly aware of this, I try to support my community as much as possible.
We made 2000 each of the Chun-Li stick because well. We literally don’t have anything left for Super SFIV. It’s our last new design for quite some time. That’s why we made a bit more than we usually do for limited runs. We’re sold out of standard sticks, fightpads, and all but a handful of certain colors of the SSFIV sticks.
You might as well kiss goodbye the Round 2 sticks for Xbox 360 too.
So yea. Before we try to spout business sense, let’s get a better understanding.
I’m all for logical discussion… But one think you really need to consider… The deals I do (especially during tournaments), are meant for the community. We’re not trying to blow things out.
Also, my educated guess on Hori V3SA and the stick prices being so low.
I think newegg just sold it at that price to get traffic on their site. They aren’t making money on the sale but want to get people shopping there.
Told
^ I love my Team NAH shirt.
MarkMan,
I take no offense at your statement of the facts in the Mad Catz warehouse/GameShark store.
However, I still get the impression that quite a few vendors haven’t sold out of their inventory. Of course, they won’t if they keep them priced at $150 + tax.
These MC sticks are not impossible to find if people look. The limited edition HRAP’s of last year and the HRAP 2 SA’s (until December 18th) – that’s a different story.
P.S. – Can Hori and Mad Catz at least VARY the button colors a bit on the mass-production joysticks? All-white/mostly white gets boring after the fifty-million joystick.
At least the HRAP 3 SE went with a dominant red color instead of white like the Mad Catz TE’s and the HRAP 3 SA.
Uhhh pretty much only the Round1/2 had all white. Chun li stick was mostly blue, MVC stick was yellow, and the SSF4 stick was dark hai. Mad Catz can’t do anything about the rainbow colored 360 sticks and the BB stick used white buttons for the theme, I also doubt Mad Catz had any say in that either.
Can any one tell me, if the hrapv3 pcb is the same of the hrap3? i am asking this because i use a converter pro lag free for my hrap3.
And if the pcb were equals…i wold certainly buy a hrapv3…it looks much cooler than the madcatz one…and i wouldn’t need to dual mod…
thank you…in advance
is there an art template anywhere for this stick?
If I didn’t already have a TE rd2 stick, I would’ve gotten it from your sale (very hard to beat $100 shipped). When do you anticipate having another one for the Chun-Li stick? Thx!
Well, it worked for me since I also bought a Wii game (No More Heroes 2) at the sametime, LOL!
