Does anybody know a place to get plexi for these yet?
No plexis are available yet for the V3/VX…
Art Hong is swamped with orders for the plexi joystick cases so I imagine it will be a while before he gets around to this.
Besides, not as many people have V3’s/VX’s as it is stands. Probably be at least a few months before plexis become available.
The V3-style isn’t as easy to prepare art for as the HRAP was. NRX just recently submitted an updated template for custom art as it is…
I’m figuring this might be another stick I’ll have to retrofit with cap socket screws unless it’s set up to be worked with from the bottom like the HSS-130 and the Mad Catz SE joysticks.
Muther puss bucket…:annoy::annoy::annoy::annoy:
sucks to hear that from amazon… i just sent an email to arcade shock asking what’s up

That sucks about the delay. Worth the wait I love this stick
i got my reply from arcadeshock
Hello,
It will ship first thing next week. Sorry for the delay. There is a possibility that it will ship end of this week if our supply arrives earlier.
Arcade Shock
… so next week from arcade shock hopefully
just got my tracking # from UPS. scheduled delivery is 10/20/10. Not bad of a wait since i know for sure the stick is getting shipped. Oh on a side note, i ran into a small problem when i first put the order from hori.com. it turned out that i had to send a separate email with proof of residence because my billing and shipping information was different. just giving a heads up to anyone who orders from hori themselves and they like to send it somewhere else. In my case, i just sent in a scan of my ID that’s all.
Thinking of getting one of these. Anyone know how easy/difficult they are to dual mod?
EDIT: nvm i found the info
shouldnt be to hard.
If you read a few posts back, jdm states that the 360 pcb is common ground.
Which that is half the battle of dual modding.
Got mine today

So currently what would be the best way to slap some art on this thing? Sticker type like for the madcatz SE ?
GameOnGrafix.com is your best bet, it’s a fantastic replacement for the stock art sticker. There’s a .psd template in my sig.
Yea I thought so, I already have the design just needed to know where to print it out.
Thanks !
EDIT - Now Im a little confused as to how to order it  Help anyone?
Probably your best option at this point in time unless somebody comes out with a plexi.
(Don’t expect a plexi before next year if ever with the the V3 series.)
I imagine the original art is set up like the Hori Fight Sticks and that there are screws under the sticker art. (Probably read that somewhere else. People have already modded V3/VX sticks to put on new art but they all used stickers so far.)
To get at those screws, you have a better than 90% chance of damaging the original art no matter what you do. It’s just not meant to be removed once it’s slapped on the faceplate like the licensed HRAP sticks’ and earlier Fight Sticks’ artwork.
IF it’s possible, we might be able to (in the future) put on a plexi over new art the way you can now with the Mad Catz TE and the Hori Astrocade-style HRAP’s. It would mean you’d have to reposition the existing screws over the plexi or replace the original screws with cap socket screws if you can find cap sockets that fit. Again, before that the original art’s going to get damaged or destroyed.
I don’t think Hori wants people to mod the case as it is. It sure doesn’t have the convenience of opening from the top like the SA/SE sticks or swinging open like the VLX. You can open the case from the bottom for sure but many people prefer top openings for sticks.
I think the camera quality and the angle you took the picture at isn’t doing your stick justice.
Small rant: I thought this stick was supposed to be their answer to the TE stick. They really should have either placed the start button on the back/side. Also they don’t have a tournament switch to lock the start and home buttons that are both on the top panel. I could have forgiven all that if they didn’t cheap out and provided a Sanwa OSBF-24, especially when it’s right on the front. I was actually pleasantly surprised when Madcatz had Sanwa’s for both Start and Select/Back even though they weren’t on the top panel. Common Hori… if you want to answer to Madcatz, don’t overlook the small details!
The Start button on VX/V3-SAs is an OBSF-24.
- like nrx said the start button is a sanwa, I ditched that shit for a seimitsu
- your whole rant about it being the “answer” to madcatz, sounds more like you want them to straight “copy” or replicate a te and badge it hori.
If you really want the features you mentioned, then buy a damn te.
Me, ill stick with hori.
