It sounds significantly less hollow than the standard HRAPs, and slightly more hollow than the MadCatz TE. This type of metal-panel-mounted stick will probably never sound as solid as something like a top-mounted wood custom, since there is so much less control panel material to absorb the sound.

For me it’s not really noticeable, though I usually do notice the hollowness of the standard HRAP when I first start tapping on it.
JDM I totally forgot to answer your request.
It seems its about ~64mm from bottom of the button (beginning of switch) to where the quick disconnect cover ends.
Well, for someone like me who’s a purist in terms of the Japanese style arcade feel, the metal plate sounds closer to what I grew up with in local arcades here (endless rows of Astro, Blast and Versus City cabinets with the occasional Megalo 50/Super Megalo 2).
awesome d3v! thats really good to know because i too prefer authenticity. i wonder if the metal panel in the v3/vx sa is removable. looking at some of the shots of the insides, there are no screws attaching the panel to the case.
This stick does NOT WORK WITH PS2 GAMES. i bought this stick to replace my HRAP 3 which i play sf 3 with because i hated the buttons, but to my surprise it doesnt work just like sf madcatz sticks.

ok, so the guy has replaced the stock JLF to a LS-32-01 with SS plate.
According to what he said, there’s no problem doing that…
but I’m just not sure about the height…
Has any done this yet?
