Hori Real Arcade Pro FAQ for all versions

You’ll need a converter but otherwise you should be able to. Although you need to take into account the input lag when you play ps2 games on an hdtv.

Personally I wouldn’t buy that stick since you would probably have to do a bit of necessary modding. R2 and L2 as the leftmost 2 buttons isn’t really practical. Description says “Select” and “Start” button dont work with Playstation 3. Although this might be a good thing since I also don’t like how close the start button is to the 8 buttons.

I have a Hrap3 and I’m trying to add a plexi glass cover on top. This plexiglass cover will only hav 6 button holes and so I will not be able to use L1 and L2 for things such as filtering rankings in SF4, etc. As Hrap3 owners should know there is a button for L3 and R3 next to the HOME button. Is it easy to just switch the wires for the L1 and L2 with the wires for the L3 and R3 buttons? Is it as simple as switching the wires for the 6 regular buttons?

im pretty sure you can do that, but there will be soldering involved since the L/R 3 buttons dont have qds on them

A friend of mine is selling me his HRAP3 for $70, it isn’t modded. I clicked some of the links on the first page but most were out of date, very confusing navigation and I really just don’t know what parts exactly to order. I just want a really good set of sanwa parts to replace everything on it.

The Joystick is already Sanwa.

You just need to buy any Japanese 30mm and 24mm Buttons.
Sanwa or Seimitsu, you choice.

The eight on front are 30mm.
Sanwa OBSF-30, OBSN-30.
Seimitsu PS-14-G, PS-14-GN, PS-14-GN(???), PS-14-KN, PS-14-K, PS-14-P, PS-15.

The two for Start and Select are 24mm.
Sanwa OBSF-24, OBSN-24.
Seimitsu PS-14-D, PS-14-DN, PS-14-DN(???).

For purely Sanwa parts you have your choice of Snap-in buttons (OBSFs) or Screw buttons (OBSNS), if you want to replace each and every button, you’ll want 8x30mms and 2x24mms. There’s also the stick you can swap out, but HRAP3 already comes with a Sanwa stick, the JLF-TP-8YT-SK.

If you’re going to get new buttons though, you may want to grab a ball top (or bat top) that will go with the colors of your buttons. Check to make sure whatever ball top or bat top you want will fit the JLF, but I’m certain that most if not all commonly available tops are compatible.

Oh the HRAP3 already come with Sanwa parts? So any recommendations on what to leave alone and what to replace exactly? I don’t want to mess with anything that doesn’t need fixing.

Also @ JDM where can I find those specific parts? I check Akihabara but nothing comes up when I click on the categories I want. Do I have to register or something?

Sorry for the very noob questions but I am very new to sticks, this being my first.

Akihabarashop is only open for 2-3 days at a time and then they close for restocking/getting out existing orders.

Aki will be open again for new orders on July 30th.

But yes, you do need to register with the website top place orders.

When the shop is closed, you can’t view their list of in-stock items… After they do open again, you can view their stock without registering but must be registered to place orders!

I recommend registering with them now since there will be items that sell out quick and you may not want to get left out because you’re busy registering to buy things the day the store re-opens.

Like most places now, it’s around a 2-3 week wait before you get your orders. It takes roughly a week for them to process orders and then, depending on the speed of the shipping you choose, around a week for the order to arrive on your doorstep. Check their onsite Service FAQs and yen-dollar conversion offsite to figure out your costs before you submit an order.

Try buying from lizardlick. You should replace the buttons with Sanwa. You most likely won’t have to replace the start/select buttons. Check to see if they work first but really it’s not like you have to get sanwa buttons for your start/select since you’ll hardly ever press them compared to the other buttons.

RicePanda, the Sanwa JLF in HRAP 3 is actually JLF-TP-8Y-SK, not JLF-TP-8YT-SK.
With the different Mounting Bracket in the HRAP 3, the JLF in it does not use Mounting Plate.

HRAP with Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y-SK:
PlayStation 2
HRAP vB
HRAP Amazon Edition
HRAP SA

PlayStation 3
HRAP 3
HRAP 3 Amazon Edition

PlayStation 2 with Game License
HRAP Soul Caliber III
HRAP Arcana Heart
HRAP Sugoi! Arcana Heart 2
HRAP Fate/unlimited codes

PlayStation 3 with Game License
HRAP Street Fighter IV
HRAP BlazBlue

But in the HRAP 3 SA though, it does have Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK.

HRAP with Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK:
PlayStation 2
HRAP

HRAP 2
HRAP 2 SA

PlayStation 3
HRAP 3 SA

PlayStation 2 with Game License
HRAP Capcom Fighting Jam
HRAP Tekken 5

There are HRAP with non-PCB JLF too.

HRAP with Sanwa JLF-TM-8T-SK:
Xbox 360
HRAP EX
HRAP EX SA

Xbox 360 with Game License
HRAP Death Smiles
HRAP Konamistyle Otomedius Gorgeous

Didn’t really get answered, so I’ll ask again.

Did anyone ever reply to lldre in terms of where the voltage points are on that hrap diagram?

And not that his pcb diagram is that bad or anything, but I’ve searched forever and haven’t been able to stumble upon any soldering diagrams for the HRAP1 pcb.

if its like the Tekken 5 pcb its the yellow wire

So, quick question.

I recently got my HRAP3, and I want to change the buttons and stick. I am considering the Sanwa OBSF-30 as buttons. But I am slightly uncertain about what stick I should get, since I hear that some of the Seimitsu sticks does not go well with the HRAP3. Is it the Seimitsu LS 32-01 that is prefered for the HRAP3?

…but the stick in the HRAP3 is a really good one

Mensol- LS-32-01 and LS-56-01 can go in the HRAP 3, besides the obvious JLF that comes stock. Im curious, why do you want a Seimitsu stick? Or actually, what about the JLF do you not like? If its just the stiffness you should try a different spring which will be cheaper before you go spending the extra cash.
OBSFs will work fine .

Putting a Seimitsu LS-32(-01) into HRAP 3 will not work with out modifying.
Like making a new Mounting Bracket, or removing Mounting Bracket and screw into Control Panel.

Or do like this person:
http://erwin1.blog64.fc2.com/blog-entry-14.html

If you want a Seimitsu Joystick to be place into HRAP 3 with no modify, then you can.
LS-33, LS-55(-01) and LS-56(-01) will work if you use Seimitsu VF Mounting Plate.

Seimitsu MS Mounting Plate is default on LS-33, LS-55(-01).
Default Mounting Plate on LS-56(-01) is Seimitsu VF.

I am grateful for your answers.

Well, I just thought the Seimitsu stick is a lot better (In some way, like softer or easier to use) than the one that comes stock with the HRAP3, since I see so many people changing it.
Guess I will just be getting the buttons then, and the stock Hori buttons I don’t like at all.

This is my first stick so please excuse my lack of knowledge in this field.

So is the first post ever going to be updated?

I was wondering what stick is in the new Semitsu Real Arcade Pro’s.

PlayStation 2
HRAP SE comes with Seimitsu LS-32-01 Blue.

PlayStation 3
HRAP 3 SE comes with Seimitsu LS-32-01 Red.

Xbox 360
HRAP EX SE comes with Seimitsu LS-32 Black.

quick question- Does the HRAP3 have a plastic lining on the top panel when it comes out of the box? Plastic is starting to pull up around the edges of the panel. I just wanted to ask before I go pulling it up.
