Does anybody know what size carriage bolts the HRAP 2 uses? I’d like to replace them with stainless steel ones to get the shine back. Mine are already dull and faded looking.
Does the HRAP3 Amazon.co.JP exclusive use quick disconnects like the regular HRAP3?
In terms of button replacement, snap in OBSF-30 Sanwa and OBSF-24 Sanwa?
What type (model, make?) balltop should I look for if I want to replace the Sanwa balltop on the HRAP3?
I have HRAP 2 sticks and they use quick disconnects. I dont’ see why the Amazon one wouldn’t. The balltop will work as long as it fits a JLF.

I have seen some people put Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm buttons in the HRAP2/3 sticks.
From the pictures I have seen, the PS-14-KN buttons are threaded - I assume they are screw in?
Does the HRAP3 accept screw in buttons as well?
i just modded my HRAP3 with PS-14-KN 30mm buttons and a seimitsu bubble balltop last week… it was my first mod… i had absolutely no idea what to do a month ago but i looked through all the threads here and learned a great deal… it was actually quite fun and EASY! thanks so much to everybody here !! :]
to answer your question… yes the PS-14-KN’s are screw in… and yes they will fit with no sanding/additional modding needed… the buttons are SO MUCH BETTER than the stock hori’s… even tho the hori’s arent bad themselves 
if its just the buttons and the balltop, it is a very easy mod… just refer to tingboy’s HRAP2 mod and u’ll be set…

just to tell you guys, that the sugoi arcade heart 2 real arcade pro from hori DOES NOT use quick disconects. DONT BUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY IT.

I haven’t seen one lately that doesn’t go for at least $299 (US)! That seems to be the online going price unless someone’s been lucky and found a stash that isn’t being price-gouged now.
I’d break down and buy the the regular HRAP 3 or HRAP 3 White (IF you want to pay extra for the white casing) and mod that instead to save some cash.
A reflective faceplate and buttons that I can change on my own in 5 minutes tops isn’t a reason to spend $100+ extra on the HRAP 3 SA stick IMHO.
hm im little confused…i looked on ebay for hrap 2 sa.finally found one on good price BUT in the info says “Version : FOR JAPAN ONLY This controller will work only on Japanese & Asian Version of Playstation 2 console.”…i dont have japanese playstation 2 or 3 i only have ps2/3 from europe…is it really true cuz i want this joystick
edit:i think its compatible with ps3 via adapter but i use ps2 fighting games alot so i need to know
I just got a HRAP3, but I don’t like the button layout. Does anybody know if the US T5 faceplate will fit a HRAP3 well? I plan on covering the turbo area so that isn’t a concern to me.
Yes, I think the faceplate will fit without a problem provided you cover the turbo/home button area.
I stuck with the white buttons colur scheme for both my Amazon.jp HRAP3 joysticks.

I sort of regret not getting Black or Dark Hai Sanwa buttons for my second stick, but I don’t mind it too much.
I might check out the buy/sell/trade forum to see if anyone wants to trade their dark Sanwa buttons for white ones…
does the jap amazon white hori stick work on usa ps3 and pc?
Yes, it will work on US PS3 and the PC. It’s essentially the same as the black HRAP3.
The only difference is the colour of the base and the buttons/balltop.

NICE! Do you notice any difference in performance between the semitsu and sanwa buttons?
I replaced all of the hori buttons with Sanwa, 6 white and 2 dark blue). They didn’t fit in as nice as I thought they might tho. The Hori buttons must be closer to 29mm in circumference. Apperently you can just grind down the holes with a dremel tool, but I’m far too lazy for that business and you wouldn’t know unless you were SUPER anal.
