I do this with my Tekken 5 stick (same layout) when I’m trying to mash out of a dizzy MvC2 style =P. To fix this, I’ll be adding a lock switch for my start button
sorry if this has been answered already but can i but a ls-32 in a hrap1 mirror top version without modding it in anyway
Mirror top = Ver.A
Ver.A has the right mounting bracket, so yes, it can just slip right in like an HRAP2.
oh okay thanks dude
I also just got my hands on the Hori SF4 Arcade stick and just found out the buttons are soldered on.
What is it going to take to switch the hori buttons to sanwas???
this is my first arcade stick so i would like to know what i need to do in order to switch the buttons???
I haven’t seen the insides, but worst case scenario, it’ll be similar to a Hori Tekken 5 stick mod. If that’s the case, you’ll need a dremel, soldering iron, desoldering braid, 7mm nut screwdriver, and a phillips(cross) screwdriver.
Hi I’m new to arcade stick modding, in other words inexperienced. I’m waiting for my ordered HRAP3 online. In the meantime, what do you guys recommend for translucent buttons so i can put LEDs when you actually press the buttons. I hope the buttons you recommend is available in lizard lick amusements, 'cause i find their service more convenient and useful.
thanks in advance!
I’m considering getting the HRAP and moving the stick further to the left. Are there any issues that I need to know (such as the pcb being in the way or a giant block of metal stopping me for no reason) before I start doing this?
Check my sig
You’ll have a gaping hole from the pre-existing hole for the joystick and you’ll need to remove then weld the mounting bracket back on. Other than that, nothing else will really be in your way.
Thanks TingBoy!
Could you describe the weight of this material?
I was going to fill the inside of an HRAP EX with self-adhesive auto wheel weights, but that wouldn’t even add 1 pound.
Also, can the eDead be cut into different shapes? Thanks, man.
is it normal for the stick on the HRAP3 to make like a knocking sound and clip against the base when you hit down all the way? It’s not the clicking sound from the JLF. I think my shits broken too be honest. I lifted the dust washer and when I hit down the whole mounting just rises up and moves.
EDIT: I think it was the shaft covering. As I was messing with it, it came off and the noise wasnt there. Don’t know if it was loose or not (it is now), but It was annoying the hell outta me.
What’s the difference in the HRAP3 (white) at play-asia
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl-49-en-70-2sxw.html
It is 30 bucks more than the HRAP3 with orange buttons. It doesn’t look like the special edition with sanwa buttons.
What would it take to mount a Sanwa Flash clone (say from a dreamcast Ascii FT stick) in a HRAP1 version A. Any special mounting plates or mods? Thanks in advance
arcadeshock has some hrap3s that are pro-modded for quite a bit more than the regular hrap3, does anyone know the specs on it? the details merely say pro-modded with sanwa parts but doesn’t the stock hrap3 come with a sanwa jlf?
Square Gate
I just got the HRAP3 today and I’m having a hard time with the Square gate with quarter circle characters. The stick is awesome with charge characters, but I’m having a hard time pulling off hadouken, shoryukens, and especially the shinku hadouken. Anybody have any suggestions on any exercises I can do to help me with the squarte gate. I been reading up on this and alot of people seem to love the squarte gate, while other hate it.
I just found the HRAP EX and the HRAP 3 this evening at High Tek Game Traders (a local gaming store). I had never even thought to look there before! I guess I’ll be two hundred bucks (canadian) poorer tomorrow (or 400 if I get both :P)
Modding buttons helps so much
Wow, I finally got around to getting a 7mm nut driver and put the Sanwa buttons I got from Lizardlick into my 360 HRAP 3. It’s INCREDIBLE how much of a difference the buttons make.
The biggest problem I had with the HRAP was QCF moves. To the point of being sadly frustrated with the stick and wondering if I’d made a bad purchase. I assumed it was the gate, but by then had already ordered just the buttons and not an octogate. So I figured until Lizardlick can take orders I’d just pop the buttons in.
WOW. I don’t think I need the octogate now. I can instantly and flawlessly pull off QCFs with the square gate. Something about the stock buttons is off. The difference is incredible.
So my advice is if you got an HRAP3, get better buttons. I can’t believe and am sort of in shock how much it changes the thing up.
Are the buttons in the Amazon HRAP 2 orange or vermillion? I want to order Sanwa’s to replace the Hori’s but also want to make sure I keep the color the same.
Edit: I just got my Vermillion Sanwa buttons today and they are much darker than the Hori parts. I haven’t seen orange Sanwa buttons, but I assume I actually needed to get some Orange Sanwas. Oh well, with the Sanwa craze right now, once I get new orange ones I should be able to sell the Vermillions in the trading outpost pretty quickly.
