Hey mate, i’m from singapore. Just thought you might appreciate this bit of info. You can get your friend to try finding the HRAP from these two shops, they’re one of the more recognised and popular gaming shops around. I got my HRAP from one of them a long time ago, and i remember the other one stocking the HRAP3.

Good luck!
Hi all,
Just found this forum yesterday and registered to post. Lots of great info around here and after reading for almost 2 days I’m about ready to pull the trigger, just want to confirm I got everything correct
I’m looking at the white HRAP3 that was released to Amazon Japan. I’m gonna try to pick it up from StridaJin in the For Sale forum if he still has any for sale.
For the buttons I will get six OBSF-30, two OBSF-24, and two OBSM-30 plugs. I’ll only be playing Street Fighter so six buttons is all I need.
Then I’ll change the joystick ball to a LB-35-M “MeshBall”
I’m thinking about getting the buttons, plug, and ball from http://akihabarashop.jp/
Does this sound pretty OK? Anywhere I can get the parts for cheaper or is it pretty much the same everywhere? I’m in Singapore at the moment if that changes anything…
I basically want a decent setup that will last me a long time. Not into all the hardcore modding, I just want something as simple as possible. With this setup I won’t need anything more than a screwdriver to change everything right?
Thanks a bunch in advance, looking forward to joining everyone!
Quick question. Don’t modded T5 sticks go for $100. I’ve got a T5 modded with mint condition seimitsu buttons and sanwa JLF which I offered to sell to someone for 75 bucks but they acted seemed to act like it was expensive. Needless to say I did not sell it to em.
Do you guys know when Play-Asia is going to have pre-orders?
I was thinking of buying a custom stick, but now that this is coming out, I’m going to get this instead.
if you’re thinking of getting it from play-asia you might acutally save money by building a custom. i was gonna get another HRAP and when i saw the cost of the stick plus the cost of the shipping it wasn’t even worth it.
I was thinking of buying a custom from Arcade-in-a-Box, but they don’t offer 3xpunch and 3xkick buttons. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to build a stick for myself. My final decision is still up in the air, but I’m leaning towards the HRAP3 SA.
That’s about right. $100 + shipping is the usual cost of a modded T5 in good condition. If he wants something cheaper than $75, tell him good luck. Maybe a semi-modded FS3 is better suited for him.
thanks for the info
Im not sure if this has been posted, however I will post anyway to clarify on this.
The HRAP 2 SA stick works perfectly on the xbox 360 via the XFPS 3.0 Sniper Plus adapter (the beige one). If you are not sure how it works, you need to connect a wired 360 pad to activate the stick, one activated you can navigate the dash etc etc as if it was a pad. You can also attatch a ps2 keyboard and ps2 mouse, and has another slot for an extra usb interface. However I havnt really used these features extensivly as I use it for my stick. Oh and what a great stick it is, pure joy to use.
If anyone was wondering, I got my HRAP 2 SA via ebay a while ago. Its worth the pennies imo.
Edit - Tested with SF HD Remix
the HRAP 2 SA works fine with my pc using the Super Joy Box 3 Pro. Please note the drivers didnt work for me under vista, which i currently have installed on my laptop. No problem for me as all my arcade stuff is on my Xp pc. Works a treat under Xp.
Both adapters can be purchased through playasia I believe.
Im sure this has been posted all around this board, however I thought I would clarify this as It works before my own eyes.
Hope this has been helpful to somebody,
Cheers, Dan.
Have you done any lag testing or frame specific testing with the HRAP2SA using the XFPS?
What type of tests did you put it through? Have you tried Guitar Hero III’s calibration testing?
im from australia and i was wondering where is the best place or site to pick one of these joysticks is ?
Ive only just recieved my xfps today (I should have made that a little clearer, my bad there) It came in the mail this morn however I wasnt aware that it arrived untill this evening. Ive been using it for the past couple of hours on live with HD remix. It seems fine so far, I havnt noticed any lag as such with the button inputs. Ill keep an eye on it and let you know over the coming weeks how it really pans out for me. Im not really sure how I would go about thoroughly testing frame specifics with HD remix, I would happily do so tommorow if i get a chance. Is there a good way to go about testing this?
I do have gh3, however I havnt tried it with the game yet. Its just occured to me that the stick may be a great way of playing gh3.
Markman for someone who is on the fence on whether to buy the HRAP 3 SA or the SF 4 tournament stick, which one would you reccomend, not taking in account price. Any benefits or drawbacks for either of the sticks?
Not taking into account price…
SF4 stick all the way.
Completely unbiased here. But out the box, the SF4 TE Stick has more to offer.
They may use exact components (sticks/buttons), and I wish I could say more about the SF4 ones, but if you wait a little while, the details will surface and people will see why the SF4 one is the one to have.
HRAP3 SA sounds like a great stick (I’m getting one), and I’m sure it will be. But with the HRAP3SA, I already have an HRAP3 with all Sanwa parts in it, so it’s not like it is any different from the one I already own (of course the casing/parts/interior are all the same).
Thanks MarkMan!..looks like I will be keepng my pre order for the SF4 TE Stick.
Play-Asia has preorders up for both of the SFIV Hori sticks (only being released in Japan).

I’m new to working with arcade sticks so this may be a stupid question… but am I correct in assuming that installing a GT-Y octagonal restrictor would be a relatively straightforward process in a RAP EX? From what I understand they come with a square gate out of the box, and I think I’d prefer to change that (along with the buttons) when I get the stick.
yup should be quite easy as long as you have the right tools to open up the stick.
HRAP3 won’t fit a happ competition right?
