Yes but jokes aside, it wouldn’t be in this thread regardless because this thread is only for the HRAP line. The Hori Fighting Sticks and other sticks of theirs are not included in this thread.
I have a question.
I have the soul calibur 2 japenese stick Blue ball/blue art/blue buttons, the one shaped
lik the T5 hori.
I was wondering what sanwa buttons would be easiest to use to replace the old ones.
is there an alternate t5 mod guide with pics? the link on the front page works, but pics are dead. i just wanted to ask again
Same here. I had a couple of questions about the T5 stick as I picked one up to mod, but I’ve don’t have a lot of joystick knowledge. I’ve read the OP a few times but the amount of stick variations is making me feel uneasy with buying new stick/buttons for it.
I guess the short version is: Can I treat it as though it’s a HRAP if I’m replacing the stick/buttons, or is the faceplate/stick mounting bracket/button holes somehow different?
No. You’ll need to get rid of some metal tabs that prevent Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons from fitting on the metal plate, you’ll need to drill new holes for the joystick (I think), and you’ll need to do a bit of soldering. A lot more work than an HRAP.
The short answer: no
If you do a forum search, you will find some pictures - although I don’t think there is a step-by-step, visual tutorial. I posted a blog that has some pics - but its not comprehensive.
Thanks, found your blog. I think it gave me enough info.
The cord for my HRAP2 is cut. With a lot of tape and twisting, I can get it to work. But this is a crappy solution. Is it possible to replace the cord with one from a DualShock2, or a T5 stick? They both got that white bracket plug thingy on the pcb. Before I go play Frankenstein, I’d like to know if this would work.
You have pretty much 2 options that I can think of at the moment.
- Replace the whole PCB and cord with a new PCB (yes, T5 works, not sure about DS2, but I know DS1s work)
Or, if the cord is anything like a Guitar Hero controller, you can
- Cut off the section of cord with the cut, splice the wires (strip and twist matching ends together), then insulate with electrical tape.
Hey everyone, I’m about to go out and buy the T5 Arcade stick at GC for $30. The arcade stick itself is not bad, right? And if I wanted to get better buttons and whatnot, how much am I going to spend? Thanks a lot!:wgrin:
i’m pretty sure you can just unplug the cord wire from a t5 stick and simply plug it in into an hrap pcb. fairly simple process too, btw
Oh and that. Just depends if he can find a spare t5 cord or if he wants to spend the extra money on another stick.
It really depends on what your tastes are. You might as well try it out of the box before buying new stuff. I couldn’t stand the Hori stick - it felt way too loose for my tastes, but I like Happ competitions for reference. I’ve heard people who like Sanwas say the stick was a little loose for their tastes as well though…
If you want to replace the buttons, figure $2-$2.50 a button to be safe.
Yeah, I love the arcade stick so far! But I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you very much!
Im about to go buy the VF5 stick or the EX2 stick for the 360. Is it possible to have a sony ps2 PCB put in it? Also, is the stick itself well built and good(I’m not a modder or any of that shit)? I’m just going to use it for playing 3S/HSF at home.
what differences are we looking at hrap3 and hrap3 sa, besides the buttons since i can mod them myself on the hrap3 ?
White plastic casing.
I’m confused, are you wanting to buy a 360 stick to make it work for PS2, or have the option of having it work for both? If you just want a PS2 stick, then there are much, much better options than the VF5.
And trying to mod a stick to include both a xbox360 pcb and any other PCB is DAMN hard if you aren’t an electronics guru already.
il take that as no differences then?
