Look at step 7.

All of the HRAP’s (at least that I’ve seen) use the same chip for controlling. If you have a PSX->Xbox adapter that works with one HRAP, it should work the same with the others.

So i’m pretty sure this is a common problem,

the cord on my hrap2 frayed, it came undone towards the base the the coper insulation is now showing. Thankfully the inner wires are fine but I don’t want to risk it, I was wondering how people went about fixing this? I was thinking of trying to get some of that rubber fix stuff that sets like rubber but I don’t even know if that would work. So any suggestions would be nice. It sucks this happened to my hrap 2 cause it never happened on my hrap 1 and I’ve had that for a long time now. Bah! Anyway thanks again for any help you can provide.

Edit: I think I’m gonna try and buy some heat shrink tubing and see if that fixs it up.

can the HRAP 3 work on a ps2?

do i need an adapter?

what about a HRAP 2 on a ps3?

thanks peeps

HRAP3s will not work on a PS2, but it will work on PS2 games played on a PS3. There is no such adapter that will help you out here.

As for the HRAP2, yes, it will work on a PS3 with the help of an adapter. Just goto your local gaming store and look for a Pelican PS2 to PS3 converter. They work flawlessly without any noticeable lag.

I thought only the VSHG is compatible with ps2 games played on ps3 and that the hrap3 isn’t.

nah. hrap3 can play ps2 games on a ps3. the hori fighting stick 3 or whatever is the one that cant play ps2 games on a ps3, due to the fact that it lacks the ‘PS’ button, which you to press to turn on the controller/stick.

I thought they fixed this problem with an update. Well, I can’t quite find anything to support my answer so far, so disregard what I said for now.

Edit: nvm, found a thread. 1.80 fixed it, though not flawless.

thanks erikstanton & TingBoy

In case anyone cares, the heat shrink tubing seems to be working just find. And it makes that area around the grommet stiffer so it probably won’t fray again. If anyone else is having this problem I suggest you try this route before your stick is completely unusable.

what was told earlier on this thread was right, i tested the hrap3 on ps3 with tekken3 and cvs2 and they worked flawless :wgrin:

tell me if im correct about this, cause this is what happens to me.
When you play a playstation 1 game it already recognizes the controller, and you dont have to press the PS button.

when you play a playstation 2 games, thats when the controllers get restarted and you do have to press the button.

ok so a tekken high grade will work for ps2 games if i get the newest update?

if you mean virtua high grade, then it should. ive been reading around and i see that hrap got fixed, but vsgh got messed up, but this may not be true.

I haven’t noticed this with ps2 games, an explanation would be that my european ps3 has a BC that is programmed by software and not by a hardware chip as in the US and Japan.

Is there a good adapter to go from PS2 -> X360 that will work with the HRAP?

there is a thread made for adapters already.

your answer lies in the first page, first post.

I updated the first post with details on the new Arcana Heart HRAP, but for some reason it uses the SC3 HRAP’s button placement, I guess they want to Arcana players to play from the get go without having to reorder the buttons. w/e

For people who are curious, AH’s button layout is:

ABC
D

So, its RAP’s layout of:

[] /\ O
X

Makes sense, but it’s still lame and gimmicky.

Hey! This HORI stick isnt in this thread:

Joking!
