I’ve got a Hori Fighting Stick EX for the xbox and the ‘X’ button is kinda not responding very well. I’ve tested it with XBCD and the other buttons work fine. XBCD shows that the ‘X’ button gives only a very faint responce when I press it. How should I open the stick to replace the button? I tried unscrewing the three screws at the base of the stick, but the base still refuses to open. It feels as if its stuck or something at the corner.
Nah, you’re right, there isn’t much reason to change them. I only replaced them because yellow didn’t match my colour scheme, and I hated the way the buttons sank below the top of the bezel when pressed. Yep, I really am that picky.
i’m kinda a perfectionist. i like my stick to have all real parts. yes its the aesthetics. i chose yellow cause it looks nice. i think matching action buttons with the start/select is plain/dull.
thanks for the site. for $110 shipped, i was willing to purchase it. I saw it on other sites for about $130-$150, and i didn’t want to pay that much. i’m waiting for it to arrive in about a week, even better if sooner! now my next mission is to call all the ebgames around my area to see if they have that pelican converter, hopefully they do, cuz i don’t feel like paying for s+h for that adapter :x
I’d like to second Xorcist’s question. I’m currently using a Radioshack adapter with my HRAP2 and there’s most definitely input lag when playing fighting games on my laptop.
I’m not sure if it’s the adapter or the HRAP2 or both that is causing the lag problem. Does anyone have any insight into this issue?
If the problem is the HRAP2, would the HRAP3 be the proper solution?
If it’s the adapter, which adapter would you recommend?
Alright, I’ll give that one a shot. It’s this one, right?
I’ve also heard that the driver could have some effect on performance. Should I not be using the Windows XP HID Compliant Game Controller drivers? Is there something else out there that is used for PC fighting games?
Just to add a little to the mix, I’m pretty sure any adapter is going give you some amount lag. For this exact reason I picked up a few USB specific sticks, the Saulabi Online, the Saulabi 4k, and the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3. Each of these sticks is WAY more responsive than their PS2 counter parts on just about every adapter I tested (and I tested quite a few).
Since this is a Hori thread, let me stick to the specifics of the HRAP3. It comes up as a native joystick device under Windows (no drivers needed), all the buttons (except for the turbo button) are available, and the stick itself can be switched between analog (PS3 left stick), digital pov (PS3 D-Pad), and z-axis rotation (PS3 right stick). Overall Hori did a great job with this one. Works flawlessly now that I swapped out that square gate for an octagonal one.
i dont think i should make an entirely new thread since there’s already many of them about hraps and how to mod them…
so my questions is…how do i put an artwork on hrap 1 (cfj edition)…i opened it and the original art seems to be glued on the metal plate…is there a way to remove it without destroying the old art? or i must use another metal plate?
Ok so my HRAP 2 should be coming in on tuesday of next week! I’m excited about it, but I have a few questions. I’m a total noob/scrub to joysticks. I have always been using gamepads and keyboard (for MAME). I’m gonna try to play on a stick from now on. So my question is, for a person like me should I replace the Hori buttons with Sanwa buttons or not? Will it make any difference to someone who’s just starting out to play on a stick or no?
Anyone installed a Sanwa Flash on an HRAP2…i dont have a multimeter and would like to know to which pin i should solder the Sanwa Flash +3v wire to…any help would be much appreciated
I just got my HRAP2, but its damn hard to get the fireball/super arts down in 3s. is there any tips or advice any of you guys can give me to doing them better? or will i just get better at it as i keep on playing/practicing on the stick?
