If I had a VLX, it would never collect dust. I would take it everywhere, even to places that have nothing to do with fighting games. Like grocery shopping and to parties. Buy it drinks at the bar. People on campus would be like “What are you doing with that?” “Divekicks.” Picnics and BBQs, man: I’d plug that shit into the macaroni salad. I’d drive out into the country, put it in my lap, and let it steer while I work the pedals and shift.
I was supposed to get one of these but my friends stopped me because I already have a dual modded VLX so I saved an extra $100 and ordered a Fighting Edge. Through the middleman service I use(Yokattaweb), it would have cost me 30,700 JPY + 3,000 JPY shipping + 7% of the total cost of item and other fees. Not entirely bad for something more limited than a VLX but I would take a FE and a Travel bag instead.
I was planning on using Tenso here soon but how reliable & legit is this Yokattaweb service? Is it like Tenso where I have to provide Tenso’s shipping address & pay for it (on Amazon Japan’s site) then Tenso ships it to me or will Yokattaweb take care of all that stuff as long as I provide a web link to the VLX? I know Tenso does this too but they charge extra for this service (taking care of everything).
FWIW, not sure how much Yokattaweb will charge but using Tenso will cost ~$600 (for everything) give or take $50 when I last checked few weeks ago. BTW, there’s an eBay auction going on now for a supposed mint VLX. Good luck either way!
Thanks man, I had been eyeballing that VLX on ebay for awhile but for now I think i’m gonna lay low…Just recently picked up a few sticks, so if I can get some of these sold, I may jump on it!
That’s cool! I’m trying to consolidate down to a handful (2 MK & a couple Vewlix sticks) since I rarely play nowadays. Only things left to sell are a HRAP V3-SA (UMvC3 edition) & possibly a TvC stick (bonestock).
I used to use Yokattaweb heavily for Yahoo Auctions Japan stuff, they’re straight up a much simpler middle man service to use IMO, what they charge are:
-700 JPY service fee
-Local shipping cost
-Internation shipping cost
-addition 10% cost of item’s price won at(ONLY FOR AUCTIONS)
I’m assuming that Amazon.co.jp offers free shipping within the country so the majority of expenses you’ll be paying for is the international shipping. I’ve looked at other middleman services and didn’t bother with them because of their charts, weight and complicated system.
