I think I may be able to get a Diamond for $600 shipped. I already have 2 kitty modded Xbox360 VLX’s that are decked out with RG buttons and Spark CE’s. So, I am not sure it will be worth owning the Diamond. I think that if your looking for a VLX and you don’t already have one and PS3 is your system then this is the stick for you. Also, I have a feeling that a month from now Hori will reveal that the Diamond will be available in the U.S. as an Xbox360 exclusive for $300 shipped. It’s a beautiful stick but I have a feeling it will sit in the closet collecting dust… What do you guys think? Is this one for the collectors only?
Don’t hold your breath on that one it’s Amazon.jp exclusive Hori has be doing exclusives fightsticks with amazon.jp for a long time and they never get released anywhere else. If they ever do release another vlx in the states it won’t be the diamond
True dat. Are you getting one RosserRooster?
no too rich for my blood I feel bad enough purchasing 2 madcatz sticks within the last month I like them both a lot I just feel guilty my room is already a joystick rehabilitation center (going to say grave yard but there all in good shape just in pieces)
^Same here, I expected the Fighting Edge but just bought a Soul Edition FightStick out of impulse…expensive month of sticks for me(Fighting Edge, Soul Edition TE-S and a metal case stick).
Is Hori only doing one run of these? When the initial run sells out will that be it or will there be more runs later? In other words, do you have to buy this now if you want one?
Woo! I have mine waiting for me at my office. Can’t wait til I get back home.
That’s nice that its stainless. I know some complained about chipping on the black metal section of the red/black vlx
with this one if you have any issues with scratching you can wipe it down with some brasso polish and it will look like new again
I hope its clear powder coated or something.
I got mine on Saturday, It does have stainless steel surrounding the control panel. It doesn’t seem to have a clear powder coated finish or have any clear over the stainless steel. The stick is very beautiful in person IMO. I think it was a very good idea to use stainless steel instead of the black painted finish because as RosserRooster pointed out the original VLX had problems with that finish chipping or fading with wear, with stainlees steel you don’t have to worry about that. I think it is a awesome stick and worth the money. I think I ended up paying like $650.00 though Tenso when it was all said and done.
One thing I can say about stainless is its great looking but you have to be extra careful about dings because they show like crazy. I would recommend if you going to be moving vlx at all you should apply painters tape over the stainless section just to make sure there’s no chance to get any type of dings because its going to be impossible to get out and there a lot easier to get then you might think.
That’s a good idea, Thanks
If you guys check out akihabarashop.jp , they said they have a few to sell i think
Looking forward to getting back to the US on Wednesday. I can’t wait to see my Diamonds! If someone else gets em’ post up pics too! I got my cameras ready.
I have a friend going to japan next month. How can she get one of these for me?
He would have to get it shipped to where ever he’s going to in Japan Amazon does not have a brick and mortar store you have to purchase everything online.
Okay but do they ship to any ol’ address or does it have to match the billing address? Also what about customs and the airplane?
I believe he’ll need to use a credit card that matches the address/info he has on account (at least within Japan). Regarding customs, just claim it as a gift.
I’m a noob ordering from Japan, and tried my amazon account on amazon Japan to do so but it would not recognize it. How to do this anyone?
Arg… anyone have an idea on shipping for this beauty to the states?
