I second this statement about the buttons, I like them better than my Sanwas I have been using for years; amazing buttons and I like the textured feel. Great job Hori!!
Do you guys think these buttons with sound dampeners would be quieter than the GamerFinger buttons? Someone at my locals had them and they seem to be much quieter especially on release of the button.
Absolutely! I threw some silencer pads in mine just for giggles and they are probably the quietest buttons I have heard (Gamerfinger, OBSFS, OBSC+pads and PS-14-KN + pads).
Got my hands on the new Hayabusa buttons and I can chime in on what they are like.
The shape of the buttons and press depth is almost identical to Sanwa OSBF.
But the plunger and housing fit together alot more snug so there is almost no wiggling of the plinger when pressing.
The microswitch presses alot like an RG switch instead of a normal OSBF switch. I havent tried any Seimitsu buttons but if they require more force to press then these Hayabusa are like that.
As for the Matte Finish, its really high quality and doesnt look like it will come off easily. Its comparable to the texture on hard plastic electronics… kinda like the matte finish on the PS 4 console… more like exactly like it when feeling them both side by side.
I absolutely love these buttons because they take everything I dislike about Sanwa OSBF and made it better. The distance to actuate the button is the same but the force needed is a bit higher. Also they don’t wiggle and feel really high quality.
Hope that helps, I’m gonna try to outfit my other stick with these now as well. I’m hooked!
I have the HRAP 4 Kai with the new hayabusa buttons. Perfect stick and buttons for me, coming from two t.e. Round one and two Madcatz sticks with Sanwa parts. The whole stick seems more responsive compared to my t.e. Round one on sf5. Can’t say enough good about the new hayabusa buttons!
So after a couple of weeks of extended use, here are my observations:
[] They’re just a bit taller than the standard Sanwa buttons used in most quality sticks
[] They’re EXTREMELY sensitive
[] They’re loud and hollow-sounding, which could convey a cheap feel to some
[] The matte texture looks interesting, but it does take a bit to get used to

They don’t quite have the solid feel of the Sanwas, but they’re smooth nonetheless.
Overall, I like them but I think I’ll be sticking with Sanwa.
They are close in height but the Hayabusa button is lower profile.
I agree with the sound, they seem louder with the click-clack sound because of how the button and plunger are designed, I personally like the sharper louder sound.
Hori’s micro switch fits inside the Sanwa OSBF and vice versa. I don’t have the proper tools to test the actual actuation distance and force needed to activate/push so I cant give an accurate comparison BUT the Hori switches feel exactly like a brand new Sanwa switch when pressing them side by side without them being inside the buttons themselves. Thing with Sanwa buttons is that they wear out after a while of using them constantly so they lose their ‘springy-ness’ after time.
I actually felt like they were harder to push than a normal Sanwa at first and compared them to Sanwa OSBF-RG’s but I didn’t realise that the Sanwa’s I’ve been using on my main stick are like 7 years old and are most likely super broken in after all the years I’ve been playing on them.
I compared them again to my Sanwa buttons on my Virtua Stick High Grade which is brand new and the buttons feel really similar in rigidness and force needed to push down.
I applied the “rippster test” using nickles as weights to arcade buttons.
The regular US Nickle coin is approx 5 grams. If you Ask the US mint they claim its 5.000 grams.
So we got a common item with a known weight, carefully stick coins on top of your button till the plunger can’t hold them up any more.
So basically these are slightly lower profile Sanwa OSBF with a higher quality button plunger & housing design with a Textured finish (instead of a smooth glossy finish).
I say “higher quality design” because the buttons feel more solid as the plunger and house fit together perfectly without any wiggle.
The matte finish isn’t like something you would see on a Razer mouse where it will start to wear off after some heavy use. The matte finish is comparable to the texture of the keys on old IBM keyboards or the actual matte texture of the Playstation 4 console.
