Overall weight?
Have you opened it up yet to check to see if the pcb is common ground and if it touch panel will work for a duel mod
Letās not fight over this, but yeah: is it dual-mod friendly?
Wow, jdm, that thing is beautiful. Just post more pics, please
Iām gonna have to guess that it is common ground, based on the 5 pin harness on the stick.
I could be wrong though, stranger things have happened.
Could just mean itās common line.
Even if it is CG, any idea how to hack a touch screen signal?
Thank you for your response.
I do hope you can feedback to your marketing/higher ups that you definitely do have a market outside of USA & Japan, there a lot of fighting game fans in other regions as well, especially in Asia itself.
jdm,
Will this stick take a Seimitsu stick of any type?
James, why you so sexy? Waitā¦ overall impression?
This, right here, pretty much makes it a no buy, for me.
If you arenāt even selling the buttons as parts, then the potentiality for the touch panel being sold as a part, is rather nil, isnāt it?
Which is a shame.
I would have bought two, otherwise.
But as it stands, Iāll stick with my original HRAP3s.
Cursing is my religion. And Jesus fucking Christ, religion has continuity issues.
Also: I am floating, with my eyes closed, with no sails. I am soaking, I am weathered, by the winter of mixed drinks.
Iām in a similar position. In that the parts not being offered separately more or less kills my interest for the simple reason of what happens when something wears out? I realize that thatās thinking a bit far down the road for a product that isnāt even out yet but for a purchase this expensive itās IMO worth giving consideration to. I hope that Hori reconsiders their stance on this otherwise Iām definitely passing on this.
I agree. Hori really should offer their proprietary parts along side the release of the Fighting Edge.
Donāt know if this is out of line to ask or if you can speak to itā¦ but why not Sanwa parts? Does Hori (or you personally) feel that the Hori parts in this stick are better/more reliable/more durable/more precise/etc.?
Man, canāt wait to finish shopping for Motherās Day. Then, I can finally target this stickā¦ The more I look at it, the more my hands itch.
I think its great that Hori has decided not to just go with the common denominator and instead innovate and create new alternative products that people can enjoy and experiment with. Its obvious that Hori isnāt just creating an entry level stick and button, since they already that in the market.
Thereās nothing wrong with a company wanting their parts to remain exlusive to their sticks. Instead of saying āI wont buy this cuz of ____ā, we should be telling Hori āI hope you will be offering further customization options to your prducts in the futureā¦ā
Oh, I definitely plan on trying to find the room and funds for yet another stick, given how awesome this seems to be. Just a little sad that the 360 version will be stuck with those colors, thanks to MS.
Seems my ranting was justified given how many people seem to be concerned with the issue of replacing parts lol.
I comprehend them not wanting to have their tech out there just all willy nilly for anyone to use (just like when I tune a car in Forza I donāt want everyone to have access to my tune), but that simply means out of necessity that I ought to be able to send this stick in and AFFORDABLY have it modified/repaired to my specifications (within reason, of course); warranty or not, and furthermore the warranty on AT LEAST the panel ought to be a year minimum. But even that doesnāt seem like itās going to be offered. Thatās a huge issue.
What say the Kuro ends up my favorite button ever? I donāt know anyone who legitimately likes the fugly mandatory button coloring of the X360 sticks. Yet Hori wonāt sell me the part(s) to replace themā¦ what do? Same goes for the stick. Might be the greatest thing since electricityā¦ and then break in 4 months and all of sudden Iāve got to settle for an off-branded replacement. And Iāve already beaten the touch panel issue to death I think.
Anywho, good to see that I wasnāt just batshit insane on the matter. Hopefully Hori will seriously consider these concerns. Iād love to buy one of these as my 2nd stick so I donāt have to bother keeping a dual-mod around, but mehā¦ the replacement parts problem is a mountain of an issue right now.
Prodding about on the touch panel issue againā¦ wonder if thereās any chance they were clever enough to give it IR functionality? It would be pretty damn handy in the case of a touch panel becoming unresponsive to have a backup pocket or keychain-sized remote to still control the panelās functions. I doubt it of courseā¦ but Iām reaching pretty hard trying to figure out a way to make this stick worth buying and not having to worry so much about said issues.
Maybe a suggestion for the FE2 though eh?
Donāt worry I almost garentee that people will be changing the buttons out to some pretty clear buttons or whatever and you can pick-up 4 extra black buttons to match your set
Its way to early to rant about hori offering replacements, let them get this stick out there and see what people think first. If you look at it from Horiās perspective they donāt know how this stick is going to sell and if people are even going to like there parts. Hori has been doing this for along time and have been very successful at giving us a true at home arcade experience. It would be way premature to start offering replacements for something that has not even been released. They would have to figure out how they want to distribute them, what retailers they want to use and so on. Iām sure if the demand is high enough and everyone want to get their parts they will find a way to get them out there but that would come in time. The way the company is set up is not ready for distributions of parts, a lot more work goes into something like this than one might think. So lets not make a problem speculation. Iām sure anyone else in Horiās position would use the same exact business model in which they choose with the fighting edge it only logical.
Simply put, it is cheaper for a company to develop their own parts rather than buy them from another company.
Still surprised by that inability to change the gate on this new Hori joystick. But if this is what the top gamers from Japan & US wanted (when questioned by Hori), then cool.
Please note that these pictures are not of the actual Hayabusa stick lever, but a prototype we had sent out to players during the development stages of the Hayabusa last year. Stay tuned for reviews which should be coming out soon!!
ahhh-ahhh-ahhh :wonder: Iām telling D3v and you going to get a big infraction for image quotingā¦jk I think the moderators will let it slide
thanks for keeping us in the loop with updates and everything
