HORI Fighting EDGE

FA has them in stock now gogogogogo

Finally! Once again my community has my back. In your debt, my king.

Hey @Gummoā€Œ sorry to bother you, I don’t really want to rush you since you’re doing this on your own time. But is the new dual-mod method that much better then what you came up with and is it possible to just get the quick run down on what that new method is in the text form or something? I’d like to get this dual-mod finished.

It’s mostly the same. Just the way the power for the led is wired different. No need to cut the wire or add a resistor since it will be wired up to a resistor that’s already on the board.

So basically you’re just wiring up 5v to the resistor that’s in-line with the LED 5v pin?

Are you wiring it to the resistor before the transistor or after the transistor? Maybe I’ll just wait for the pin out.

Bumpy :frowning: i would like the new diagram if possible

I finally found a place in Canada that stocks these, although I may have gotten the last one.
It’s great, but I’d like to put a bat-top on it.
I’m assuming I just need to take out the six screws on the face plate to get at the underside of the stick and use a flat-head screwdriver to hold the shaft, but I’ve never worked on a hayabusa stick before.

It’s easier to go in through the bottom, the warranty sticker is easily removed without damaging it and you can stick it on some wax paper to put it back later if you don’t want to lose warranty.

Cool. Thanks for the tip. Can I use the same shaft cover/dust washer kit that I use for sanwa sticks?

Yeah

Awesome. Thanks.

Just put some clear blue sanwas in mine. Unfortunately I don’t like the feel of the clears as much as the regular osbfs

Has anyone added a hardware start button to one of these? The touch button sucks for mashing in between rounds

Anyone have a labelled PCB diagram for the fighting edge?

As mentioned previously, I wanted to add a hardware start button. This is the trace I used, along with the common ground. It is post inversion, etc, so you don’t need a resistor or any inversion circuitry.

Gummo can probably tell me if this is going to fry your PCB, but I believe it should be fine.

I wired it to an OBSF24 right in between the two compartments on the back. I need a button to mash in between rounds, and the touch start button just isn’t the same.

Hi there guys!

I have a problem with my stick and I don’t know how to fix it.
My Fighting Edge worked perfectly fine for 1-2 months. But then it just stopped working.
Everytime I plug it in, my pc won’t recognize it. The only thing it does is lighting up the blue lights at both sides and the touchspad LEDs.
The xbox button does nothing at all.

I tried installing the xbox controller drivers for pc, but it doesn’t help.

The weird thing is my TE works perfectly fine.

Can somebody help me??

Remember that the Fighting Edge was not designed for the PC, it will work but can act up.
There are a couple of fixes that have to do with the Xbox Drivers.

I am trying to remember but it has something to do with reloading the drivers in Device manager on your pc.
Im trying to find the article now… and will post more when I find it.

Thanks,

I’ve had to repair the problem in three FEs in the past month, and all three had the same problem: the USB cable had a short.

Hori sticks have historically had pretty low-quality cables, so that was the first thing I tried. I had hoped that their ā€œpremiumā€ stick would have a more durable cable, but that’s not the case.

Get someone handy with a soldering iron to replace the USB cable (or add a neutrik adapter), and I expect the disconnect issues should resolve.

Adding a USB passthough/ port like a Neutrik or Switchcraft pass though would be your best option.
If the cord breaks again, it be easy to swap out and replace.

Thanks for helping!

Thank you for the tip!
