yeah the switches are interchangeable but i would keep the kuro shell because it has less boarder and more button than the sanwa. thats the main reason i liked them. repair the kuro imo
Sethian0, thats a great idea. It would bother me knowing that one of my buttons was different. Seems ridiculous that Hori would ask someone to ship a big box back to them instead of shipping them a $2 button. I could understand if the person didnāt know what they were doing, but as a standard policy thatās insane.
I can tell you now, its either lawyers or business majors that make the policy not electronic engineers.
There is also a more practical reason. Controlling all the variables. They do they repairs they know it is done right. They Provide a $2 button, they donāt know the customer even knows what to do.
Not everyone is a tech talk modder, we got individuals [that visit here] who canāt conceptualize how basic electrical theory works so forget them having the minor skill it takes to install a push button.
How do I get this damn thing to work!? Brand new, straight out of the box, but it doesnāt freaking work with Steam? Iāve installed the driver from Windows but ???
EDIT: Alright, Iāve tried Chronicles of Mystara, doesnāt work. Iāve tried a MAME emulator, and apparently it registers when I try to map the buttons. Iām gonna try Skullgirls to see if it works.
We apologize for the inconvenience. In regards to the The Fighting EDGE, the product was designed to be used on the PS3 or Xbox 360 console and was not intended to be used on the PC. Although the product may be recognized by the PC, we do not have any drivers available to make this product operational on the PC. Additionally, we do not support any third party drivers that may enable this.
If you have the 360 version of the fighting edge the PC should recognize it if you have the 360 controller driver available from Microsofts drive download page. I use mine with my pc just fine. I donāt have a PS3 version of the stick so I canāt say anything in that regard.
Thatās correctā¦ To add to Darksakulās comments, even though licensed XBox360 controllers SHOULD register as an XBox360 Controller for Windows on a PC (driver issues aside), I donāt think anyone in the industry guarantees that their stick will work on anything other than the intended device - in this case, the PS3 or XBox360, depending on the version you have.
Square gates are standard for all joystick models.
Also some people will not play you if you have a octagonal gate.
Square is what most recommended for beginners and it is what the vast majority of pros use.
I also do not see Hori going out of the way to make a new plastic mold just so that a minority can have there octagonal gates. Making a mold for plastics cost more than the rest of the sticks development put together times two. Its why you see a dozen PCB redesigns for the Xbox 360 and PS3 before you ever see a case redesign. Its also a big deal when company does a newer slimmer console design, as a investment was made in just that plastic mold.
LoL. I donāt think anyone has ever asked me āWhat kind of gate do you have?ā, let alone refuse to play me because of ANY specification of my arcade stick.
it was a short bit of local BS, I was almost thrown out of a very small time tourney for having a octo gate.
And it was because a few people raised a stink over it, saying I would ātroll everyoneā.
