It gives you an incorrect impression, then. Sanwa is pretty standard for good japanese sticks. That or seimitsu. But this discussion doesn’t really belong here in a thread about a different stick, with different parts.
has anyone found the right resistor to use for the 5v line?
Does anyone know if there is a place where I could buy acrylic glass that is custom made for fighting edge (xbox360)?
The acrylic glass on my stick cracked the other day when I was carrying it outside…
if anyone has any black kuro buttons or a hayabusa lever in working order i would like to buy it from them. let me know plz (clean and working preffered)
thanks!
(just pm me)
I need help. I got an xbox fighting edge we are replacing the board with a ps360+. Everything is done but the start back. Any hints on xbox how to wire it. I have read gummo hints about xbox being inverted, but its not sinking in
Wait… You’re doing a PCB replacement and the touch pad is still working as advertised? This could be good info.
Anyone have issues hitting down+forward on the Hayabusa? I seem to always get forward, down+forward all of a sudden (did not happen before).
Is there any update on how to wire the 360 Version? (start+select)
oh i forgot to say what resistors i used when i dual modded my FE
I think it was a 40 ohm but i have to go double check

How has this not been posted???
I’m waiting to get my hands on a PS3 version(unless Hori is planning this for next gen which I doubt)!
White variant??? Wow…
(Technically, I think the original black looks better but we’ll see where they go with this!)
When did this get announced?
I just hope the plastic resists yellowing. It’s annoying when peripherals start to yellow… I’ve had it happen to Dreamcast controllers and a PS3 dual shock pad. The PS3 DS pad was definitely nowhere near 24/7 solar immersion. They just used a cheap plastic to make that particular batch. The other Pearl white pad I have is okay so far and is only a few months younger.
It was posted on Arcadeshock FB like 2-3 weeks ago
Prototype = 50/50 chance of happening…
The HRAP V3 was previewed in a white version before the official release. The stick was released in black and red versions but never white for the PS3. The 360 did get a white case release.
Most infamous prototype (IMHO) that was the previewed but never released for the PS3 was the Mad Catz White Asian TE. That became an unannounced XBox 360 exclusive and we never did get an explanation of whether MS paid for that to be the case in Asia or not.
I ended up taking my first Rd 1 TE apart and spray-painting the middle section white… I wasn’t going to pay extra for the Asian TE (which I would I need to buy an add-on PCB for to get PS3 compatibility) or scavenge my LE Femme Fatale for its white case, either…
I guess Hori hopes a white variant will revive interest in the Fighting Edge or something like that…
These last minute redesigns they’re doing with practically the whole current production line seem like a grasp at what they know are going to be the final sales of premium controllers this generation.
The PS3 and 360 sure don’t seem to have the love in Asia that the PS2 did… It’s still amazing to a point that Hori did a new run of the HRAP 2 SA late as they did in the production life of the PS2. I somehow doubt we’ll see the same with the PS3 (and a potential reprint of the HRAP 3 SA or SA-variant) unless the PS4 is slow to deliver on fighting games. Right now, the PS3 and XBox 360 are almost overcrowded with fighting games. It took too long to get more than 1-2 a year and now it seems like 6 a year is really too much.
I have to wonder what the overall reaction to Hori’s new parts and the Fighting Edge itself was… The issue of the parts not being used in other Hori designs raises its own questions. The buttons seem to have been accepted “fine” as-is but I wonder what the general feeling on the Hayabusa was.
A year later, and it seems like the reaction to the stick was “meh” or indifferent shrugs.
You’d think they might have tried to use the newer parts in a limited run of the FightStick V3/VX or a special edition HRAP but it hasn’t happened yet.
FYI,
I stay away from FB like the plague for the most part. IF I didn’t like documentaries and using YouTube to avoid cable – which is 100 times worse despite the lack of the snarky feedback YT has --, I would stay away from YT as well.
I also try NOT to look too often at Arcade Shock’s website because those guys have been getting way too much of the really good exclusives lately! LOL
Hori posted the white variant of the FE and a chrome/Silver HRAP V3-SA variant during the week of E3 so I’m assuming that they brought some of their toys along to their E3 booth/meeting room.
No one has issues with the diagonals on the hayabusa? It’s hard for me to hit DF cleanly. If I try to do DF, DF I get DF, F, DF.
Doesn’t happen with DB, DB and I still get the issue if I flip the stick and try to do UB, UB.
Interesting revelation about the White Fighting Edge joystick prototype –
it was using Sanwa parts, not Hori parts.*
It also doesn’t look like there is a dustcover on the prototype. The shaft hole looks exposed to me.
My guess is they were just mocking it up quickly… I would think they would be using the proprietary Hori parts for the actual release IF they do it.

I’m having a strange issue with the 360 version of the stick. LT is activating as RT. Whatever action I set RT to, LT does. I have no idea how this happened or how to fix it. Anybody experiencing something similar?
need white panels/shaft/cover on that new Hori FE.
Although this stick looks phenomenal, I dont really see a point spending 200+$ on a single console stick. With that said, I will be getting on when I save up again just to have it in my collection
Qanba and Mad Catz both sell white shaft covers for JLF’s.
Qanba’s are generally easier to find and are cheaper – $2.95 for the kit, just like Sanwa’s which now includes the transparent shaft colors. (Oddly though, Sanwa only makes dustcovers in black.) Mad Catz charges $5 for their shaft/dustcover kits.
The Qanba shaft cover kits seem to match the Sanwa plastic colors fine… Mad Catz may actually have more color options and more accurate color matching.
