HORI Fighting EDGE

I’ve a similar opinion. I don’t need my hand held on a $200 joystick. I am not a MS hater but they do numerous things that annoy me.

Wow. It should be noted that while the MS color/mapping flummery is disappointing, this is a really nice stick. Definitely don’t regret it. I like the distance between the buttons and the touch panel. It doesn’t look as wide apart in the picture as it is. The texture of the paper between the metal panel and the acrylic is a really nice touch, too!

Misinformed.

i cant get the LEDs to blink when i play marvel…i couldnt find a “vibration” option on the game…works for SSF4 though

I’m going to order a ps3 version. I don’t want rainbow buttons.

you might have a seizure from so much blinking

Thanks! That worked. I kinda like having the LEDs on… looks cool in a dark room. But I’m sure the novelty will wear off.

Overall, great stick. Still hate the touch panel tho. May make some sort of adhesive circle to go around START, so I can find it by touch and not have to visually locate it.

anyone attempting to dual mod it? i would hate for mine to be the experimental one :frowning:

Just wait!

The stick’s barely been out in Japan for over a month and just got released this past week in the States.

It might take a month or two minimum for a mod tutorial to pop up but it’ll happen…

Whether we’ll see an adapted Kitty PCB kit for this is open to question now.
(Caution: I wouldn’t count on it but would gladly be wrong on this point, too.)

I could be wrong but I’m thinking the PCB in this beast will NOT be the same as the PCB’s in the HRAP V3/VX or
Soul Calibur V Noir joysticks. It’s those LED’s and remapping options that have me thinking the “easy mod” kits
are NOT going to work with this particular joystick.

Im not against the idea, but I haven’t had a chance to get a good hands on looksee. To be honest, a Kitty model is unlikely unless adapting all the interconnects is really easy, and if the recent Hori models are any indication, it wont be easy.

But ‘the next big thing’ would definitely be an option. Im sorry if this sounds ambiguous, but chances are I’ll have an interface helper made for the modders to use, but a clean solderless solution isn’t something you should hold breath for.

I already Dual Mod, last week.
And pictures and PCB pinout.

But I’m not tutorial or guide.
I’ve no computer right now.

Hey Jdm how did you wire the start and select, were you able to have panel light up in ps3 mode. let me know thanks!

Make the Touch Panel LED light up on PlayStation 3.
Do by connecting Anode and Cathode to 4066 chip on Imp or Imp v2 or ChImp SMD

Do you have any pics MY multitester isnt at my office. Please please pretty please and what pin on the 4066 im using a chimp smd. Thanks for the help!!

Pin 5 and 6 are connected, the PS3_SELECT line. It’s high in Chimp mode, low in Xbox360 mode.
Pins 13 and 14 are the XBOX_SELECT line. It’s high in Xbox360 mode, and low in Chimp mode.
How they should be used for the FE, I cant help with it, but that’s how those two lines work.

when can we buy this on amazon?

Oops, I did not mean to type Cathode to 4066.
Although it still makes sense, because go Ground.

Do you remember what color the wires were on the connector on the hori pcb ir anode green and cath orange. Sorry for the questions but I cant test. If you have pics even better. Thanks!

How do you guys feel about the touch panel? Like it? Hate it? Would you prefer real buttons?

I probably would prefer buttons on the back or whatever, but I’ve had no problems with these so far. And it’s not hard to train muscle memory to not have to look all the time.
