I always get mirror matched when I’m up a few matches. It’s usually one of those players that knows a little from each character. I think they get frustrated and end up picking Honda thinking that all I do to win is fierce headbutt the whole match.
Another video from the tournament I was at last week. This one I lost so it will be more insightful for me to watch it.

I have never played a Rog who rushed down like he did, I’ve read the strats on how to deal with it but I didn’t have the experience to put it to play unfortunately. Watching it again, I see a lot of opportunities where cr.jab xx HHS would’ve have stopped the pressure and put me at advantage.
I didn’t realize Rog beat Honda air to air so much with his j.fp. Was it bad timing on my part or is that the case usually?
In the beginning of the match, you seemed to be throwing out too many fp headbutts which will get punished by rog’s dash punch, but I’m sure you know that already. You should never really throw it out unless its during a combo, or you see him dash punching towards you or something.
Try using focus once in a while, so he’ll think twice before throwing out those dash punches so freely. You also got caught by his jump ins a lot while you were doing something, where you could have AA’d it with EX headbutt or jab headbutted instead
You’re also jumping in too much which led to getting hit by his j.fk. Instead, you could n.j fp when you predict he’ll jump and you’ll stuff him every time.
Marn didn’t punish any hp.HB’s when he had meter too. It also seemed that his Sagat was begging to eat s.hk’s by just standing in the corner but Honda didn’t use them. The end was just clutch time brain freeze because Ultra or c.mk xx hp.HHS, s.hk wins the match for Honda. Same thing is happening to me cause I keep getting out clutched for that last 25% of life.
