I always thought Hondas FA goes low enough to avoid throws from hooligan/bushin/demon/izuna? Not the early point but after going past lv2 somewhat. That’s what I thought anyway, I’ve never been thrown from the low posture by those moves.
Anyone knows why on the iplaywinner tier list they have honda-dictator as 6-4? If anything, I think that match is 4.5-5.5 now, maybe I’ve been playing too many turtle/runaway dictators but I can’t see how that’s in honda’s favor now… someone enlighten me please?
It’s still 5/5 Bison can still pressure and zone out with normals/scissors and Honda’s only “advantage” is Ex-Headbutt in that match. imo that is.
Thanks for your reply Mr. SNK, ok I have a more specific question, what do I do against a bison that gets a life lead(could be even the tiniest lead with lk scissor kick chip damage) and then turtles/ runs the hell away from me the rest of the match? I can’t find a way to get in or to build meter safely to chip with ex headbutt without getting a s.HK/lk scissors/ex psycho crusher in the face, starting all the process from 0 again!
Thanks in advance!
you shouldn’t be blowing meter for chip damage, a decent pointer against bison I use is abusing hhs for chip/meter, I don’t really like to play this match defensively as scissors chip adds up fast and can lead to tick throws/s.HP to blow up throw techs>c.lk xx scissors if all you do is sit there and wait for him to throw it away, he simply has too many ways to pressure you to play this match in down-back mode imo.
I also think building for super in this match helps a lot, one HHSxxsuper for 400 damage in round 3 can force him to take more risks.
edit: I do sympathize with you because getting in on bison is a pain, but not nearly as hard as guile/sagat, once you’re in and pressuring him his only real options are EX PC which gives you a free HHS combo if you block it, sit there and take the chip/command throws, or jump which leads to jab/EX headbutt/whatever antiair
this matchup is 5/5 or maybe like 5.5honda/4.5bison he doesn’t really have any good ways to get you off him if you’re not doing stupid stuff like random buttslams or head-butts or jumping at him and eating s.RH over and over
You just answered your own question. However here’s what I tend to do.
Guile…this matchup really feels like its 7/3 or atleast 6.5/3.5, way harder than sagat or ryu, because you can at least jump over their fireballs and slap them in the face for it at the correct ranges. It even feels harder than chun li because she has lower health. Talking about good guiles, not the “sweep is a blockstring, crossups are a good idea” guiles
The only real weakness guile has in this match up is his low stun, jumping over a sonic boom leaves you at the mercy of one of his anti-airs, meeting him in the air gets you air thrown and lets him back up to wherever he wants to be (away from you). walking forward only ensures you’ll eat about 10 sonic booms worth of chip before you have a chance of getting in, and eventually he WILL throw/push you out someway which means you get to spend 25% of your health just waiting for/trying to create another opening.
Obviously I know I’m able to counterpick if I need to, and the chun/guile matchup isn’t so bad but can anyone spare me a few tips on beating this guy if I’m forced to pick the fatman against him? (online is blindpick, team tourneys, other BS character lock crap)
TLDR: Help with guile
if sonic booms are your biggest problem neutral jump fierce some. No matter what if your jumping in use mp… use it early to beat air throw… after an oicho its free damage on his wake up
Thanks a lot for the reply, honestly after thinking about it Guile isn’t as bad as I thought, atleast 6/4 or 6.5/3.5 but not 7/3. For everyone who has trouble there’s a great video on the honda vids thread of Dagger G vs. SidtheSquid, it seems to me that the best way to beat Guile is to throw him on him on his back as much as possible and pressure him on his wakeup.

double post, my bad.
Super E.Honda Match-Up Thread. (Before the war)
Warahk (arguably one of the best guiles in SoCal) taught me to empty jump at max j.fp range to bait his down fierce or other AAs, then punish with jab hands or ochio. Granted I’m still new to this game so the execution was tough on him, but it was effective when playing other guiles.
o you mean warhawk the shitty rufus sub/ ragequitter?Ya no thx
so thats not a good technique to use against guile?
Prick, I’d put 50 on RageQuit NCR over you.
I’d back that
I’ll put 50 on that, I always back the shittalker.

Lol yeah I dunno about his Rufus but his guile is pretty sick.
Whats the match up vs Dudley like? I only know so far that you can punish mgb’s with reversal ochios, his f.hp causes some trouble for me too.
Does someone know if our little sumo has a safe jump setup on some char?
Something like the ryu’s autopilot safe jump or something similar?
Thx!
