Any characteras honda can j.hk, close hp, jab hands, s.hk with the new hhs?

He could always do it on Gouken, Fuerte, Cammy, Dhalsim and less reliably cody and t-hawk

It now works on akuma but the timing for the Rh is very tight and alot of the time it just whiffs.

Any news if the buttslam funky hitbox got fixed? Honda’s still rubbing with the opponent in the air for no damage? :stuck_out_tongue:

It hasn’t changed sadly. It’s been said previously, but it’s really a problem with the move’s active frames, at the peek of the jump, the move isn’t “attacking” anymore.

On the meter gain front, I think you are right. I seem to always have at least a bar now.

Playing around with Honda vs Honda, just noticed that close crouching and standing lp into hhs wouldn’t combo on Honda. Had to stand at the right distance for it to hit. Might of just been me (execution errors) although I am pretty consistent with most hhs combos. Can anyone confirm this?

You can’t cLP xx HHS on crouching Honda, but you can do cMK xx HHS

Don’t forget that you can combo into Ultra 1 on crouching Honda.

I think you are referring to a known issue – combos into HHS basically just don’t work on Honda properly, and this has been a known issue for a long time (since vanilla SF4, I think? Not 100% sure, I didn’t play much Honda in vanilla). They also used to not work on Rose and Sakura, but that got fixed in AE v2012 when they changed the hitbox on HHS.

stepkick combos with abel, certain rekkas with fei long whiff completely, I’m sure there’s more.

Did Hondas Super lose armor breaking ability? I used it yesterday against a Gief I caught focusing and his focus actually punished it. ANd not that long ago I tried using it against a Fei that activated Ultra 2 and I got punished for that as well. Soooooooooo yeah. Thats some horse poopie.
On the lighter side, jumping mp and jumping mk are much better.

Honda’s super only breaks armor on the 2nd hit, and it’s always been that way. I remember supering in response to an Abel U2 and losing once, and being flabbergasted. If someone has already let a long focus rip like Zangief’s when you hit him, it is possible to focus. You have to be sortof careful with how you use it in that sense.

What ZBD said, super has always been like that, I don’t know why(it’s really stupid IMHO).

Why do you say jumping mp and jumping mk are much better?

Just seems weird that his normal Headbutt breaks armor but his SUPER Headbutt doesn’t. Oh well. I went home and tried it and yep, does not break armor. Guess I wasn’t using it correctly.
And (I could be wrong) but it feels like they put the reach back into jumping MP and extended the hit box on jumping MK so that it can cross up from further away. But like I said, I could be wrong.

On ANOTHER topic I was told by a top 64 EVO Balrog player (who plays on PSN) that the reason he random Headbutts is because Honda Rog match up is 7-3 Honda. Not quite sure but I think I was trolled.

I agree, it’s stupid because if you catch your opponent throwing a projectile with your Super during the first frames, he can cancel the projectile with focus EX, absorb the Super’s first hit and punish you. I suggest using Super only after HHS on hit or for big punishes

Most people don’t even realize that and just back dash and eat super.
