The reason I threw Jojo’s in was because I figured it was not near as popular as HnK and it might just get pushed out of the way or something.
Yeah, the the Yuria thing was an OVA it was alright… not something I really cared about. Let’s see the Toki thing.
I like Souther as lot too. I didn’t really know what to think about his master not being in the movie but I guess it would have not had enough time to show and also would have gotten in the way.

So is HnK2 regarded like GT? In that the original creator(s) had little to do with it at all and is considered non canon due to its somewhat suckiness? Or is it just because it isn’t all that good?
Do you mean “new” Fist of the north star, which saw a U.S release? Yeah those were really Great. I’d hope to see Sanga & seji in a HNK2 fighter if a sequel was made.
As for those recent 3 ‘side-story’ movies, i really liked the first one with Souther(raoh gaiden?). That one really felt like a MOVIE too. The other two, Yuria densetsu and RG2, were like flashback reels or something and just didn’t have the impact or the coolness that Souther flick had.
Especially that lame glorified flashback-movie that was Yuria Densetsu, all it was good for was seeing modern animated takes on classic scenes. Like 1st Ken Vs Shin, and Rei’s intro. You can see all those bits on youtube anyway.
souten no ken is not related to HnK but uses the same plotline (i.e: main character is named Kenshiro and uses a legendary fist) it’s still pretty cool…i recommend checking it out

It is “related” in that its a prequel show. Kenshiro being Ryuuken’s older brother and previous hokuto successor before him.

It’s stll pretty good.
There is a relevation towards the middle/endish part that shows you that the creators were trying their hardest to keep pushing the series on.
It’s not GT level bad where you can see every little attempt by Funimation to milk every last penny of Dragonball,but there are still some “WTF” moments from what I saw.

That was the only thing i had a slight problem with in Hnk2. Seems like the creators got lazy and just “recycled” some characters and made up the brothers thing.
I’ve never read the original manga, but it would not surprise me to find out those two ‘other brothers’ never existed till the anime.
