Also the ending theme to the English dub of the show is nice. Very somber and you get that sense of loneliness this guy has.

Yuria died and whats he got left? Id love for them to continue the series again or do another one that takes after the manga series. Shin Hokuto no Ken was alright, but I’d love if they did something great for once.

Even the new OVAs didnt really hit the spot for most HnK fans, it was more like pretty eye candy and sparkly eyed gloss all over the place. Also the color of the blood made it look like juice (or if you’ve seen the movie lately, the fountain of chocolate from the original Willy Wonka movie.)

I love the deeper color red for blood.

Yeh Bruce Lee was a major influence on the creation of Kenshiro, the clothes coming from Mad Max.

I prefer white hair Raoh, but if I had to pick black or blonde, definately black!

yes i agree. i never liked how in anime, white = better haha. Also what I liked about SHnK compared to the new OVAs is that for the final fight in SHnK he had the dark eyes and actually resembled the Kenshiro from the old series. The new OVAs he was all sparkly eyed and the hair was like some Gackt/ GQ japanese model.

Got my copy of the 1986 movie…it looks good on DVD.
No real extras, but worth the buy.
The English voice acting was surprisingly good…James Avery FTW.

Personally, I think the “default” color for Raoh in Arc’s fighter had it perfect. Dark-skinned, yet platinum locks. Perfect combination of the best of his 80s anime and “new school” appearances. :wgrin:

How much do you guys think this DVD set will cost? Im in a spot where I can either burn all 109 episodes on DVD, or I can wait for retail. I can fit about 5 episodes per disc though…so I will need to buy 20 discs. Doesnt make a difference to me how many discs it will take, but im just worried about the price…

If they know what’s good for them, they’ll probably be $30-$50 per set for 4 sets, so at most it will (hopefully) be no more than $200. I don’t know if it’s worth it to you, but it’ll be worth it for me! If anything, showing support for this release means we might see the newer movies released, or maybe even the whole manga. It’s worth a shot if you’d like to see more FotNS in America…

Yeah its a pachinko machine and you see those clips in the screen when you get a bonus / “advance.”

Wow those cut scenes look awesome. I like how not everybody looks the same.

so a friend of mine has become VERY interested in HnK after I showed him some clips. we are planning to do a marathon of the whole thing but really, theres a lot of filler. what episodes should I omit/serve no purpose to the story?
they need to do with HnK what they did with DBZ and re-cut the whole show to fit the manga.
